The classical double copy for Taub-NUT spacetime
The double copy is a much-studied relationship between gauge theory and
gravity amplitudes. Recently, this was generalised to an infinite family of
classical solutions to Einstein's equations, namely stationary Kerr-Schild
geometries. In this paper, we extend this to the Taub-NUT solution in gravity,
which has a double Kerr-Schild form. The single copy of this solution is a
dyon, whose electric and magnetic charges are related to the mass and NUT
charge in the gravity theory. Finally, we find hints that the classical double

Spatially resolved physical and chemical properties of the planetary nebula NGC 3242
Optical integral-field spectroscopy was used to investigate the planetary
nebula NGC 3242. We analysed the main morphological components of this source,
including its knots, but not the halo. In addition to revealing the properties
ofthe physical and chemical nature of this nebula, we also provided reliable
spatially resolved constraints that can be used for future photoionisation
modelling of the nebula. The latter is ultimately necessary to obtain a fully
self-consistent 3D picture of the physical and chemical properties of the
object. The observations were obtained with the VIMOS instrument attached to
VLT-UT3. Maps and values for specific morphological zones for the detected
emission-lines were obtained and analysed with routines developed by the
authors to derive physical and chemical conditions of the ionised gas in a 2D
fashion. We obtained spatially resolved maps and mean values of the electron
densities, temperatures, and chemical abundances, for specific morphological
structures in NGC 3242. These results show the pixel-to-pixel variations of the
the small- and large-scale structures of the source. These diagnostic maps
provide information free from the biases introduced by traditional single
long-slit observations. In general, our results are consistent with a uniform
abundance distribution for the object, whether we look at abundance maps or
integrated fluxes from specified morphological structures. The results indicate
that special care should be taken with the calibration of the data and that
only data with extremely good signal-to-noise ratio and spectral coverage

Representation of Nelson Algebras by Rough Sets Determined by Quasiorders
In this paper, we show that every quasiorder induces a Nelson algebra
such that the underlying rough set lattice is algebraic. We
note that is a three-valued {\L}ukasiewicz algebra if and only if
is an equivalence. Our main result says that if is a Nelson
algebra defined on an algebraic lattice, then there exists a set and a

Semiclassical description of resonant tunneling
We derive a semiclassical formula for the tunneling current of electrons
trapped in a potential well which can tunnel into and across a wide quantum
well. The calculations idealize an experimental situation where a strong
magnetic field tilted with respect to an electric field is used. The resulting
semiclassical expression is written as the sum over special periodic orbits
which hit both walls of the quantum well and are perpendicular to the first

The development of intergroup bias in childhood: how social norms can shape children's racial behaviours

It tested the hypothesis that White children's expressions of racial prejudice do not necessarily decline in middle childhood due to the development of particular cognitive skills but that instead, as argued by the socio-normative approach, children older than seven will go on expressing prejudiced attitudes under appropriate conditions. This would be explained by the presence of an anti-racism norm, along with the existence of values promoting equal rights, which impede blatant expressions of racism. In the first study 283 White children aged 6-7 and 9-10 years performed a task of resource allocation to White and Black target children in conditions of high (White interviewer was present) or low (White interviewer was absent) salience of the anti-racist norm. The 6- to 7-year-old children discriminated against the Black target in both conditions whereas older children discriminated against the Black child only when the anti-racist norm was not salient. In Study 2, 187 White children aged 6- 7 and 9-10 years performed the same resource allocation task in conditions of explicit activation of similarity vs dissimilarity or egalitarian vs merit-based norms regarding race relations. Supporting the hypothesis of the role of racist or anti-racist norms on the expression of intergroup discrimination, results have again shown that 6- to 7year-old children discriminated against the Black target in both conditions while older children presented significantly different prejudiced/nonprejudiced behaviours consistent with the activated norms. These results were discussed in terms of the need for a reanalysis of the assumptions and research results of the cognitive-developmental theory and of further developments in the socio-normative approach regarding the development of prejudice in childhood
Some boundary effects in quantum field theory
We have constructed a quantum field theory in a finite box, with periodic
boundary conditions, using the hypothesis that particles living in a finite box
are created and/or annihilated by the creation and/or annihilation operators,
respectively, of a quantum harmonic oscillator on a circle. An expression for
the effective coupling constant is obtained showing explicitly its dependence

Atomic and nano-scale characterization of a 50-year-old hydrated C3S paste
This paper investigates the atomic and nano-scale structures of a 50-year-old hydrated alite paste. Imaged by TEM, the outer product C-S-H fibers are composed of particles that are 1.5-2 nm thick and several tens of nanometers long. 29Si NMR shows 47.9% Q1 and 52.1% Q2, with a mean SiO4 tetrahedron chain length (MCL) of 4.18, indicating a limited degree of polymerization after 50 years' hydration. A Scanning Transmission X-ray Microscopy (STXM) study was conducted on this late-age paste and a 1.5 year old hydrated C3S solution. Near Edge X-ray Absorption Fine Structure (NEXAFS) at Ca L3,2-edge indicates that Ca2 + in C-S-H is in an irregular symmetric coordination, which agrees more with the atomic structure of tobermorite than that of jennite. At Si K-edge, multi-scattering phenomenon is sensitive to the degree of polymerization, which has the potential to unveil the structure of the SiO44 - tetrahedron chain
