Effects of finite volume on the KL-KS mass difference

    Get PDF
Phenomena that involve two or more on-shell particles are particularly sensitive to the effects of finite volume and require special treatment when computed using lattice QCD. In this paper we generalize the results of Lüscher and Lellouch and Lüscher, which determine the leading-order effects of finite volume on the two-particle spectrum and two-particle decay amplitudes to determine the finite-volume effects in the second-order mixing of the K0 and K0¯ states. We extend the methods of Kim, Sachrajda, and Sharpe to provide a direct, uniform treatment of these three, related, finite-volume corrections. In particular, the leading, finite-volume corrections to the KL-KS mass difference ΔMK and the CP-violating parameter εK are determined, including the potentially large effects which can arise from the near degeneracy of the kaon mass and the energy of a finite-volume, two-pion state

Zero Modes of Matter Fields on Scalar Flat Thick Branes

Zero modes of various matters with spin 0, 1 and 1/2 on a class of scalar flat thick branes are discussed in this paper. We show that scalar field with spin 0 is localized on all thick branes without additional condition, while spin 1 vector field is not localized. In addition, for spin 1/2 fermionic field, the zero mode is localized on the branes under certain conditions.Comment: 11 pages,no figure

A note on the boundary contribution with bad deformation in gauge theory

Motivated by recently progresses in the study of BCFW recursion relation with nonzero boundary contributions for theories with scalars and fermions\cite{Bofeng}, in this short note we continue the study of boundary contributions of gauge theory with the bad deformation. Unlike cases with scalars or fermions, it is hard to use Feynman diagrams directly to obtain boundary contributions, thus we propose another method based on the N=4{\cal N}=4 SYM theory. Using this method, we are able to write down a useful on-shell recursion relation to calculate boundary contributions from related theories. Our result shows the cut-constructibility of gauge theory even with the bad deformation in some generalized sense.Comment: 16 pages, 7 figure

Global behavior of cosmological dynamics with interacting Veneziano ghost

In this paper, we shall study the dynamical behavior of the universe accelerated by the so called Veneziano ghost dark energy component locally and globally by using the linearization and nullcline method developed in this paper. The energy density is generalized to be proportional to the Hawking temperature defined on the trapping horizon instead of Hubble horizon of the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe. We also give a prediction of the fate of the universe and present the bifurcation phenomenon of the dynamical system of the universe. It seems that the universe could be dominated by dark energy at present in some region of the parameter space.Comment: 8 pages, 7 figures, accepted for publication in JHE

Parameter Selection of Oscillator Resonant Circuit Based on Stochastic Differential Equation

Because the choice of oscillator resonant circuit parameters depends mostly on experience, we propose nonlinear differential equations to describe an oscillator based on an equivalent circuit of the oscillator and then to describe the internal electrical noise of the oscillator by introducing a stochastic term that establishes a nonlinear stochastic differential equation to analyse the oscillator\u27s behavior. For optimization of the oscillator resonant circuit parameters, first, we used Advanced Design System (simulation software of the Agilent company) to verify the conclusion, and then, using a 10MHz Pierce crystal oscillator, provided experimental evidence

A Deep Learning-Based Approach to Resource Allocation in UAV-aided Wireless Powered MEC Networks

Beamforming and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) are two key techniques for achieving spectral efficient communication in the fifth generation and beyond wireless networks. In this paper, we jointly apply a hybrid beamforming and NOMA techniques to an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-carried wireless-powered mobile edge computing (MEC) system, within which the UAV is mounted with a wireless power charger and the MEC platform delivers energy and computing services to Internet of Things (IoT) devices. We aim to maximize the sum computation rate at all IoT devices whilst satisfying the constraint of energy harvesting and coverage. The considered optimization problem is non-convex involving joint optimization of the UAV’s 3D placement and hybrid beamforming matrices as well as computation resource allocation in partial offloading pattern, and thus is quite difficult to tackle directly. By applying the polyhedral annexation method and the deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) algorithm, we propose an effective algorithm to derive the closed-form solution for the optimal 3D deployment of the UAV, and find the solution for the hybrid beamformer. A resource allocation algorithm for partial offloading pattern is thereby proposed. Simulation results demonstrate that our designed algorithm yields a significant computation performance enhancement as compared to the benchmark schemes
