Impact of Tandem Repeats on the Scaling of Nucleotide Sequences
Techniques such as detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) and its extensions
have been widely used to determine the nature of scaling in nucleotide
sequences. In this brief communication we show that tandem repeats which are
ubiquitous in nucleotide sequences can prevent reliable estimation of possible
long-range correlations. Therefore, it is important to investigate the presence
of tandem repeats prior to scaling exponent estimation.Comment: 14 Pages, 3 Figure
Climate change: causes, effects and the ways out
Climate is a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather pattern over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. It can be a change in average condition.
Based on the broadest scale, the rate at which energy is received from the sun and the rate at which it is lost will determine the equilibrium temperature and climate of earth distributed around the globe by winds ocean currents and other mechanisms to affect the climate of different regions.

dRail: a novel physical layout methodology for power gated circuits
In this paper we present a physical layout methodology, called dRail, to allow power gated and non-power gated cells to be placed next to each other. This is unlike traditional voltage area layout which separates cells to prevent shorting of power supplies leading to impact on area, routing and power. To implement dRail, a modified standard cell architecture and physical layout is proposed. The methodology is validated by implementing power gating on the data engine in an ARM Cortex-A5 processor using a 65nm library, and shows up to 38% reduction in area cost when compared to traditional voltage area layou
Multiphoton amplitudes and generalized Landau-Khalatnikov-Fradkin transformation in scalar QED
We apply the worldline formalism to amplitudes in scalar quantum
electrodynamics (QED) involving open scalar lines, with an emphasis on their
non-perturbative gauge dependence. At the tree-level, we study the scalar
propagator interacting with any number of photons in configuration space as
well as in momentum space. At one-loop we rederive, in an efficient way, the
off-shell vertex in an arbitrary dimension and any covariant gauge.
Generalizing the Landau-Khalatnikov-Fradkin transformation (LKFT) for the
non-perturbative propagator, we find simple non-perturbative transformation
rules for arbitrary x-space amplitudes under a change of the covariant gauge
parameter in terms of conformal cross ratios.Comment: 21 pages, 8 figure
The nonperturbative propagator and vertex in massless quenched QED_d
It is well known how multiplicative renormalizability of the fermion
propagator, through its Schwinger-Dyson equation, imposes restrictions on the
3-point fermion-boson vertex in massless quenched quantum electrodynamics in
4-dimensions (QED). Moreover, perturbation theory serves as an excellent
guide for possible nonperturbative constructions of Green functions.
We extend these ideas to arbitrary dimensions . The constraint of
multiplicative renormalizability of the fermion propagator is generalized to a
Landau-Khalatnikov-Fradkin transformation law in -dimensions and it
naturally leads to a constraint on the fermion-boson vertex. We verify that
this constraint is satisfied in perturbation theory at the one loop level in
3-dimensions. Based upon one loop perturbative calculation of the vertex, we
find additional restrictions on its possible nonperturbative forms in arbitrary
dimensions.Comment: 13 pages, no figures, latex (uses IOP style files
A-OLSR: ANFIS based OLSR to select Multi point relay
The characteristics like dynamic topology, power consumption, mobility etc. may leads to affect the routing process of packet as it progresses from one node to another node. The energy of each node is very limited in MANET’s due to which it becomes an important parameter to be considered while selecting the route. The ‘Optimized Link State Routing Protocol’ (OLSR) does not consider node energy during Multipoint relay (MPR) selection process. This paper proposes an improvement of OLSR routing protocol named as A-OLSR protocol using node energy during its MPR process. The improvement is based on adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The network simulator NS2.35 is used for the simulation, random way point model for mobility and constant bit rate (CBR) for traffic process. The performance of proposed A-OLSR protocol is evaluated using the packet delivery ratio (PDR) and end to end delay metrices. The simulation results prove the superiority of the proposed protocol in terms of PDR
The Nexus of Ethical Leadership, Job Performance, and Turnover Intention: The Mediating Role of Job Satisfaction
This study aims to examine the impact of ethical leadership on employees’ job satisfaction, performance, and turnover intention. A conceptual framework is developed which clearly integrates job satisfaction as a mediating mechanism in explaining the nexus among ethical leadership, job performance, and turnover intention. This framework is then analysed employing data from a sample (n = 114) of tourist companies in Lahore, Pakistan. The results reveal that ethical leadership has positive effect on employees’ job satisfaction, performance and has negative effect on their turnover intentions. Further, job satisfaction positively mediates the effect of ethical leadership on employees’ job performance and turnover intentions. The findings recommend that the demonstration of ethical leadership behaviours by managers at workplace enhances employees’ job satisfaction and performance, and decreases the intention of employees to leave the job. The main narrative of this study encompasses the imperative role of ethical leadership in the workplace where it serves as a factor that enhances employees’ job satisfaction, performance, and decreases turnover intention. This research explicitly demonstrates that in Pakistani tourism sector, ethical leadership plays a vital role to achieve performance goals. Future research could analyse the said nexus in different sectors and cultures, and may also consider other measures of individual performance. The consideration of job satisfaction as mediating variable in probing the linkages among ethical leadership, job performance, and turnover intention in the context of the workplace in Pakistan and the analysing of this linkage is novel
