A generalized differential transform method for linear partial differential equations of fractional order

    Get PDF
In this letter we develop a new generalization of the two-dimensional differential transform method that will extend the application of the method to linear partial differential equations with space- and time-fractional derivatives. The new generalization is based on the two-dimensional differential transform method, generalized Taylor’s formula and Caputo fractional derivative. Several illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the present method. The results reveal that the technique introduced here is very effective and convenient for solving linear partial differential equations of fractional order

This paper presents a description and analysis for solar air-conditioning system for automobiles which at the end reduces fuel consumption when it is operated to get comfort in automobiles cabins. Coefficient of performance is used as a measure to compare the traditional air conditioning systems and solar system.  It is found that COP of solar AC automobiles is better than other traditional AC systems, no fuel consumption by using solar AC systems in automobiles, also it is found that just one panel of photovoltaic cells is required to offer the required power needed to derive  AC for the studied automobile. X.509 certificate error testing

    Get PDF
X.509 Certificates are used by a wide range of technologies to verify identities, while the SSL protocol is used to provide a secure encrypted tunnel through which data can be sent over a public network. Combined both of these technologies provides the basis of the public key infrastructure (PKI). While the concept of PKI is a good idea, the different implementation of the technologies in different operating system and clients often lead to weaknesses. This paper proposes a methodology to automate the testing of SSL clients by generating both bogus and malformed certificates in order to evaluate the client’s response and identify potential threats to network infrastructures

Trust models in wireless sensor networks: A survey

This paper introduces the security and trust concepts in wireless sensor networks and explains the difference between them, stating that even though both terms are used interchangeably when defining a secure system, they are not the same. The difference between reputation and trust is also explained, highlighting that reputation partially affects trust. The methodologies used to model trust and their references are presented. The factors affecting trust updating are summarised and some examples of the systems in which these factors have been implemented are given. The survey states that, even though researchers have started to explore the issue of trust in wireless sensor networks, they are still examining the trust associated with routing messages between nodes (binary events). However, wireless sensor networks are mainly deployed to monitor events and report data, both continuous and discrete. This leads to the development of new trust models addressing the continuous data issue and also to combine the data trust and the communication trust to infer the total trust. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg

Socio-cultural interaction of Arab immigration groups with Australian host society

Immigration has had a substantial impact on the Australian population over the past four decades. During this period there has been a significant change both in the number of new arrivals and the origins of these settlers. The Jordanian community, as one of the smallest ethnic groups in Australia, is represented in almost every state in Australia. The first significant Jordanian immigration to Australia occurred in the 1970s. Since then Jordanian immigration to Australia has increased, especially after 1991 because of the Gulf crisis and because the Jordanian government began sending students to Australia to continue their studies. Also, a significant number of Jordanians became Australian permanent residents and thereby contributed to the fast growth of the established Jordanian community in Australia. This thesis shed lights on the Jordanian groups that immigrated to Australia along with issues relating to the Australian Jordanian community, which is now not only one of the smallest communities in Australia but also one of the most recognisable. The thesis draws an historical and contemporary picture of Jordanians in Australia, including those who stayed in this country after completing their study. This research investigates a wide range of factors, such as the pull and push that drove the population movement from Jordan to Australia. It also investigates the various factors that have interacted with each other to influence the Jordanians’ decision to migrate to Australia. The study reveals that Jordanian migrants in Australia have often made a smooth transition in their lives in their new country. While the dynamics between migrants from the Middle East and the rest of Australian society has faced many challenges both before and after the event of September 11, 2001, Jordanian immigrants continue to adapt economically and culturally to Australian society and life-style. Furthermore, Jordanian students in Australia are likely to be skilled migrants and to apply for migration status after completing their studies because they believe that Australia will continue to grow faster than other Western countries, and their stay in Australia will help their family back home. This study offers convincing evidence that Jordanian immigrants play a very important, albeit modest role, in promoting business in Australia. Most of the people whom I interviewed have their own business and this study sheds light on the dynamics of small business ownership, the contribution of Jordanians to this field and its cultural significance to Australian society. Finally this study concludes with some recommendations for further studies associated with Jordanians inside and outside Jordan

The study aimed to reveal the prevalence of avoidant personality disorder among Yarmouk University students and whether there are differences in the prevalence rate according to the variables: gender, college, and academic level. The study sample consisted of (742) male and female students who were chosen by the convenient method. To achieve the objectives of the study, the Avoidant Personality Disorder Scale was used, which was built according to (DSM-5) criteria. The results showed that the prevalence of avoidant personality disorder among the sample members was (6.30%), which is within the global average. The study results showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the prevalence due to variables gender, college, and academic level. The study came out with recommendations, the most important of which is the need to reveal the prevalence of avoidant personality disorder among different groups in society in general

The Development of Liberalism and What It Can Present to the Arab World in the Current Situation: Case Study on Jordan

    Get PDF
This research paper tries to discuss the development of liberalism and what it can bring to the Arab world. Moreover, it includes a case study on the results of the application of some aspects of social and economic liberalism in Jordan. The results revealed that liberalism cannot bring so much to the Arab countries in the current situation, because these countries are still not ready for the implementation of liberalism. There are many challenges which have to be overcome before liberalism can be beneficially applied. Many substantive changes in the social and economic system in these countries must be carried out in order to be able to apply liberalism successfully. In regard to the case study on Jordan, social liberalism has been partly applied and proven to be beneficial, whereas the Jordanian economy is still not ready for economic liberalism, where some essential changes should be made. The study aimed to analyze the pre-service science teachers' (PSSTs) understanding about scientific inquiry and their confidence in Inquiry-Based Science Pedagogy. The study population composed of all the students of the 4th year/ 8th level enrolled with the program of pre-service teachers' preparation at the faculty of science and arts/ Najran University. Four sources of data was used: Structured focus group interviews; teaching performance observation card; Course content evaluation, In addition to a specific questionnaire developed according to the Likert-type scale (five-dimensional), which designed to support and confirm findings from the primary data sources. The data analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively then compared from all sources to generate assertions. The study appeared that most of the PSSTs have deficiency in understanding of the concept of scientific inquiry and some have misconceptions about it. And they have narrow and insufficient look about the nature of scientific inquiry nature, forms and levels, and its characteristics. Moreover, some PSSTs demonstrated fear and concern about the use of inquiry-based teaching in science teaching, while others showed their desire to use it in the future .The study indicate to failure of the teaching course to give the PSSTs adequate teaching skills and self-confidence to teach the science that is based on scientific inquiry. The study recommended to introduce inquiry processes in the university science curricula, and design a course for science teaching centered on inquiry and the strategies based on it.
