With the disruption that can not be predicted, we need a safety equipment (protection system) are precise and reliable. The purpose of this study was to determine the quantity of interference, protection system performance, reliability and power transformer protection system installation requirements in the area power transformer substation of 150 KV Garuda Sakti. Data obtained from the recording in substation Garuda Sakti analyzed using Descriptive Analysis Techniques percentage. The survey results revealed that from 2013 to 2015 occurred 28 times transformer disorders namely: in 2013 occurred 9 times transformer interference, in 2014 occurred 7 times transformer interference, and in 2015 the 12 times the transformer interference. Protection system that works in the event 28 times disruption in Substation Garuda Sakti 2013 to 2015 there are 6 kinds of relays, namely: Rele differential, Rele OCR / GFR, Rele OVR / UVR, Rele REF / SBEF, Rele UVLS and Rele DF / DT is the whole relay has a 100% reliability and got up fairly well. From 2013 to 2015 the reliability of Power Transformer Substation of Garuda Sakti by long outages caused by the interference, the Transformer Power1 reaches the percentage 99.97203%, the Transformer Daya2 reaches 99.983364%, the Transformer Daya3 reach 99.99258% and the Transformer Daya4 reaching 99.99081%. From the data analysis, in general, the protection system in the substation Garuda Sakti it can be argued that meets the requirements of the protection system selectivity, Reliability, Free Labor, Sensitivity and Economic

This study aims to determine the characteristics of transpiration of dominant plants post fire peatland in Rimba Panjang Village, Kampar District. The results of the research will be utilized for flipchart media design of the influence of external factors on the growth and development of plants in Class XII Senior High School. This research was conducted in February-June 2017 by using 2 phases namely (1) Stage measurement of transpiration rate of dominant plants; (2) Stage design of Senior High School Biology flipchart media. The research used survey method with observation in Rimba Panjang Village, Kampar District. Determination of sampling location was done by purposive random sampling based on the gradient of fire time and the samples were taken by using the line method. Flipchart media design is done by analysis and design phase. The main parameters in this study were the transpiration rate of dominant plants of sapling level and environmental factors namely soil moisture, light intensity, temperature and humidity as supporting parameters. The results showed that the transpiration characteristics of dominant plants after fire were influenced by the time of the fire. The transpiration rate tends to decrease from the observation site with the longest fire incident time (2009) to the new site experiencing the fire incident (2017). After a fire incident, plants need time to recover from damage both in function and physiology of plants. Differences in environmental conditions at each site with a gradient time observation of the fire is influenced by the high and low intensity fires. Based on the research results developed as a teaching material that will be presented in the design of Senior High School Biology flipchart media

A descriptive study on learning atmosphere in the excellence BiologyTeacher\u27s Education Program, The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education,University of Riau has been conducted in the Even Semester of the AcademicYear 2012/2013. The objective was to find out the learning atmosphere inEnglish for Biology II courses. As much as eighteen students have been defined asthe total respondents by total sampling technique. Data of seven indicatorslearning atmosphere, namely: (1) cohesiveness, (2) lecture support, (3)involvement, (4) investigation, (5) task orientation, (6) cooperation, and (7)lecture equity obtained by questionnaire What Is Happening In this Class(WIHIC). The questionnaire was valid (rxy0,54>critical values0,3) dan reliabel(r110,96>critical values0,7). The questionnaires were directly ditributed to therespondents at the end of the semester. Supplements data were taken by videorecording during the learning process. All data were analyzed descriptively. Theresults showed that learning atmosphere English for Biology II were consideredvery conducive from aspects of cohesiveness of relationship between students, task orientation, cooperation and lecture equity. While the lecture support, involvement, and student investigations were considered is enough conducive. Inclonclusion, the learning atmosphere of English for Biology II by using Research-based teaching were considered was enough conducive. However, the learningatmosphere of English for Biology II is still needs to be improved in order tobecome very conducive, especially with regard to indicators of lecturer support, student involvement and investigation

SPRITE and ASSAM: web servers for side chain 3D-motif searching in protein structures

    Get PDF
Similarities in the 3D patterns of amino acid side chains can provide insights into their function despite the absence of any detectable sequence or fold similarities. Search for protein sites (SPRITE) and amino acid pattern search for substructures and motifs (ASSAM) are graph theoretical programs that can search for 3D amino side chain matches in protein structures, by representing the amino acid side chains as pseudo-atoms. The geometric relationship of the pseudo-atoms to each other as a pattern can be represented as a labeled graph where the pseudo-atoms are the graph's nodes while the edges are the inter-pseudo-atomic distances. Both programs require the input file to be in the PDB format. The objective of using SPRITE is to identify matches of side chains in a query structure to patterns with characterized function. In contrast, a 3D pattern of interest can be searched for existing occurrences in available PDB structures using ASSAM. Both programs are freely accessible without any login requirement. SPRITE is available at http://mfrlab.org/grafss/sprite/while ASSAM can be accessed at http://mfrlab.org/grafss/assam/

The Glaciozyma antarctica genome reveals an array of systems that provide sustained responses towards temperature variations in a persistently cold habitat

Extremely low temperatures present various challenges to life that include ice formation and effects on metabolic capacity. Psyhcrophilic microorganisms typically have an array of mechanisms to enable survival in cold temperatures. In this study, we sequenced and analysed the genome of a psychrophilic yeast isolated in the Antarctic region, Glaciozyma antarctica. The genome annotation identified 7857 protein coding sequences. From the genome sequence analysis we were able to identify genes that encoded for proteins known to be associated with cold survival, in addition to annotating genes that are unique to G. antarctica. For genes that are known to be involved in cold adaptation such as anti-freeze proteins (AFPs), our gene expression analysis revealed that they were differentially transcribed over time and in response to different temperatures. This indicated the presence of an array of adaptation systems that can respond to a changing but persistent cold environment. We were also able to validate the activity of all the AFPs annotated where the recombinant AFPs demonstrated anti-freeze capacity. This work is an important foundation for further collective exploration into psychrophilic microbiology where among other potential, the genes unique to this species may represent a pool of novel mechanisms for cold survival

The inclusion of fisheries and tourism in marine protected areas to support conservation in Indonesia

    Get PDF
With the rapid growth of Indonesiaā€™s marine protected area (MPAs) estate in Indonesia, reaching 23.9 million hectares by January 2020, attention needs to be focused on strengthening the effectiveness of MPA management. Consolidating and expanding protection of Indonesiaā€™s marine resources is critical with increasing pressure from a fast-expanding population, illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing, pollution, coastal development, unsustainable tourism and climate change. Biodiversity conservation must therefore concurrently consider multiple economic sectors such as fisheries and tourism, and their synergies with MPA management. This paper aims to outline the current landscape of fisheries and marine tourism pertaining to area-based conservation in Indonesia, to inform and support improved integration into effective MPA management. Four areas to focus efforts were identified: diversification of governance types of community-based management, improved coordination between fisheries and MPAs during planning and management implementation, the development and support of pathways for sustainable tourism, and planning for future conditions. Sustainable development for fisheries and tourism must be incorporated into all aspects of MPA management, whilst recognising that current management systems are insufficient to ensure long-term sustainability for natural resources and local communities, and strategies need to increase resilience of social-ecological systems in anticipation of future conditions
