    Primary cutaneous B-cell lymphomas (PCBCL) are a heterogeneous group of mature B-cells neoplasms that present in the skin without evidence of nodal or systemic involvement. The clinical and pathologic features of PCBCL differ significantly from the equivalent nodal lymphomas. Three main subtypes of PCBCL are recognized by the 2016 revised WHO classification. Studies have shown that PCBCLs are characterized by distinct immunophenotypic features, chromosomal aberrations and gene rearrangements which provide further support for their classification as separate entities from their nodal types

    Knitting for heart valve tissue engineering.

    Knitting is a versatile technology which offers a large portfolio of products and solutions of interest in heart valve (HV) tissue engineering (TE). One of the main advantages of knitting is its ability to construct complex shapes and structures by precisely assembling the yarns in the desired position. With this in mind, knitting could be employed to construct a HV scaffold that closely resembles the authentic valve. This has the potential to reproduce the anisotropic structure that is characteristic of the heart valve with the yarns, in particular the 3-layered architecture of the leaflets. These yarns can provide oriented growth of cells lengthwise and consequently enable the deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins in an oriented manner. This technique, therefore, has a potential to provide a functional knitted scaffold, but to achieve that textile engineers need to gain a basic understanding of structural and mechanical aspects of the heart valve and in addition, tissue engineers must acquire the knowledge of tools and capacities that are essential in knitting technology. The aim of this review is to provide a platform to consolidate these two fields as well as to enable an efficient communication and cooperation among these two research areas

    Detection and characterisation of delamination damage propagation in woven glass fibre reinforced polymer composite using thermoelastic response mapping

    This paper details a study on the application of Thermoelastic Stress Analysis (TSA) for the investigation of delamination damage propagation in glass fibre reinforced composite materials. A woven Glass (0/90)/ Epoxy composite sample containing a purposely created delamination was subjected to a step-cyclic loading (varying mean level) whilst monitoring the thermoelastic response of the sample with an infrared camera. A finite element analysis (FEA) was performed using cohesive elements to simulate the propagation of the delamination under a monotonically increasing axial load. It is shown that the delamination crack length inferred from the TSA results is consistent with microscopic analysis of the sample, and that the measured crack growth rate is in reasonable agreement with simulation results

    In Vitro Anticoccidial Activity of Olive Pulp (Olea europaea L. var. Chemlal) Extract Against Eimeria Oocysts in Broiler Chickens

    Aim: The objective of the present study was to investigate in vitro anticoccidial effect of olive pulp (Olea europaea L var. Chemlal) extract on the destruction of Eimeria spp. oocysts isolated from infected chickens naturally. Materials and methods: The olive pulp (OP) powder was stirred manually in aqueous ethanol in preparation for extraction using the microwave-assisted extraction system. The identification of the phenolic compounds was obtained by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry with electrospray ionisation (HPLC–ESI–MS). The treatment of Eimeria oocyst with OP extract and standard compounds (quercetin and oleuropein) leads to their lysis as shown by the release of substances absorbing at 273 nm. Results: Our results showed that the maximum number of reduced oocysts was recorded after 8 h of incubation of optimum OP extract, quercetin and oleuropein for different periods of time. Also, the number of Eimeria oocysts decreased considerably with increase concentrations after adding the optimum of OP extract in concentration ranging from 0.023 to 0.371 mg/ml. Positive correlation between the optimum OP extract concentrations and the number of Eimeria oocysts reduced was R2 = 0.959. From this in vitro experiment, it can be concluded that the OP extract possesses an anti-Eimeria spp activity. Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first time that quercetin and oleuropein were tested to evaluate their anticoccidial activity. The findings of this study showed that phenolic compound of OP extract tested separately possesses anti-Eimeria spp. effect. Further studies should be carried out to test its in vivo efficacy of the OP bioactive compounds in broiler chickens

    Synthesis And Characterization Of PVP Based Catalysts For Selected Application In Catalysis

    This research aims to study the catalyst activity in specific reactions and the characteristics of the catalyst in order to optimize its performance. This research investigates PVP based catalysts and their properties and applications. PVP was prepared in combination with different metal oxides in order to be tested for different catalytic applications including dye removal. Methyl orange was used as a dye and different concentrations were tested against different metallic ions in order to optimize the catalyst for being used in dye removal applications. Spectrophotometer was used to calculate the concentration of the dye before and after catalyst exposure and investigate the relation between contact time and concentrations. Applying different contact time to the same weight percent of PVP based catalyst with metallic ions revealed that increasing the contact time with a good shaking lead to decrease in the concentration of the dye mixed with the sample. The tests showed that the mixture between PVP and Nickel has the best dye removal within the other metal ions (copper and ferric) as well it showed that ferric has the least effect on dye removal.     Study of Radio Absorbing Properties of Layered Oxide and Carbon Containing Composite Materials

    The regularities of changing of the values of electromagnetic radiation absorption coefficient of layered oxide and carbon containing composite materials and electromagnetic radiation absorption losses, provided by these ones, depending on this radiation frequency values, varying in the range from 0.7 to 142.8 GHz, have been established. The results of the experimental substantiation of the technique for such materials manufacturing have been presented by the authors in earlier published scientific papers. Based on the established regularities, it was determined that layered oxide and carbon containing composite materials absorb the energy of electromagnetic radiation, interacting with them, to the greatest extent if the frequency value of this radiation varies from 16.7 to 26.0 GHz and from 54.0 to 78.0 GHz. It was defined, that the studied materials are suitable for use to ensure the high accuracy and electromagnetic compatibility of microwave measuring equipment
