Four novel losartan analogues 5a-d were synthesized by connecting a dihydropyridine nucleus to imidazole ring. The effects of 5a and 5b on angiotensin receptors (AT1) and L-type calcium channels were investigated on isolated rat aorta. Materials and MethodsAortic rings were pre-contracted with 1 µM Angiotensin II or 80 mM KCl and relaxant effects of losartan, nifedipine, 5a and 5b were evaluated by cumulative addition of these drugs to the bath solution.ResultsThe results showed that compounds 5a and 5b have both L-type calcium channel and AT1 receptor blocking activity. Their effects on AT1 receptors are 1000 and 100,000 times more than losartan respectively. The activity of compound 5b on L-type calcium channel is significantly less than nifedipine but compound 5a has comparable effect with nifedipine. ConclusionFinally we concluded that these two new Compounds can be potential candidates to be used as effective antihypertensive agents

Background: Non-melanoma skin cancers including basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma are the most common malignant diseases in human. The aim of this study was to determine the expression of the P63 marker in common skin cancers and non-tumoral skin lesions and compared the difference between them. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, sampling was performed from the archive of sample blocks from patients admitted in Shahid Mohammadi Hospital during 2010-2011. Sixty samples (including 30 samples of non-tumoral skin lesions and 30 samples including basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma) were studied. The evaluation of p63 gene expression was performed using immunohistochemistry method. Student’s T-test and Chi-square test were used for analysis of the data. Results: P63 gene were expressed in 4 cases (13.33 %) of non_tumoral lesions and all tumoral lesions (100%). In tumoral lesions, 5 cases (16.66 %) showed 1+ severity expression, 11 cases (36.66%) 2+severity expression and 14 cases (46.66 %) 3+severity expression. All 4 non-tumoral lesions showed 1+severity expression of P63gene. Conclusion: The results of this study indicated that the frequency and severity of gene expression of P63 could be used for differentiation between basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma as well as non-tumoral skin lesions

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of three components of transaction costs including uncertainty, specific assets and frequency on outsourcing and also to investigate the specific assets and uncertainty on open innovation abroad among banking financial technology companies based in Tehran. The research method was descriptive-correlational, based on which the required information was collected randomly among 123 managers of technology companies by compiling and distributing a researcher-made questionnaire. The results of the analysis of research data with the help of structural equation modeling technique and partial least squares approach show that the increase of specific assets reduces outsourcing and increases the export of open innovation. Rising uncertainty reduces outsourcing and increases open export exports. Increasing the frequency of exchanges also reduces outsourcing

The Correction of a Void Contract in Jurisprudence and Law of Iran

    Get PDF
"Voidness" is a status on which no legal effect is exercised according to the law. Although this status is contrary to the rule in Islamic law, it has significant examples in Islamic law. An examination in jurisprudential and legal books shows that scholars of jurisprudence and law have tried to reduce the scope of this legal status and reduce its examples by creating institutions such as withdrawal of the contract, the principle of correctness and the theory of spiritual commonality. In this regard, according to the examples of correction of void contracts in Islamic law, we can reach a comprehensive and complete theory called "correction of void contracts", which on the one hand compared to similar comprehensive institutions and on the other hand It has far fewer problems than such institutions. Correction of a void contract means that a void contract is corrected by removing the invalid causes or changing and transforming the annulled elements of the contract. In this research, we intend to examine the aspects of this theory and to assess its validity in the balance of jurisprudence and law. The result shows that there is no serious problem in correcting a void contract from a jurisprudential and legal point of view, and this legal act can be considered as one of the legal theories along with other institutions limiting the scope of voidness

This study has been investigated price regimes of two prime index in the world oil market(Brent and WTI) based on weekly data over the period 2003/1/3-2007/5/25 (before financial crisis) and 2009/3/6-2012/12/14(after financial crisis) by using marko regime switching model whit dynamic autoregressive coefficient. The results show that the model MSMAH(3)-AR(2) is the optimal model for description price regimes of Brent and WTI index before and after the financial crisis. Also the recent financial crisis causes a change in dominate price regime of Berent while WTI tends to stay in the its previous regime. This may lead to the abnormal price spreads between them after the financial crisis. in our opinions, the reasons for this are attributed to their difference fundamentals drivers and closely related whit the recent dynamics in crude oil market

Yet, few studies have been conducted in this area for teenagers. This study aimed at assessing the correlation between religious attitude and general health among high school girls.Method: Correlation method was employed in this research.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The sample included 120 female high school students aged 16.6±.52, selected from 4 different schools. Research materials included Golriz and Baraheni’s questionnaire about religious attitude and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28). The collected data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and linear regression. In this research, all the Ethical issues were observed and authors declared no conflicts of interest. Results: The results indicate a significant relation between religious attitudes and three subscales including anxiety symptoms and sleep disorder, and social function as well as depression symptoms (p<.01). However, there was no significant relationship between the religious attitude and physical function subscale (p>.05).Conclusion: The results of the study clearly demonstrate the impact of religious attitudes on the students’ general health. In other words, the general health status in individuals can be predicted by religious attitudes. For downloading the full-text of this article please click here. Please cite this article as: RafeeKhah M, Dashti D, Naqizadeh Moqari Z, Esmaili Sadrabadi M. Volatile components of leaves of Melissa officinalis L. (Lamiaceae family) from Iran were investigated. Essential oils were isolated by hydrodistillation from leaves of Melissa officinalis. Twenty-one constituents in the leaves oil were identified. Major constituents of the leaves oil were: trans-b-ocimene (4.5%), citronellal (3.21%), cadinol isomer (3.45%), neral (4.32%), geranial (8%), bcaryophyllene (16%), b-cubebene (10.21), calarene (4.32%), b-cadinene (4%), sesquiterpene alcohol (10.43%) and a-cadinol(9.05%). However, there were significant differences among the rates of those reported components. In conclusion, it is worthwhile to screen the commonly used plants from the local flora for different biological activities because they might present a new alternative source for possible bioactive substances

Traffic crash accidents in Tehran, Iran: Its relation with circadian rhythm of sleepiness. Sadeghniiat-Haghighi K1, Yazdi Z, Moradinia M, Aminian O, Esmaili A. Abstract PURPOSE: Road traffic accidents are one of main problems in Iran. Multiple factors cause traffic accidents and the most important one is sleepiness. This factor, however, is given less attention in our country. Road traffic accidents relevant to sleepiness are studied. METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, all road traffic accidents relevant to sleepiness, which were reported by police, were studied in Tehran province in 2009. RESULTS: The risk of road traffic accidents due to sleepiness was increased by more than sevenfold (odds ratio = 7.33) in low alertness hours (0:00-6:00) compared to other time of day. The risk of road traffic accidents due to sleepiness was decreased by 0.15-fold (odds ratio = 0.15) in hours with maximum of alertness (18:00-22:00) of circadian rhythm compared to other time of day. CONCLUSION: The occurrence of road traffic accidents due to sleepiness has significant statistical relations with driving during lowest point of alertness of circadian rhythm. PMID: 2616908
