The Fiqh of the Imam and Congregation Position as Design Guidelines in Designing a Vertical Mosque

In the books of hadeeth and fiqh, it has been narrated many instructions about the imam and congregation position, especially about the position between the imam and the congregation and about the farthest and highest distance of the last row. Suprisingly, if we look closely, these lead us to the possibility in designing a vertical mosque. That is important to address the problem of urban sprawl, where the buildings would have to be directed vertically to solve urban density and to avoid further loss of urban green space. But, is there any high restriction in the hadeeth and the fiqh? Would it be opposed to other hadeeths about the warning of vying to build a magnificent tall mosque? This paper discussed about the possibility in designing a vertical mosque in terms of islamic fiqh and architecture. The research aimed to create a design guideline for vertical mosque and to correct some misconceptions in designing a mosque. This research used a qualitative method, namely literature review. Dalam krisis ekonomi yang terjadi di negara kita sejak beberapa waktu lalu,dimana banyak USAha berskala besar yang mengalami stagnasi bahkan berhenti aktifitasnya, sektor USAha Micro Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) lebih tangguh dalam menangani hal tersebut. Saat ini Kementrian Koperasi dan Usaha Kecil Menengah berencana untuk menciptakan 20 juta USAha kecil menengah baru tahun 2020. Kondisi ini membawa sisi positif sekaligus negatif bagi UKM. Menjadi positif apabila produk dan jasa UKM swasta maupun BUMN memilki peran penting memicu pertumbuhan ekonomi masyarakat.Ini merupakan bentuk kepedulian dan tanggungjawab sosial-moral setiap institusi bisnis atau pelaku USAha dalam menunjang UKM menuju Indonesia MDGs (Millenium Development Goal's) upaya menjawab tantangan pasar bebas ASEAN 2015. The Architectural Characteristics Linkage Between Batanghari Hulu's Traditional House with Tanah Datar's Rumah Gadang

Jambi and West Sumatra has shared history from the days of the Old Malay Kingdom, Sriwijaya, Dharmasraya, Malayupura. The traditional house of Rumah Gedang in the Upperstream Batanghari River region seem to have similarities with the Rumah Gadang in the Rantau and Darek Tanah Datar areas. No researcher has tried to discuss the relationship among them. Therefore, this study tries to explore the Architectural Characteristics of the two buildings. This study uses a qualitative method by comparing the architectural characteristics of the two buildings from the data obtained in the field.
