Hidden curriculum refers to all matters influncing the teaching and learning process. This means that hidden curriculum contains practices and educational results not explicitly stated in the written curriculum. This is a field research conducting in STAIN (State College on Islamic Studies) of Purwokerto in 2013. This research used sociological and antrophological approach. The other aproach used in this research was fenomenology and symbolic interactionalism. This is a grounded research in which all analysis were based on data and factsfound in the field. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. Data were analyzed with descriptive qualitative analysis. Hidden curriculum results from the practice of lecturing in which some lecturers do not refer to the curse outline. Hidden curriculum influnced by ideal dimension can be seen from thewill to improve the institution and competency of lecturers andstudents. Behavioral dimension is not influenced by ideal dimension, but it is a cultural expression which is relatively common and spontaneous. Materials of hidden curriculum which are relatively unplanned in the ideal dimension are those which are already customized and out of awareness. Intercropping system of maize and cassava has been practiced widely by Indonesian farmer on dry land. Competition between the plant will happen in the system. Field experiment to understand about the competition has been conducted. Field experiment of growing maize (Arjuna, Pioneer 4, and Cargill 9 in various planting densities) and cassava (Adira 1) was conducted for monoculture and intercropped plants. Intercropped cassava increased intraspesific competition of maize. Yield of maize variety of Arjuna, Pioner 4, and Cargill 9 decreased by about 9.7%, 6.7%, and 16.9% respectively. Maize also reduced growth and yield of cassava. When intercropped with Arjuna, pioner 4, and Cargill 9 at the highest density (80 000 plants ha-1), yield of cassava tuber decreased by about 40.6%, 43% and 64.3%, respectively. However, the intercropping still gave a better land productivity, where land equivalent ratio (LER) was larger than 1.0

The Creation and Destruction of The Universe: Comparison of The Perspectives in Science and The Qur’an

Abstract: This paper aims to analyze the comparison of the concepts of creation and destruction of the universe from the perspective of science and the Qur'an, by analyzing some relevant literature. The majority of the literature used in this paper comes from the ScienceDirect database. The keywords used in the reference search were "Big Bang Theory", "Evolution of the Universe", and "Cosmology". The selection of references is based on the degree to which the source provides a thorough account of the universe's formation and destruction, as well as on the author's ability to grasp the language employed. Based on a review of some literature, there are similarities in terms used by Science and the Qur'an to explain the creation of the universe, but there are also differences not because the Qur'an is not able to explain scientifically, but because the Qur'an explains implicitly, not explicitly. Science has not been able to provide certainty about when the universe ends, as well as the Qur'an which is not written concretely. The comparison of the perspectives on the creation and destruction of the universe from science and the Qur'an offers a thought-provoking journey into the realms of reason and faith. While science provides a methodical and empirical understanding of the cosmos, the Qur'an offers a spiritual and metaphysical interpretation.

Innovative Testing Investigations on the Influence of Particle Morphology and Oil Contamination on the Geotechnical Properties of Sand

Shear strength and the permeability in a soil mass are two prime parameters that characterize the geotechnical behaviour of the soil. These parameters (c', Ø’, k) help assess the bearing capacity and settlement characteristics of foundations, stability of slopes, lateral earth pressure on retaining walls and fluid infiltration. Geo environmental contamination resulting from chemicals and oil spills are becoming very common news and these  alter the inter-particle behaviour of the soil, making it to lose its strength and deformability considerably and also become less permeable. This study focuses on the effects of contamination of sands with different grading size and particle shapes on its shear strength and its coefficient of permeability. Well graded and gap graded sand samples were used in the research. A simple statistical approach was used to define not only the particle size but also its shape distribution. Comparison of the shear strength of these sand samples were tested in an automated motorised direct shear apparatus under both dry and fully saturated conditions (with water and also with oil). The coefficient of permeability of the two sands under clean and contaminated conditions was obtained using a modified falling head permeability test. It was observed that the well graded sand which was submerged in oil apparently had the lowest peak shear strength values. However, a higher order of cohesion was apparent when the soil was contaminated with oil. Permeability was also an issue, as by virtue of its viscosity, the oil hindered the water seepage through the sand samples when compared with clean sands. However, it appeared that with more viscous liquid contaminants, the rate of water infiltration was notably higher. Permeability was also affected by the particle grading and shape distribution. The significant loss in strength and the tortuosity of water flow in the soils can cause major problems such as unwarranted floods and potential failures in civil engineering works. Therefore, the extent of the problem that is caused by oil contamination needs to be truly understood to minimize unwarranted construction risk.&nbsp

The current study examined the information preferences of social media users and its perceived impact on their crop production skills in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Data were collected using an online survey with the help of a structured questionnaire and a convenient sampling methodology. Both descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis were run for analyzing the data. The findings revealed that a majority (81%) of the respondents preferred agricultural information in the form of videos, followed by photos (75%). Moreover, a moderate to high impact was reported by the respondents on their various agricultural skills. The Pearson correlation analysis showed that trust in social media had a significant negative correlation with respondents’ perceived impact on their crop production skills. The correlation analysis further revealed that respondents’ preferences for a particular type of information had a significant positive correlation with the perceived impact of social media on their crop production skills. We conclude that subscribers’ trust in social media and their preference for agricultural information in the form of videos are the critical factors that may shape their behavior positively. The potential agricultural service providers should consider them for serving their clients amid changing needs and preferences

