ON THE USE OF THE COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH AT SCHOOL LEVEL IN HUALPÉN: A QUALITATIVE STUDY

The Chilean Ministry of Education frameworks the teaching of English, by and large, in the Communicative Approach (CA). However, the current results show a poor performance between students when using the English language. A communicative curriculum does not assure the use of the language communicatively. This issue has been studied in different countries with similar results. It would be essential to know what it is happening in our national context for future decision-making. This study attempts to determine the degree of congruence between the methodologies used within English classrooms and the tenets proposed by the CA, in three municipal schools in Hualpén. To this end, data was collected from three English language teachers and five students randomly selected from each the three teachers’ classes. A semi-structured interview was used with the former participants and a focus interview with the latter. Also, a content analysis procedure was used to carefully examine the teachers’ lesson plans. The results suggest despite the use of different proposals of the CA, communicative competence is not being enhanced among students who do not have the possibility to use the English language as a communicative tool

Notas acerca de la epigrafía granadina: Ordo Accitanorum Veterum y Colonia Iulia Gemella Acci

It is analyzed in this work a new document epigraphic appeared in the Farm of Periate (Piñar, Granada ) in the one that mentions you for the first time in the Iberian Península the Ordo Accitanorum Veterum and an individual, L. Aemilius Propinquus, to who is denominated accitanus veteris. The Hispanic municipalities are studied with the nickname Vetus: Astigi, Tucci and Acci, reaching the conclusion that these, after the foundation of their respective colonies, continued existing as independent municipalities, although they had to give part of their territory and, in occasions, to pay a compensation to Rome . The appearance of this document in Periate, where Acci Vetus is located, it is an evident test of the continuity of the municipality during the High Empire.Se analiza en este trabajo un nuevo documento epigráfico aparecido en el Cortijo de Periate (Pinar, Granada) en el que se menciona por primera vez en la Península Ibérica el Ordo Accitanorum Veterum y un individuo, L. Aemilius Propinquus, a quien se denomina accitanus veteris. Se estudian los municipios hispanos con el sobrenombre Vetus: Astigi, Tucci y Acci, llegando a la conclusión de que éstos, tras la fundación de sus respectivas colonias, siguieron existiendo como municipios independientes, aunque tuvieron que ceder parte de su territorio y, en ocasiones, pagar una indemnización a Roma. La aparición de este documento en Periate, donde se localiza Acci Vetus, es una prueba evidente de la continuidad del municipio durante el Alto Imperio

An Energy-Based Approach to Satellite Attitude Control

The aim of this paper is to present a novel control strategy of the satellite attitude control problem on an energy-based setting. Controlling the orientation with respect to an inertial frame of reference becomes challenging in presence of nonlinear disturbances such as the gravity-gradient torque. We make use of the advantages of representing the system under study via the port-Hamiltonian framework due to its clear control design philosophy. The key strategies depend on position and velocity measurements, together with and integral action of the system's output. Finally, numerical simulation results are provided to demonstrate effectiveness

El Bronx, la nueva tendencia: renovación del Voto Nacional. Arquitectura + intervención + revitalización

Artículo de gradoCon este proyecto, se pretende plantear una nueva opción para mejorar las condiciones actuales en el sector del Bronx en la ciudad de Bogotá, el cual presenta graves condiciones de seguridad, consumo y tráfico de drogas, prostitución y población infantil vulnerable. Teniendo clara la situación mencionada anteriormente, para proyectar una solución viable desde el Taller de Diseño, se realizó un estudio minucioso a todos y cada uno de los factores que harían parte del proceso transformador; en este sentido se analizó la historia urbanística del sector, que permitirían mitigar la problemática y recuperar esta zona tan deprimida de la Capital del país. Este proyecto pretende realizar una intervención significativa para la revitalización del sector, así como la activación del espacio urbano por medio de la creación de un eje que conecta la Plaza España con el Hospital San José.
