Fast Fashion Assessment Tool: A Case Study of a Moroccan Apparel Supply Chain

    Get PDF
In order to increase their profit margins and international expansion, many international fashion brands implemented a new supply chain strategy named fast fashion. It is a strategy that aims to rapidly get the trendiest fashion clothes in the stores. Several Moroccan fashion retailers tried to copy the fast fashion business model in order to get a responsive supply chain and a high profit margin. Thus, they need a practical tool to ensure that the fast fashion elements are properly implemented. This paper develops an assessment tool using a maturity evaluation model. This maturity assessment tool has been tested at a Moroccan fast fashion retailer. This pilot test adopted a qualitative research methodology with data collected using semi-structured interviews from a single retailer case operating in Moroccan apparel industry. The fast fashion assessment tool enables fashion retailers managers to have a view of the implementation progression and to eventually locate problems and mobilise other tools and mechanisms to explore them

Study of different strategies for splitting variables in multidisciplinary topology optimization

This paper is devoted to the minimization of the thickness of an elastic structure under competitive loadings. We propose to determine an equilibrium thickness using game theory. We consider two loads exercised separately on two parts of the plate and we aim to optimize both compliances so we deal with a multiloading optimization problem. Firstly, the design variable is taken to be the thickness of the plate. In a second step, we assume that the thickness depends on two independent functions, that we consider as strategies. The multidisciplinary optimization problem is solved as a non-cooperative game and we determine a Nash equilibrium. Finally, some numerical simulations are presented and discuted

A new algorithm for approaching Nash equilibrium and Kalai Smoridinsky solution

International audienceIn the present paper, a new formulation of Nash games is proposed for solving general multi-objective optimization problems. The main idea of this approach is to split the optimization variables which allow us to determine numerically the strategies between two players. The first player minimizes his cost function using the variables of the first table P, the second player, using the second table Q. The original contribution of this work concerns the construction of the two tables of allocations that lead to a Nash equilibrium on the Pareto front. On the other hand, we search P and Q that lead to a solution which is both a Nash equilibrium and a Kalai Smorodinsky solution. For this, we proposed and tried out successfully two algorithms which calculate P, Q and their associated Nash equilibrium, by using some extension of Normal Boundary Intersection approach (NBI)

Is there any advantage to combined trastuzumab and chemotherapy in perioperative setting her 2neu positive localized gastric adenocarcinoma?

We report here a 44-year-old Moroccan man with resectable gastric adenocarcinoma with overexpression of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) by immunohistochemistry who was treated with trastuzumab in combination with chemotherapy in perioperative setting. He received 3 cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy consisting of trastuzumab, oxaliplatin, and capecitabine. Afterwards, he received total gastrectomy with extended D2 lymphadenectomy without spleno-pancreatectomy. A pathologic complete response was obtained with a combination of trastuzumab and oxaliplatin and capecitabine. He received 3 more cycles of trastuzumab containing regimen postoperatively

We are interested here, in multi-criteria optimization problem using game theory. This problem will be treated by using a new algorithm for the splitting of territory in case of concurrent optimization, which presents a new formulation of Nash games between two players using two tables of allocations. Each player minimizes his cost function using the variables allocated by his own table. The two tables are given by an iterative algorithm. An image processing problem is addressed by using the proposed algorithms.
