Skin care preparations are designed to exert local activity when applied over the skin mucous membrane, these skin preparations include gel, lotion, ointment, cream, peel off mask etc. Peel off mask is the type of dosage form which is gently applied onto the facial skin surface and is peeled off after a few minutes of its application. It is used as the remedy to treat facial skin related problems and tightening of skin, moisturizing and tan removal from the skin. Here we are formulating of charcoal peel off face mask, charcoal have cleansing property and having soothing property. Excipients used in the formulation are PVA (polyvinyl alcohol), glycerin, gelatin citric acid. Different formulations were taken and evaluated for the various parameters like spread ability, pH, stability studies, peeling time etc. The formulation evaluated for the parameters stands in standard range

Melanoma is acknowledged by the World Health Organization as the most severe type of skin cancer, significantly contributing to skin cancer-related deaths worldwide. This type of cancer manifests through noticeable changes in moles, including their size, shape, colour, or texture. In this study, we introduce an innovative and robust method for detecting and classifying melanoma in various image types, including both basic and clinical dermatological images. Our approach employs the HSV (Hue, Saturation, and Value) colour model, along with mathematical morphology and Gaussian filtering techniques. These methods are used to pinpoint the area of interest in an image and compute four key descriptors crucial for melanoma analysis: symmetry, border irregularity, colour variation, and dimension. Despite the prior usage of these descriptors over an extended period, the manner in which they are calculated in this proposal is a key factor contributing to the improvement of the outcomes. Following this, a multilayer perceptron is utilized for the purpose of categorizing malignant and benign melanoma. The study included three datasets consisting of basic and dermatological photographs that are frequently referenced in academic literature. These datasets were applied to both train and assess the effectiveness of the proposed technique. Based on the results obtained from k-fold cross-validation, it is evident that the proposed model surpasses three existing state-of-the-art approaches. In particular, the model demonstrates remarkable precision, with an accuracy rate of 98.5% for basic images and 98.6% for clinical dermatological images. It exhibits a high level of sensitivity, measuring 96.68% for simple images and 98.05% for dermatological images. Additionally, its specificity stands at 98.15% when analyzing basic images and 98.01% for dermatological images, indicating its effectiveness in both types of image analysis. The findings have demonstrated that the utilization of this gadget as an assistive tool for melanoma diagnosis would enhance levels of reliability in comparison to traditional methods

Implementation of MHMIP and Comparing the Performance With MIP and DHMIP in Mobile Networks

Managing the mobility efficiently in wireless networks causes critical issue, in order to support mobile users. To support global mobility in IP networks The Mobile Internet Protocol (MIP) has been proposed. The Hierarchical MIP (HMIP) and Dynamic HMIP (DHMIP) strategies are also proposed for providing high signaling delay. Our proposal approach “Multicast HMIP strategy” limits the registration processes in the GFAs. For high-mobility MTs, MHMIP provides lowest mobility signaling delay compared to the HMIP and DHMIP approaches. However, it is resource consuming strategy unless for frequent MT mobility. Hence, we propose an analytic model to evaluate the mean signaling delay and the mean bandwidth per call according to the type of MT mobility. In our analysis, the MHMIP gives the best performance among the DHMIP and MIP strategies in almost all the studied cases. The main contribution of this paper is to implement the MHMIP and provide the analytic model that allows the comparison of MIP, DHMIP and MHMIP mobility management approaches

Objective: The present work was to formulate oral herbal tablets of Emblica officinalis extract and also with pure gallic acid, further to determine the dosage frequency through pharmacokinetic profiles obtained for the same. Methods: The Emblica officinalis fruits were suitably extracted and the concentration of gallic acid in Emblica officinalis extract was estimated by HPTLC (High-Performance Thin Layer Chromatography) with a comparison to pure form. Tablets were prepared with extract and synthetic form through direct compression technique by varying the process and formulation parameters. The formulated tablets were administered to rabbit models and their pharmacokinetic profile was studied after withdrawing blood samples through HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography). Results: The concentration of gallic acid in Emblica officinalis was found to be 8.21%. The pre and post compression parameters evaluated for the formulated batches found to be within the pharmacopoeial limits. The in vivo pharmacokinetic studies conducted in rabbit models showed that there were no significant differences with p-value between the pharmacokinetic data obtained for pure and extract gallic acid tablets. The Cmax was found to be 4.59±0.95 µg/ml in the extract form which was little low when compared to the pure form of 6.38±1.08 µg/ml. The t1/2 in the extract form was 6.0±0.33 h, whereas it was 4.92±0.36 h in the pure form of gallic acid. Conclusion: The Emblica officinalis extract tablet showed average t1/2 of 6 h, so about every 6 h one tablet compared to 4 h of t1/2 for pure gallic acid tablet can be the dosing frequency for the rabbit.Â

Background: The aim of this study was to survey the quality and the content of prescription of practitioners and also assess the legibility of alphabet, and short form of the drug. Methods: A survey of all prescription received by the patients that were written by general practitioners, consulting physicians and dentists in and around Virajpet and Madikeri (south Coorg) was included. The prescriptions were photocopied and returned back to the patients. The prescription was scored and analyzed by a qualified medical investigator. Results: A total of 171 prescription samples were collected. In most prescriptions, one or more aspects of patient’s personal details were missing. Concerned doctor’s details also lacked in most cases. 40.3% of the prescriptions were obtained wherein short form of the drug was used for prescribing drug. Legibility of alphabet was also evaluated and the most confusing letter noted in our study was letter “C”; followed by A, T, S, O, G, and D in this study the letter Rx was written in 7% of the prescription and in 19% prescription it was replaced by word “Adv” and 74% of prescription without symbol of Rx.Conclusions: The present data shows most prescriptions in the study was inadequate and important details were lacking, legibility of prescription was poor in rating

Background: Inhaled medications form the cornerstone for the management of Asthma and related diseases. Proper technique of pressurized metered dose Inhalers (pMDIs) has proven to be associated with higher level of control of these conditions. Medical personnel who are responsible for training patients must themselves be proficient with usage of pMDI. This study evaluated the outcome of different educational interventions regarding the correct usage of pMDI.Methods: An interventional study was carried out with 60 second year medical students in department of pharmacology, HIMS, Hassan from June to August 2015. Pre and post intervention (after one week and one month) was evaluated based on National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) criteria for the use of pMDI by written and demonstration methods. The interventions included a video clip, an information leaflet and demonstration by a trained faculty. Results: Overall mean scores in pre-test for written knowledge and skill demonstration are 2.13±1.49 and 3.78±1.06 .There was substantial improvement in post intervention scores 7.15±1.41 and 7.37±1.67 (p<0.05) . Using one way ANOVA, demonstration group has shown statistically significant improvement in mean score compared to video and checklist groups in 1 week (8.8 versus 7.2 and 6.1, p<0.05) and 1 month (8.25 versus 7.1 and 5.7 (p<0.05) after the intervention. Conclusions: Correct usage of pMDI is a necessary skill for health care professionals and can be taught by various methods. The educational intervention by an interactive demonstration has proven to be effective in learning the inhaler technique
