    The congruence effect between product emotional appeal and country-based emotion: The moderating role of country-of-origin

    Previous research has suggested that country-based emotions (i.e., emotions associated with a country) can influence consumer evaluations of a product from thatcountry. However, it remains unclear when and how country-based emotions can be influential in consumer decision making. The results from an experiment revealthat only for a destination with a less favorable country-of-origin image will the match (vs. mismatch) between the country-based emotion and the emotional appealof the product advertisement increase the purchase likelihood of the product. Thesefindings are beneficial for local brands in that they can promote tourist spendingat their destination by cooperating with destination marketers in developing integrated promotional campaigns that elicit congruent emotions

    A new class of sum rules for products of Bessel functions

    In this paper we derive a new class of sum rules for products of the Bessel functions of first kind. Using standard algebraic manipulations we extend some of the well known properties of JnJ_n. Some physical applications of the results are also discussed. A comparison with the Newberger[J. Math.     Synthesis of Sulfonamides Incorporating Piperidinyl-Hydrazidoureido and Piperidinyl-Hydrazidothioureido Moieties and Their Carbonic Anhydrase I, II, IX and XII Inhibitory Activity

    Here we report a small library of hydrazinocarbonyl-ureido and thioureido benzenesulfonamide derivatives, designed and synthesized as potent and selective human carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (hCAIs). The synthesized compounds were evaluated against isoforms hCA I, II, IX and XII using acetazolamide (AAZ) as standard inhibitor. Several urea and thiourea derivatives showed inhibitory activity at low nanomolar levels with selectivity against the cytosolic hCA II isoform, as well as the transmembrane, tumor-associated enzymes hCA IX and XII. The thiourea derivatives showed enhanced potency as compared to urea analogues. Additionally, eight compounds 5g, 5m, 5o, 5q, 6l, 6j, 6o and 6u were selected for docking analysis on isoform I, II, IX, XII to illustrate the potential interaction with the enzyme to better understand the activity against the different isoforms

    A small series of hydrazonobenzenesulfonamides was designed, synthesized and studied for their human carbonic anhydrase (hCA) inhibitory activity.     Emission of short-lived halocarbons by three common tropical marine microalgae during batch culture

    Very short-lived halocarbons of marine biogenic origin play an important role in affecting tropospheric and stratospheric chemistry. In recent years, more attention has been paid to tropical regions where the influence of strong convective forces is responsible for rapid uplifting of the volatile organohalogens from the open surface waters into the atmosphere. This laboratory-based study reports on three common tropical marine microalgae capable of emitting a range of short-lived halocarbons, namely, CH3I, CHBr3, CH2Br2, CHBr2Cl, and CHCl3. Chlorophyll a and cell density were highly correlated to the quantity of all five compounds emitted (p < 0.01). The diatom Amphora sp. UMACC 370 had a higher range of CH3I emission rate (10.55–64.18 pmol mg−1 chl a day−1, p < 0.01) than the cyanobacterium Synechococcus sp. UMACC 371 and chlorophyte Parachlorella sp. UMACC 245 (1.04–3.86 pmol mg−1 chl a day−1 and 0–2.16 pmol mg−1 chl a day−1, p < 0.01, respectively). Furthermore, iodine was the dominant halogen emitted in terms of total combined halide mass of all three species. Overall, the emissions of short-lived halocarbons were both species- and growth phase-dependent, highlighting the importance of considering cell physiological conditions when determining gas emission rates

    Pattern of radiographic findings in patient with gunshot injuries in university of maiduguri teaching hospital.

    Gunshot injuries (GSI) are a global public health problem and causes considerable problem in developing countries. Objectives: To determine the radiographic pattern of findings of gunshot injuries with its age and sex association and to find out its causes and anatomical part most involved. Method: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted reviewing 397 records of patients with gunshot injuries with age range from 6-70 years, from December 2010 to December 2012, in Accident and emergency department of University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital. Ethical clearance was obtained from the research ethical committee of the institution. Data collected was organized into groups according to age, sex, cause of gunshot injuries, patterns of findings and anatomical part affected. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 16.0 statistical software package, where the mean, percentages and frequencies were calculated. Result: The result showed that more males 92.7% were affected than the females 7.3% with a ratio of 13:1. More teenagers,within the age group of 11-20 years (20.4%) and young adults with age range from 21-30 years (38.3%) were mostly affected.Secondary assault 84.13% and armed robbery attack 10.8% were the highest cause of gunshot injuries. Fracture 44.8%, soft tissue bullets pellets injury 31.9% were the common findings, with the lower limb 53.6% and the upper limb 30.2% were the anatomical site commonly affected. Conclusion: The study found that more males were affected than the female with a ratio of 13:1. Extremities were the anatomical site commonly affected, with fractures and pellet injuries as the common injuries. Secondary assault (insurgence) and armed robbery attack were the major causes of these injuries which affected the most active age group (11-30 years) in the society

    Personalized Cytokine-Directed Therapy With Tocilizumab for Refractory Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor-Related Cholangiohepatitis.

    For patients with corticosteroid (CS)-refractory immune checkpoint inhibitor-related cholangiohepatitis (irCH), no consensus exists regarding treatment, and outcomes remain poor. We evaluated the possibility of personalized treatment according to the patient's cytokine profile and the immunohistopathologic assessment of the predominant immune infiltrate type of liver tissue. NSCLCs with CS-refractory irCH were analyzed by immunohistochemistry of liver biopsy specimen, serum cytokine panel, and assessment of peripheral blood mononuclear cell immune cell monitoring by mass cytometry. A total of three consecutive patients with irCH were identified. We found a predominant T-cell infiltrate and an interferon-gamma or T helper 1 proinflammatory cytokine profile. Here, we report for the first time that a T-cell-targeted therapy with the interleukin (IL)-6 receptor-neutralizing antibody tocilizumab, which inhibits signaling downstream of interferon-gamma and several other Janus kinase-dependent cytokines, is an effective single cytokine-directed therapy for CS-refractory irCH. Three patients with severe, CS-refractory irCH who were treated with tocilizumab were found to have persistent clinical and biological remission. Dysregulation of the IL-6/T-cell axis may contribute to the pathogenesis of CS-refractory irCH. Our observations suggest that IL-6 blockade seems to have promise in the treatment of CS-refractory irCH. The results from our three patients need to be confirmed in a larger patient population

    OMA is an established resource to elucidate evolutionary relationships among genes from currently 2326 genomes covering all domains of life. OMA provides pairwise and groupwise orthologs, functional annotations, local and global gene order conservation (synteny) information, among many other functions. This update paper describes the reorganisation of the database into gene-, group- and genome-centric pages. Other new and improved features are detailed, such as reporting of the evolutionarily best conserved isoforms of alternatively spliced genes, the inferred local order of ancestral genes, phylogenetic profiling, better cross-references, fast genome mapping, semantic data sharing via RDF, as well as a special coronavirus OMA with 119 viruses from the Nidovirales order, including SARS-CoV-2, the agent of the COVID-19 pandemic.
