PROGRAMAS DE LENIÊNCIA, CORRUPÇÃO E O PAPEL DA CORREGEDORIA DA AUTORIDADE ANTITRUSTE

Leniency programs have shown to be an important tool to fight cartels. By reducing fees or guaranteeing imunity against criminal prosecution, leniency programs provide incentives to cartelized firms to reveal the cartel activities. We reveal the recent literature on leniency programs as well as some real world experiences. Then we introduce corruption of the antitrust authorities into Motta and Polo's (2003) model and analyse its effects. We show that in order for the government to implement some parameters associated with leniency programs, it has to spend some money too to reduce corruptibility. Such spending may not always pay.

O Uso de Dados de Alta Freqüência na Estimação da Volatilidade e do Valor em Risco para o Ibovespa

This paper investigates the use of high frequency data in the estimation of daily and intradaily volatility, in order to compute value at risk (VaR) forecasts for the IBOVESPA. GARCH models and deterministic methods for the filtering of seasonal patterns have been used in the computation of intraday volatility and VaR forecasts. For daily VaR two simple methods seek to extract the volatility information conveyed by the high frequency data. The first method is based on the sample standard deviation with a moving window, while the second is based on exponencially wheighted moving average. Both methods tested presented good performance. For intraday VaR the results indicate that the filtering of the seasonal pattern is a fundamental step in obtaining useful forecasts of volatility and VaR.

The VISCACHA survey : IV. The SMC West Halo in 8D

The structure of the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) is very complex, in particular in the periphery that suffers more from the interactions with the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). A wealth of observational evidence has been accumulated revealing tidal tails and bridges made up of gas, stars, and star clusters. Nevertheless, a full picture of the SMC outskirts is only recently starting to emerge with a 6D phase-space map plus age and metallicity using star clusters as tracers. In this work, we continue our analysis of another outer region of the SMC, the so-called West Halo, and combined it with the previously analysed Northern Bridge. We use both structures to define the Bridge and Counter-bridge trailing and leading tidal tails. These two structures are moving away from each other, roughly in the SMC–LMC direction. The West Halo form a ring around the SMC inner regions that goes up to the background of the Northern Bridge shaping an extended layer of the Counter-bridge. Four old Bridge clusters were identified at distances larger than 8 kpc from the SMC centre moving towards the LMC, which is consistent with the SMC–LMC closest distance of 7.5 kpc when the Magellanic Bridge was formed about 150Myr ago; this shows that the Magellanic Bridge was not formed only by pulled gas, but it also removed older stars from the SMC during its formation. We also found age and metallicity radial gradients using projected distances on sky, which are vanished when we use the real 3D distances

Utilização da hipodermóclise em pessoas idosas no ambiente domiciliar: protocolo de revisão de escopo

The aim is to map and summarize scientific productions on the use of hypodermoclysis in elderly people in the home environment. The scoping review will be conducted under recommendations from the JBI Institute and Prisma-Scr. This scoping review will search for sources of evidence in full texts of primary studies and gray literature theses and dissertations, available in the main databases: PubMed, CINAHL, SCOPUS, Web of Science, Science Direct, and SciELO. As an exclusion criterion, review studies (secondary) or those that do not meet the PCC mnemonic combination will not be included: P Population – Health Caregivers; C Concept – Hypodermoclysis; C Context – Domiciled elderly person. In this review there will be no language restrictions, however, a time frame was established starting in 2009. The selection of studies will be made by two independent reviewers using the Endnote and Rayyan software, while a third will resolve differences between them. For extraction, analysis of evidence, and synthesis of knowledge, a structured data extraction tool developed by the JBI Institute and adapted by reviewers will be used to meet the objective and main question of the research. In the final scoping review, there will be a description of the research results and the process of including articles in the study.Objetiva-se mapear e sumarizar as produções científicas sobre o uso da hipodermóclise em pessoas idosas no ambiente domiciliar. A revisão de escopo será conduzida de acordo recomendações do Instituto JBI e Prisma-Scr. Esta revisão de escopo buscará fontes de evidência em textos completos de estudos primários e na literatura cinzenta teses e dissertações, disponíveis nas principais bases de dados: PubMed, CINAHL, SCOPUS, Web of Science, Science Direct e SciELO. Como critério de exclusão, não serão incluídos os estudos de revisão (secundários) ou que não atendam a combinação mnemônica PCC: P Population – Cuidadores de Saúde; C Concept – Hipodermóclise; C Context – Pessoa idosa domiciliada. Nessa revisão não haverá restrição de idioma, entretanto estabeleceu-se um recorte temporal a partir do ano de 2009. A seleção dos estudos será feita por dois revisores independentes utilizando os softwares Endnote e Rayyan, enquanto um terceiro resolverá divergências entre esses. Para extração, análise das evidências e síntese do conhecimento será utilizado uma ferramenta de extração de dados estruturada desenvolvido pelo Instituto JBI e adaptado pelos revisores para atender ao objetivo e questão principal da pesquisa. Na revisão de escopo final haverá descrição dos resultados da pesquisa e do processo de inclusão dos artigos no estudo

