Deductive Verification of Unmodified Linux Kernel Library Functions

This paper presents results from the development and evaluation of a deductive verification benchmark consisting of 26 unmodified Linux kernel library functions implementing conventional memory and string operations. The formal contract of the functions was extracted from their source code and was represented in the form of preconditions and postconditions. The correctness of 23 functions was completely proved using AstraVer toolset, although success for 11 functions was achieved using 2 new specification language constructs. Another 2 functions were proved after a minor modification of their source code, while the final one cannot be completely proved using the existing memory model. The benchmark can be used for the testing and evaluation of deductive verification tools and as a starting point for verifying other parts of the Linux kernel.Comment: 18 pages, 2 tables, 6 listings. Spectral signatures of thermal spin disorder and excess Mn in half-metallic NiMnSb

Effects of thermal spin disorder and excess Mn on the electronic spectrum of half-metallic NiMnSb are studied using first-principles calculations. Temperature-dependent spin disorder, introduced within the vector disordered local moment model, causes the valence band at the Γ\Gamma point to broaden and shift upwards, crossing the Fermi level and thereby closing the half-metallic gap above room temperature. The spectroscopic signatures of excess Mn on the Ni, Sb, and empty sites (MnNi_\mathrm{Ni}, MnSb_\mathrm{Sb}, and MnE_\mathrm{E}) are analyzed. MnNi_\mathrm{Ni} is spectroscopically invisible. The relatively weak coupling of MnSb_\mathrm{Sb} and MnE_\mathrm{E} spins to the host strongly deviates from the Heisenberg model, and the spin of MnE_\mathrm{E} is canted in the ground state. While the half-metallic gap is preserved in the collinear ground state of MnSb_\mathrm{Sb}, thermal spin disorder of the weakly coupled MnSb_\mathrm{Sb} spins destroys it at low temperatures. This property of MnSb_\mathrm{Sb} may be the source of the observed low-temperature transport anomalies.Comment: 5 pages, 7 figures, updated version with minor revisions and an additional figure, accepted in Phys. Higgs Triplets, Decoupling, and Precision Measurements

Electroweak precision data has been extensively used to constrain models containing physics beyond that of the Standard Model. When the model contains Higgs scalars in representations other than SU(2) singlets or doublets, and hence rho not equal to one at tree level, a correct renormalization scheme requires more inputs than the three needed for the Standard Model. We discuss the connection between the renormalization of models with Higgs triplets and the decoupling properties of the models as the mass scale for the scalar triplet field becomes much larger than the electroweak scale. The requirements of perturbativity of the couplings and agreement with electroweak data place strong restrictions on models with Higgs triplets. Our results have important implications for Little Higgs type models and other models with rho not equal to one at tree level.Comment: 23 page

Kata kunci : Kualitas pelayanan, harga, kepuasan dan word of mouthABSTRACKThis study aims to determine the effect of service quality and price on satisfaction and its impact on word of mouth on the suzuya mall Banda Aceh. The sample used in this study was 130 respondents from the community of Banda Aceh and the Aceh besar who had shopped at Suzuya Mall. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The Hierarchical Linear Modeling (HLM) method is used to determine the effect of the variables involved. The results of this study indicate that service quality, price and satisfaction have an influence on word of mouth. In addition, the results obtained that the satisfaction variable does not mediate the quality of service and prices for word of mouth. The higher the quality of service and price, the higher satisfaction will be.Keywords: Service quality, price, satisfaction and word of mout

Wireless pressure sensor system for fish quality monitoring

    Get PDF
Food quality monitoring is increasingly important. This paper aims to propose the developed wireless pressure sensor system (WPSS) for fish quality monitoring. WPSS consists of a sensor acquisition module, power supply module, and Bluetooth module. The sensor acquisition module includes a temperature sensor, pressure sensor, and microcontroller unit (MCU). When Bluetooth receives the data collection command from the smartphone, the data of storage temperature and pressure in the food package can be collected by the sensor and transmitted wirelessly to the smartphone through Bluetooth. All data obtained by the system is monitored, stored, processed, and eventually displayed in a smartphone app in real-time to improve temperature, air pressure, and freshness transparency within the food package, ultimately ensuring food quality and safety. The proposed WPSS has potential application in many kinds of food monitoring. It can realize simple and intuitive food quality indications

Conditional nonlinear optimal perturbation and its applications

    Get PDF
Conditional nonlinear optimal perturbation (CNOP) is proposed to study the predictability of numerical weather and climate prediction. A simple coupled ocean-atmosphere model for ENSO is adopted as an example to show its applicability. In the case of climatological mean state being the basic state, it is shown that CNOP tends to evolve into El Niño or La Niña event more probably than linear singular vector (LSV) on the condition that CNOP and LSV are of the same magnitude of norm. CNOP is also employed to study the prediction error of El Niño and La Niña events. Comparisons between CNOP and LSV demonstrate that CNOP is more applicable in studying the predictability of the models governing the nonlinear motions of oceans and atmospheres
