Everybody can be part of knowledge-sharing activities, and this is especially true if we are referring to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), where, in many situations, knowledge sharing can be seen to take place via natural activities. However, barriers and problems for knowledge sharing are also common. This is because some people think that their knowledge is valuable and important and are unwilling to share unless there are enough incentives. This study applies the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) to explain knowledge-sharing behaviour among academic staff at selected private HEIs in Malaysia. The main objective of this study is to identify the motivation that influences knowledgesharing behaviour. A total of 110 respondents participated in answering this study's questionnaire. The findings revealed that knowledge-sharing behaviour among academic staff exists and is affected by different motivational factors such as organisational rewards and reciprocal benefit as extrinsic factors and self efficacy and enjoyment in helping other as intrinsic factors

Customers’ individual private information are collected to gain valuable information. Through business analytics companies gain competitive advantage in making decisions. However, some irresponsible companies sell customer’s data to third party for illegal activities. This caused distrust and lack of confidence among consumers in revealing their private information. Due to customer reluctant in disclosing their information, this may hinder the growth of e-commerce. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate consumer sensitivity towards data privacy. This research adopted a research framework based on ‘Concern for Information Privacy’ (CFIP) dimensions to further conducted the study. This study has tested relationship using five independent variables. A total number 384 data were collected from respondents using questionnaire. Regression was employed to analyse the relationship between identified variables. Result found that collection, unauthorized secondary internal use, unauthorized secondary external use, improper access and errors have a positive influence on consumer sensitivity towards data privacy. Furthermore, the effects of unauthorized secondary internal use on consumer sensitivity towards data privacy is found to be significantly greater

Today, the whole world is experiencing environmental problems such as climate changes, global warming and ozone depletion. All the problems have eventually led to disruption and losses for businesses. To ensure smooth operations, businesses are starting to shift their business model favouring towards producing environmentally friendly products. The right marketing strategy will persuade customers to purchase the product offered. Therefore, green marketing is recommended to be used as part of the strategy to guarantee green product purchases among customers. However, the use of green marketing can influence customers are still widely in need of exploration and research. Hence, this paper aims to look into and explore the acceptances of green marketing mix that influence consumer purchase intention towards green products. The study examined green marketing elements towards purchase intention. A total number of 150 responses are analysed to find the acceptances of green marketing mix by using regression analysis. The result indicates that the green marketing mix has positive impact towards customer purchase intention

In Malaysia, the beauty and health industry is growing very rapidly. Malaysians are expected to spend about RM9.61 billion yearly on cosmetics and toiletries products by 2019. Beauty industry becomes prominent in the worldwide market place because of the dynamic involvement of male and female consumers who started to use beauty products more frequently. The patterns of consumer behaviours are always varying, so the marketers require to identify the users’ purchase decision to attract or retain the customers. In addition, customer satisfaction is critical issues to the companies because it can have influences on customer retention. The main purpose of this study is to define the factors that can influence consumer behaviour towards the selection of beauty products. Some of the factors consist of social factor, personal factor, psychological factor, technological factor and Korean Wave influence. Besides that, this study also aimed to determine the satisfaction level of the beauty customers. The outcomes of this study would be beneficial to the marketers to identify the exact factors that can influence the Malaysian’s consumer behaviours towards the beauty products. A descriptive research study was adopted in this research study to analyse research objectives. The respondents were chosen based on two sampling techniques which are convenient sampling and purposive or judgemental sampling. The questionnaire will be used to collect data from the respondents to achieve the research objectives and 213 questionnaires also distributed among the beauty consumers in Klang Valley. Based on the results, the four factors except technological factors have a significant relationship with consumer behaviour towards the selection of beauty products. Moreover, the personal factor is the most influential factor in beauty consumer behaviour. The study also shows that majority of the respondents were satisfied with the beauty products that they purchased or used

Critical Success Factors in Sustainable Credit Risk Model Among Manufacturing Companies in Malaysia

Credit risk is always foreseen as an analytical measurement adopted and employed by banking industry in Malaysia. It becomes critical in measuring the borrowers’ financial strength before the loan can be granted. In order to get a deep analysis, overview from different aspect is recommended. Financial and non-financial factor including the sustainable criteria are adopted in credit risk model. This pilot study was conducted to investigate critical success factor towards successful sustainable credit risk model among manufacturing companies in Malaysia. The questionnaires were design and distributed to the respondents. The result of reliability test shows that profitability is a critical factor influencing the successful of measurement of credit risk analysis compare to others factor. This study recommend that the future research explore the influence of sustainable credit risk model to different industry by consider more variables

Optimizing Economic Load Dispatch with Renewable Energy Sources via Differential Evolution Immunized Ant Colony Optimization Technique

    Get PDF
Recently, renewable energy (RE) has become a trend in power generation. It is slowly evolving from an alternative energy source into the main energy source. The technology is currently working as an auxiliary to the existing generators. Demands for electricity is expanding rapidly nowadays, which require generators to run near its operation limit. This activity put grieve risk to the generators. Nonetheless, the extensive analysis should be conducted upon RE integration into the existing power system. This paper assesses its economic impact on the power system. Setting up RE technology such as photovoltaic and wind turbine are costly, yet may reduce generator’s fuel cost in the long run. Thus, economic load dispatch (ELD) is conducted to compute the operating cost of power system with the integration of RE system. In this study, the operating cost represents the fuel cost of conventional fossil-fuel generators. Furthermore, a novel optimization technique namely Differential Evolution Immunized Ant Colony Optimization is proposed as the optimization engine. Comparative studies are conducted to assess the performance of the proposed approach

RULA: Postural Loading Assessment Tools for Malaysia Mining Industry

The ergonomics and environment factors have been the core issue for the mining industry for many years, and its profiles are rising. To ensure an ergonomics work environment, it is possible to require specific attention especially in this industries sector. It is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the essential issue in Malaysia due to lack of ergonomics knowledge and low awareness among the engineers in the mining sector. The focus of this study is to evaluate and validate the physical risk factor associated with work-related musculoskeletal disorder (WMSDs) by using Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) among mining industry workers. All the physical risk factors involved the main body regions such as upper arm, lower arm, wrist, trunk, neck and leg that has been identified associated with WMSDs. There were 18 subjects selected to involve in this study. Those subjects were chosen according to their job task. To increase the reliability of the result, each subject was evaluated thrice in the trials. From the analysis, the average of final score of the RULA is 7 indicates high risk and calls for engineering/or work method changes to reduce or eliminate muscular disorder risk. The results of the analysis were used to improve the process of work, design of workstation and also improving the work posture to enhance the comfort level of operators. This study is crucial among the mining industry that is a lack of the information and research about the ergonomics issues in the industry. The overall finding indicated that the whole process of selected work task will contribute to musculoskeletal disorder either for a short or long time exposure
