    Bayesian Decision Theoretic Approach to Directional Multiple Hypotheses Problems

    A multiple hypothesis problem with directional alternatives is considered in a decision theoretic framework. Skewness in the alternatives is considered, and it is shown that this skewness permits the Bayes rules to possess certain advantages when one direction of the alternatives is more important or more probable than the other direction. Bayes rules subject to constraints on certain directional false discovery rates are obtained, and their performances are compared with a traditional FDR rule through simulation. We also analyzed a gene expression data using our methodology, and compare the results to that of a FDR method

We proposed separate priors for the left tail and right tail alternatives as it may be required for many applications. The proposed Bayes rule is compared through simulation against rules proposed by Benjamini and Yekutieli and Efron. We illustrate the proposed methodology for two sets of data from biological experiments: HIV-transfected cell-line mRNA expression data, and a quantitative trait genome-wide SNP data set.     Effect of Jitter on the Settling Time of Mesochronous Clock Retiming Circuits

    It is well known that timing jitter can degrade the bit error rate (BER) of receivers that recover the clock from input data. However, timing jitter can also result in an indefinite increase in the settling time of clock recovery circuits, particularly in low swing mesochronous systems. Mesochronous clock retiming circuits are required in repeaterless low swing on-chip interconnects. We first discuss how timing jitter can result in a large increase in the settling time of the clock recovery circuit. Next, the circuit is modelled as a Markov chain with absorbing states. The mean time to absorption of the Markov chain, which represents the mean settling time of the circuit, is determined. The model is validated through behavioural simulations of the circuit, the results of which match well with the model predictions. We consider circuits with (i) data dependent jitter, (ii) random jitter, and (iii) combination of both of them. We show that a mismatch between the strengths of up and down corrections of the retiming can reduce the settling time. In particular, a 10% mismatch can reduce the mean settling time by up to 40%. We leverage this fact toward improving the settling time performance, and propose useful techniques based on biased training sequences and mismatched charge pumps. We also present a coarse+fine clock retiming circuit, which can operate in coarse first mode, to reduce the settling time substantially.     A clinico-morphological study of glandular hyperplasias of uterine cervix

    Background: Non neoplastic lesions of uterine cervix form a major bulk of the Diagnosis in histopathological departments. Some of the non-neoplastic lesions of uterine cervix mainly exuberant processes like glandular hyperplasias are prone to varying extents of misinterpretation. This can lead to potentially adverse consequences for the patient in the form of inappropriate treatment. But, studies on non-neoplastic lesions are comparatively less.This is an attempt to study the clinico morphologic features of glandular hyperplasias of uterine cervix.Methods: The present study is a retrospective study conducted using histopathology records of 2years (June 2013 to May 2015) in the department of Pathology, at a tertiary care hospital in south India. The study included 811 specimens of uterine cervix obtained either in the form of biopsies or hysterectomy specimensResults: 44 cases of Glandular hyperplasias of uterine cervix were encountered in the present study. In the present study uterine cervix is the most frequently occurring lesion, seen in 20 (2.47%) cases, followed by Microglandular hyperplasia in 13 (1.6%), Diffuse laminar endocervical glandular hyperplasia in 7 (0.86%), and Florid deep glands in 4 (0.49%).Conclusions: Glandular hyperplasias of uterine cervix arise in the reproductive age. Early age of occurrence in the present study compared to other studies can be attributed to early marriages and childbearing in Indian women.As diagnosis rests on histologic characteristics in routinely stained sections, familiarity with these lesions by pathologists is essential to avoid over diagnosis and treatment

    Energy Management system for Hybrid RES with Hybrid Cascaded Multilevel inverter

    In this paper, we propose an energy management system with hybrid solar and wind renewable energy system (RES) with Multilevel inverter to give a lossless power to load. This system continuously receives the battery storage and power consumption after it checks the these value with default value if power consumption is exceeds default value means it turn off  the loads. We are assigns the priority to the loads in order to overcome the user inconvenient. To increase PV module output MPPT is used. The existing system uses only boost converter, in our paper boost converter is combined with buck converter used because the PV module can produce high voltage  than DC-bus voltage. Buck converter used to step down purpose. In this  system  on-line configuration check and buck-boost mode transition will be presented.     Motivated by the recent result reported from LHC on the di-photon search for a Standard Model (SM) Higgs-like boson. We discuss the implications of this possible signal in the framework of the Inert Higgs Doublet Model (IHDM), taking into account previous limits from Higgs searches at LEP, the Tevatron and the LHC as well as constraints from unitarity, vacuum stability and electroweak precision tests. We show that the charged Higgs contributions can interfere constructively or destructively with the W gauge bosons loops leading to enhancement or suppression of the di-photon rate with respect to SM rate. We show also that the invisible decay of the Higgs, if open, could affect the total width of the SM Higgs boson and therefore suppress the di-photon rate.Comment: 15 pages, added reference
