    The Importance of Economic Education: Preparing Future Generations for Global Economic Challenges

    Economic education has a central role in equipping future generations with a solid understanding of basic economic concepts and the skills needed to face global economic challenges. This abstract summarizes the results of discussions that highlight crucial aspects of economic education, including its role in improving understanding of economic concepts, preparation for global challenges, and development of critical and analytical skills. Discussions also include the linkage of research results to educational policy, a focus on developing ethical attitudes and social responsibility, and how economic education stimulates global collaboration and entrepreneurship. In conclusion, economic education not only provides conceptual knowledge but also forms the attitudes and skills needed to participate actively in the growing global economy

    Some Factors Affecting The Intention Of Self-Studying Students Of An Giang University

    Facing the trend of the 4th industrial revolution, the self-study capacity of students has a very important meaning in improving the quality of training. Therefore, the study aimed to evaluate the factors affecting the intention of self-study of An Giang University students. The study uses the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) on the basis of collecting data from 300 students studying the faculties of An Giang University. The study use methods of testing the reliability of scales by Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and multivariate regression analysis. Research results show that there are five factors that influence students' intention to self-study of students, such as: (1) Expectations for effort, (2) motivation for learning, (3) Perception of ease of use, (4) habits and (5) social influences. At the same time, this study provides some implications for management to help the school have strategies to support students' self-study to improve the quality of training to response the social needs

    Ab initio prediction of anomalous Hall effect in antiferromagnetic CaCrO3_3

    While the anomalous Hall effect takes place typically in ferromagnets with finite magnetization, large anomalous Hall conductivity in noncollinear antiferromagnetic systems has been recently observed and attracted much attention. In this study, we predict the anomalous Hall effect in perovskite CaCrO3_3 as a representative of 'collinear' antiferromagnetic materials. Our result shows that the C-type antiferromagnetic ordering generates the sizable anomalous Hall conductivity. Based on symmetry analyses, we show that the antiferromagnetic order parameter belongs to the same irreducible representation as the ferromagnetic order parameter in the nonsymmorphic space group, allowing the non-vanishing Berry curvatures in k space. By performing first-principles density-functional theory calculations, we find that the Berry-curvature 'hot spots' lie along the gapped nodal lines where spin-orbit coupling induces the spin splitting of Cr-3d bands near the Fermi energy and enhances the anomalous Hall effect in CaCrO3_3

    Key words: weed, weed control, herbicide Fimbristylismiliacea is a serious weed on rice field. Weed competition will cause yield losses. Several methods can be used to control weed such as: manual method, mechanical, cultural, chemical,… Herbicide is considered as a cheap and effective method to manage weed, especially in the large areas. The research has been conducted from July to November 2016 at experimental farm, Agriculture faculty, Andalas University, Indonesia. Experiment used Completely Randomized Design with six treatments and four replications. Herbicide did not affect to the rice growth (plant height and number of tiller). Plots treated with herbicide were recorded a great decrease of weed biomass (97%) and number of weed (89%), compared with no weed control plots. Hand weeding produced 33% higher yield. Herbicide help to increase yield 24-36%

    A POROUS MEMBRANE-INTEGRATED PMMA MICROFLUIDIC DEVICE FOR RELIABLE CYTOTOXICITY TESTS

    Department of Biomedical Engineering (Biomedical Engineering)High-throughput microfluidic devices for cytotoxicity screening are currently in high demand because they take much less turnaround time and cost only a fraction to fabricate comparing to the traditional animal testing method. However, most of the previous works have failed to construct a reliable drug testing platform since the largely exploited material - polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) ??? absorbs even small hydrophobic molecules, such as anti-cancer drugs. Several previous studies have switched to thermoplastics, including poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), for its inherent impermeability to small molecules. Still, there is no record shown to integrate these resins with polyethylene terephthalate (PETE) track-etched membrane to form a fully compartmentalized chip. This study reports a novel use of (3-glycidyloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane (GLYMO) to achieve an irreversible bonding of PMMA to PETE membranes for developing a drug-testing model. Briefly, the PMMA substrates engraved with microfluidic channels were functionalized with air plasma for 1 min and assembled with a 5% GLYMO - coated PETE membrane, followed by clamping and heating in an oven at 100 ??C for 2 min. The fabricated device endured up to 135kPa in gauge pressure and 1.97 ?? 10^7 kg m^-2 in shear force before showing any signs of liquid leakage. Drug testing efficacy was successfully validated as human lung adenocarcinoma cells showed more reliable cytotoxicity results for vincristine when cultured in the PMMA devices than those in the PDMS counterpart. Overall, our bonding approach was proven to be more advantageous over the fabrication methods using PDMS to construct a highly robust and reliable microfluidic device for promising pharmaceutical drug screening applications.ope

    Effects of different nutrient solutions on growth and flower quality of gerbera (Gerbera jamesonii) grown in hydroponic close system

    The nutrient solution is the decisive factor for the growth and development of hydroponic plants. This study was conducted to determine the effect of five nutrient solutions, namely, Hoagland, Knop, Hydro Umat F, BKFAST, and Bio-Life, on the growth and development of gerbera (Gerbera jamesonii) in the hydroponic system. The results show that Hydro Umat F is the most suitable solution for planting gerbera in terms of plant height, number of leaves, leaf size, and root volume. In addition, the flower yield of the gerbera plants nourished on Hydro Umat F is also the highest, with 8.7 flowers per plant after five months in the hydroponic system. The flowers have a diameter of 9.8 cm and natural durability of 19.67 days. Meanwhile, gerbera plants stop growing after 15 days in the Bio-Life solution and 30 days in the Knop solution

    Mathematical Communication is one of the required competencies of the learner in the needs of the real life, and in learning Mathematics, students always have the need to communicate with teacher and other students to solve problems in mathematics, as well as to present the solution or mathematical ideas to the others. However, there are many difficulties with many reasons when they exchange or communicate with the others by mathematical language in classroom. Therefore, the ability for communicating in Math is one of the required competencies of students. In this paper, we try to find out the obstacles which make students have difficulty when they are in mathematical communication while learning continuous functions. The problems set out in this article to assess how difficulties in communication in the Math class, so that we can recommend some possible strategies for teachers to help their students in order to overcome these obstacles in practicing teaching
