    Volume of Vortex Moduli Spaces

    A gas of NN Bogomol'nyi vortices in the Abelian Higgs model is studied on a compact Riemann surface of genus gg and area AA. The volume of the moduli space is computed and found to depend on N,gN, g and AA, but not on other details of the shape of the surface. The volume is then used to find the thermodynamic partition function and it is shown that the thermodynamical properties of such a gas do not depend on the genus of the Riemann surface.Comment: LaTex file, 17 pages.     This research was done at the University of Bina Darma Palembang. The purpose of this research is to help Bina Darma University in control valuation for lecturer's performance . Training and Valuation Lecturer's Performance Systems (KIDO) is expected to provide a sense of satisfaction and improve lecturer's loyalty. UPMT Team (Integrated Quality Assurance Unit) had difficulty in assessing lecturer's performance because the data processing software is now less effective or are still many deficiencies, such as the report generated only for that time period, the report generated only for the lecturer, report must be archived back into Microsoft Excel, the value of lecturer's performance (KIDO) from the previous period can not be seen, etc.. So the authors make the analysis and design to overcome these problems.     Subcellular protein expression models for microsatellite instability in colorectal adenocarcinoma tissue images

    Background New bioimaging techniques capable of visualising the co-location of numerous proteins within individual cells have been proposed to study tumour heterogeneity of neighbouring cells within the same tissue specimen. These techniques have highlighted the need to better understand the interplay between proteins in terms of their colocalisation. Results We recently proposed a cellular-level model of the healthy and cancerous colonic crypt microenvironments. Here, we extend the model to include detailed models of protein expression to generate synthetic multiplex fluorescence data. As a first step, we present models for various cell organelles learned from real immunofluorescence data from the Human Protein Atlas. Comparison between the distribution of various features obtained from the real and synthetic organelles has shown very good agreement. This has included both features that have been used as part of the model input and ones that have not been explicitly considered. We then develop models for six proteins which are important colorectal cancer biomarkers and are associated with microsatellite instability, namely MLH1, PMS2, MSH2, MSH6, P53 and PTEN. The protein models include their complex expression patterns and which cell phenotypes express them. The models have been validated by comparing distributions of real and synthesised parameters and by application of frameworks for analysing multiplex immunofluorescence image data. Conclusions The six proteins have been chosen as a case study to illustrate how the model can be used to generate synthetic multiplex immunofluorescence data. Further proteins could be included within the model in a similar manner to enable the study of a larger set of proteins of interest and their interactions. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first model for expression of multiple proteins in anatomically intact tissue, rather than within cells in culture.QNRF grant NPRP 5-1345-1-228.     Histopathological image analysis : a review

    Over the past decade, dramatic increases in computational power and improvement in image analysis algorithms have allowed the development of powerful computer-assisted analytical approaches to radiological data. With the recent advent of whole slide digital scanners, tissue histopathology slides can now be digitized and stored in digital image form. Consequently, digitized tissue histopathology has now become amenable to the application of computerized image analysis and machine learning techniques. Analogous to the role of computer-assisted diagnosis (CAD) algorithms in medical imaging to complement the opinion of a radiologist, CAD algorithms have begun to be developed for disease detection, diagnosis, and prognosis prediction to complement the opinion of the pathologist. In this paper, we review the recent state of the art CAD technology for digitized histopathology. This paper also briefly describes the development and application of novel image analysis technology for a few specific histopathology related problems being pursued in the United States and Europe

    The aim of this research is to describe the learning motivation of physics science with implementation of Pictorial Riddle. This type of research is a quasi-experimental, with a one-shot case study design. Samples in this research is all student of VIII B classes with total of 25 students. The instrument of data in this research is a ARCS motivation questionnaire. Analysis of the data in this study was a descriptive analysis that was used to view the category maotivation on learning physics science with the of use keller motivation formula. The analysis data shows score of students motivation are 5,33 with good category. Therefore, it can be concluded that implementation of Pictorial Riddle Learn Method can be used as an alternative method in the learning process in the classroom VIII SMP Beer Seba Pekanbaru

    Efektivitas Media Pembelajaran Matematika Berbasis Mobile Learning dalam Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Mahasiswa

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis mobile learning terhadap motivasi belajar mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Muslim Maros. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksperimen dengan subjek penelitiannya adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika yang sedang menempuh mata kuliah geometri dasar pada semester genap 2018/2019. Adapun desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest-posttest design. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan angket motivasi. Analisis data awal digunakan untuk memeriksa normalitas data. Analisis akhir menggunakan uji one sample t-test dan uji n-gain ternormalisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata gain ternormalisasi motivasi belajar matematika mahasiswa berada pada kategori sedang dan terdapat peningkatan motivasi belajar mahasiswa setelah diajar dengan menerapkan penggunaan mobile learning dalam pembelajaran geometri dasar

    Teacher performance improvemens in the implementation of strategic management, strategy and principals in improving teacher performance. To achieve these objectives, this study uses descriptive qualitative approach. Data was collected through interviews, observation and documentation. The procedure of data analysis is data reduction, data display, and verification. While the subject of research is principals, vice-principals, and teachers. The results showed that:(1) The procedure improved performance carried out in accordance with the teachers\u27 work rules in Aceh; (2) Improving the teachers performance in the implementation of strategic management is done in stages and follow the development of the situation as desired by the state management and time; and (3) The principal obstacle in the performance improvement teacher strategy include not involve efforts aimed at transforming strategic objectives into action in the form of the organization of the school program, so that the form of the implementation of educational programs take place with less supervision
