The effects of high temperatures (28, 31, 34 and 37 °C) on growth, survive and physiological responses of common snook (Centropomus undecimalis) juveniles were investigated. Treatments were performed in triplicate and consisted of four independent recirculating systems, each comprised of three 150-L tanks. Animals (initial weight 3.4 ± 0.54 g) were reared for 30 days and fed a commercial diet four times a day to apparent satiation. Samples (for growth parameters and tissue collection) were taken at the beginning and after 15 and 30 days of the experiment. The proximate composition of the fish whole body was not influenced by the treatments. Tissue samples were collected for the analyses of cell proliferation (phosphohistone H3) and stress responses (glucose, cortisol and Hsp 70). Results showed no influence of increasing temperature and cell proliferation in gills and heart. Among the treatments, there was no significant difference in the results of blood biochemical parameters, cortisol and glucose. However, the immunohistochemical response to heat stress (Hsp 70) had significant differences between the highest temperature and the other treatments. Survival and growth parameters were significantly affected by temperature. Increasing temperature to 37 °C resulted in 71.3% of mortality. The overall results suggest that the ideal temperature for rearing common snook juveniles is above 28 °C and should not exceed 34 °C. Based on a regression analysis of weight gain, the most suitable temperature was 31.9 °C

Studies in comparative literature have brought great contribution to this area of knowledge and grounded countless academic research studies over the years. In this regard, this research adds a new component to comparative studies, viz., the dialogic approach to literary studies, and aims to find out at what extent the heterodiscourse related to women in a patriarchal/male chauvinist society is represented in the novels A vida invisível de Eurídice Gusmão (2016), written by Brazilian author Martha Batalha, and Purple hibiscus (2003), written by Nigerian author Chimamanda Adichie, the corpus of this research. These works, which are analyzed from the perspective of the theory of dialogism of the Bakhtin Circle (Bakhtin, Voloshinov, Medvedev) in dialogue with feminist criticism, reflect and refract the position of women in contemporary societies as the main characters of the novels are placed in positions of inferiority. Methodologically, this bibliographical research follows the Circle’s orientation that the analysis of a text starts from the text and reaches the context of small time and great time. The results of this comparative/dialogical study between the novels prompted reflections not only on the position of the women represented in the novels and lived in the world of life of the novel’s context of production, but also on the dialogue between dialogism and feminist criticism and its contribution to literary analysis.

Niche theory suggests that the coexistence of ecologically similar species in the same site requires some form of resource partitioning that reduces or avoids interspecific competition. Here, from July 2013 to December 2015, we investigated spatial niche differentiation at three different scales of two sympatric congeneric spiders, Peucetia rubrolineata and P. flava, along an altitudinal gradient in shaded and open areas in an Atlantic forest in Serra do Japi, SP, Brazil. These spiders are peculiar in that they present an exclusive association with the plant Trichogoniopsis adenantha (Asteraceae). In theory, the coexistence of two Peucetia species could be explained by: (1) microhabitat segregation with individuals from different species occupying different parts of the same plants; (2) mesohabitat segregation with different species using plant in different environments; (3) macrohabitat segregation, where different species would not co-occur along the altitudinal gradient. With respect to micro-habitat use, in both species, different instars used different plant parts, while the same instars of both species used the same type of substrate. However, the two Peucetia species segregated by meso-habitat type, with P. rubrolineata preferring T. adenantha plants in shaded areas and P. flava preferring those in open areas. Our results support the hypothesis of niche partitioning begetting diversity, and highlight the importance of analyzing habitat use at multiple scales to understand mechanisms related to coexistence1410CONSELHO NACIONAL DE DESENVOLVIMENTO CIENTÍFICO E TECNOLÓGICO - CNPQCOORDENAÇÃO DE APERFEIÇOAMENTO DE PESSOAL DE NÍVEL SUPERIOR - CAPESFUNDAÇÃO DE AMPARO À PESQUISA DO ESTADO DE SÃO PAULO - FAPESPnão temnão temnão te

Artificial intelligence (AI) integration in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging presents new and exciting avenues for advancing patient care, automating post-processing tasks, and enhancing diagnostic precision and outcomes. The use of AI significantly streamlines the examination workflow through the reduction of acquisition and postprocessing durations, coupled with the automation of scan planning and acquisition parameters selection. This has led to a notable improvement in examination workflow efficiency, a reduction in operator variability, and an enhancement in overall image quality. Importantly, AI unlocks new possibilities to achieve spatial resolutions that were previously unattainable in patients. Furthermore, the potential for low-dose and contrast-agent-free imaging represents a stride toward safer and more patient-friendly diagnostic procedures. Beyond these benefits, AI facilitates precise risk stratification and prognosis evaluation by adeptly analysing extensive datasets. This comprehensive review article explores recent applications of AI in the realm of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, offering insights into its transformative potential in the field

Abstract : In this study, it was aimed to investigate the effects of L-carnitine and Co-enzyme Q10 administration together with ACE Inhibitor (ACE inh.) on oxidative stress parameters in liver, brain and kidney tissues in L-NAME hypertensive rats. At the study, divided all rats into eight groups, four groups with 14 days of experiment time and four groups with 28 days of experiment time. At the end of the experiment, the rats were euthanized and their liver, brain and kidney tissues were taken. Malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH) and nitric oxide (NO) activities were measured in tissue supernatants. While NO and MDA levels increased in all tissues, a significant decrease was observed in GSH levels (P<0.001). In conclusion, it is suggested that supplementation of L-carnitine and CoQ10 can be considered as a combination therapy strategy for patients prone to higher levels of oxidative stress and inflammation