A cross sectional study was conducted to evaluate whole body vibration (WBV) and back pain problem among light rail transit (LRT) driver. This study was carried out to determine exposure level of whole body vibration and identify back pain problem due to whole body vibration exposure among LRT driver. Standardized Nordic questionnaire was used for the analysis of musculoskeletal symptoms, to identify the prevalence of back pain, information about health history, working time duration, and working experiences was obtained from 52 drivers of light rail transit (LRT) train. HVM 100 Larson Davis was used to measure whole body vibration measurement of eight LRTs with different vehicle number. The measurement of whole body vibration was done during operation working time. The data collected from HVM 100 were transferred to the Blaze software for getting the vibration magnitude of the experiment while data collected from survey were analyzed by using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) for statistical analysis. The analysis of graph patterns and the differentiation of magnitude value from each LRT were studied to determine the exposure level of vibration. A high prevalence of back pain (82.7%) among LRT drivers was found and high daily exposure level was obtained. The finding showed that, there are relations between back pain and daily vibration exposure which resulted in a correlation coefficient of 0.709, with significant at α = 0.05. In conclusion, it was expected that the individuals subjected to the high vibration levels would tend to report back pain

Design of Compact Parallel-Connected Chained Function Filters

    Get PDF
The design of compact parallel-connected chained function filters is presented in this paper. The proposed filters will offer reduced sensitivity to manufacturing tolerance within the specified bandwidth in comparison to conventional Chebyshev filters for C-band applications. A new filtering function according to a chained configuration is derived for fourth-order filters, and the synthesis procedures are presented. To demonstrate the feasibility of this approach, the circuit simulation based on parallel-connected topology is performed in an advanced design system, while the design and simulation of a fourth-order filter in dielectric technology are carried out in high-frequency simulation software. The prototype of fourth-order microstrip topology is fabricated using open-loop resonators. The overall circuit size of the filter is 2.5 cm Ă— 4 cm. The achieved simulation and measured insertion/return loss are 0.409 dB/20 dB and 2.674 dB/18.074 dB, respectively. Extensive sensitivity analysis is conducted to prove the fabrication tolerance of the filter. The reduced sensitivity of the proposed filter to manufacturing tolerance is fully demonstrated using an open-loop microstrip technology, and its reliability is proven by theoretical analysis. The prototype results in this research are validated and agree with the theoretical results. In terms of implementation, this design technique will be a very useful mathematical tool for any filter design engineer

Understanding people's views about HIV transmission by investigating a specific population may help to design effective HIV prevention strategies. In addition, knowing the inherent sexual practices of such a population, as well as the risky circumstances that may facilitate HIV transmission, is crucial for the said strategies to become effective. In this article, we report how police officers in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, perceived the problem of HIV and AIDS in their local context, particularly in relation to unsafe sexual practices. The study was done with the view to recommending ways by which HIV transmission could be minimised within the police force. The study was conducted among members of the police force in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Eight focus group discussions (FGDs) were conducted, with a total of 66 participants who were mixed in terms of age, gender, and marital status. Some of these were caregivers to patients with AIDS. Data were analysed using the interpretive description approach. The participants believed that both individual sexual behaviour and work-related circumstances were sources of HIV infection. They also admitted that they were being tempted to engage in risky sexual practices because of the institutional rules that prohibit officers from getting married during their training and for three years after. Nevertheless, as members of the Police Force, they stressed the fact that the risky sexual behaviour that exposes them to HIV is not limited to the force; it is rather a common problem that is faced by the general population. However, they complained, the nature of their job exposes them to road accident victims, subjecting them further to possible infection, especially when they have to handle these road accident casualties without proper protective gear. Individual sexual behaviour and job-related circumstances are worth investigating if proper advice is to be given to the police regarding HIV prevention strategies. In order to improve the lives of these police officers, there is a need to review the existing institutional rules and practices to accommodate individual sexual needs. In addition, improving their working environment may minimize the risk of HIV transmission from handling casualties in emergency situations

Games are one of the advances that are extremely mainstream with youngsters. The issue is, with the presence of games, youngsters and even grown-ups frequently abuse their time, so that games are made into something negative by society. Then again, Indonesian culture is currently progressively being abandoned, one of the variables is innovation like this game. The best arrangement is to join the two, by making an Indonesian cultural game, however education alone is not enough to attract the attention of gamers, since they are worried about ongoing interaction and game storyline, accordingly there should be a decent and designated bundling as a special attraction to players. An exceptional fascination for game players. Indonesian culture as far as understanding is exceptionally wide, relatively few people know about the ancient stories of society and unique things like shamans, the story can be utilized as a fascination for bundling the story in the game in light of the fact that so far there has been no Indonesian game that has taken Indonesian stories and pamali with great designs or appearance. 97% of gamers in Indonesia play games from abroad, this is very unfortunate because many foreign cultures enter through this platform. The research methods used in this research are quantitative. This game was tested on 100 gamer respondents at the Game Prime event in 2019. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it can be concluded that this game is quite interesting both in terms of graphics, mechanics, and cultural content. It will then be published on global platforms.
