Scop. Introduction. The majority of severe thoracic trauma (80%) result from polytrauma. It is associated with a high risk of morbidity and mortality (15-30%). Despite the rare incidence of tracheobronchial injury (1,5- 3%), the lethality is high due to development of early complications (acute cardiorespiratory failure) and late complications (lung sepsis) that depend directly on the time of diagnosis. Purpose. Appreciation of determinant preoperative factors, necessary to establish on time an accurate diagnosis and surgical treatment. Material and methods. Three polytraumatized patients (Cr,Th,Loco) with predominant thoracic injury, mean age – 23,67±2,73 years, M:F ratio 2:1, hospitalized between 2011-2015. ISS=38p(3), RTS= 6,171(1) and 7,841(2), TRISS – 20,3%(1), 6,2%(2). In 100% of cases investigations include: chest x-ray, FAST and FBS, TC – one case. The time period injury-intervention: up to 12h(2), 5 days(1) – AVIASAN transfer. Results. Chest x-ray revealed: multiple bilateral rib fractures(2), unilateral(1), bilateral hemopneumothorax(2), bilateral pneumothorax(1) and pneumomediastinum(2) with suspicion of bronchial lesion in one case. Bilateral thoracocentesis was performed in all patients, anterior mediastinal drainage – in one. TC revealed rib fractures, lung contusion and persistent pneumothorax. The continuous airflow through drainages required diagnostic bronchoscopy(100%) that confirmed the bronchial lesion (RMB – 2, LMB – 1). Thoracotomy with the plasty of injured bronchus was performed in all patients, right upper lobectomy in 1. Postoperative evolution – favorable, hospitalization period – 17,67±2,72 days. All patients developed pneumonia, confirmed by imagistic examinations. Conclusions. Acute hemodynamic and respiratory instability, the presence of the continuous airflow through drainages and imagistic examinations lead to suspicion of tracheobronchial injury, which required a confirmation by fibrobronchoscopy, that guarantees the right diagnosis and surgical treatment on time

The aim was to evaluate the effectiveness of using the “Sterius 60” microwave disinfection system (Russia) for decontamination of objects infected with PBA of groups I–IV emerging as a result of working with infected laboratory animals.Materials and methods. Effectiveness verification of disinfection of biological waste generated as a result of the life of laboratory animals by SHF radiation was carried out in the microwave system “Sterius 60”, recommended by the manufacturer for disinfection of epidemiologically hazardous and extremely dangerous medical waste, including biological ones (classes B and C), by volumetric SHF heating. Carcasses of uninfected laboratory animals (white mice, Guinea pigs, suckling rabbits), granulated feed and bedding material (wood shavings), which are objects directly in contact with biomodels, were used as vivarium waste to be decontaminated. The following microorganisms were utilized as model test ones: Bacillus subtilus VKM B-911, Bacillus stearothermophilus VKM B-718, Bacillus licheniformis G VKM B-1711-D, Alcaligenes faecalis 415, Yersinia pestis EV, Bacillus anthracis STI. Laboratory utensils (plastic Petri dishes, porcelain mortars and pestles) were used as a mock-up chamber filler for model test microorganisms. Results and discussion. As a result of the study, data were obtained indicating that the microwave system for disinfection of medical waste “Sterius 60” is ineffective for decontamination of biological waste in laboratories working with biomodels infected with PBA of groups I–II. The established standard mode of disinfection of this system was effective only for non-spore forms of microorganisms, pathogenicity groups III–IV. Therefore, in our opinion, it is advisable to use it for decontamination of laboratory utensils infected with PBA of groups III–IV, directly at sites of waste generation

for BALB/c mice by an order while retaining protective properties. Strain Francisella tularensis 15 lacking two copies of the iglC gene cannot replicate in mice organism, induces weak humoral response, is fully avirulent, and has decreased protective activity. Treatment of mice with sera obtained from the animals immunized on day 49 post immunization both with the stock F. tularensis 15 strain and its variants with one or two inactivated iglC genes has provided for 100 % protection from challenge with 200 DCL of F. tularensis 15 strain. However in case of BALB/c mice exposure to virulent F. tularensis 503 and F. tularensis Schu strains (50 DCL and 25 DSL, respectively), treated with immune sera 24 hours before, registered has been only mean lifetime increase