ANÁLISE DE AMEAÇA DE DESLIZAMENTOS PELO USO DE ABORDAGEM PROBABILÍSTICA APLICADA A UM MODELO DE ESTABILIDADE DE TALUDES TRIDIMENSIONAL

Este artigo aplica uma formulação probabilística a um modelo de estabilidade de taludes tridimensional para definir a ameaça quantitativa associada a deslizamentos rasos em termos de probabilidade de ruptura. A análise do problema utiliza um modelo de equilíbrio limite 3D de estabilidade de taludes que considera a ação da precipitação por meio de modelos de infiltração capazes de simular o avanço da frente úmida e a variação do nível freático em função de um dado evento pluviométrico. De forma adicional, a probabilidade de ruptura foi obtida pelo uso de um método probabilístico das estimativas pontuais, que insere a variabilidade de alguns parâmetros do solo e fornece a distribuição probabilística do fator de segurança. A metodologia foi empregada para o mapeamento da ameaça de deslizamentos deflagrados por chuvas em uma região do Distrito Federal, Brasil, considerada com alto potencial de ocorrência de eventos desta natureza. Como resultado, configurações com a distribuição das probabilidades de rupturas foram alcançadas, possibilitando distinguir a condição de estabilidade das encostas envolvidas no estudo

Endometriose e adolescência: atraso diagnóstico e o papel da enfermagem

The aim was to discuss the relationship between endometriosis and adolescence in the focus of early diagnosis and its delay, as well as to correlate the role of nursing in this context. It is a reflective study. The result of the analysis is a rescue of the historical aspects of the disease, which aims at a cautious position regarding metaphorical interpretations about the feminine. Finally, the article addressed endometriosis that affects adolescents, understanding that the genesis for a delay in diagnosis is anchored in a silencing, under the aegis of gender, of signs and symptoms related to menstrual cramps. Therefore, the proposal was to contribute to the discussion based on the role of nurses in this scenario, especially in primary health care, evoking the nursing consultation as a fundamental relational space for diagnostic suspicion.Objetivou-se discutir sobre a relação entre a endometriose e a adolescência no enfoque do diagnóstico precoce e seu atraso, assim como, correlacionar o papel da enfermagem neste contexto. Trata-se de estudo reflexivo. Resulta-se dá análise um resgate dos aspectos históricos da doença, que visa um posicionamento acautelado acerca de interpretações metafóricas sobre o feminino. Por fim, o artigo abordou a endometriose que afeta as adolescentes, compreendendo que a gênese para um atraso no diagnóstico ancora-se num silenciamento, sob a égide de gênero, dos sinais e sintomas relacionados às cólicas menstruais. Portanto, a proposta foi contribuir com a discussão a partir do papel do enfermeiro neste cenário, sobretudo, na atenção primária em saúde evocando a consulta de enfermagem enquanto espaço relacional fundamental para suspeição diagnóstica
