The exploration of relationship between organizational commitment and organizational learning mechanism is still new and not much work has been done. Although there have been several studies reported on training and organizational commitment in the Western, very little has been utilize in respect of the local professionals in Malaysia. This research investigates the association between four factors in organizational learning mechanism (learning environment, identifying learning and
development needs, meeting learning and development needs, and applying learning in a workplace). For that reason OLM instrument named Learning Environment Questionnaire (LEQ) were used. This instrument consist 65 items blend in twelve scales to study the four dimensions. Both organizational and occupational commitment studied by using the three
dimension of commitment (affective commitment, continuance commitment, and normative commitment). A few demographic factors were also studied to see the relationship with the commitment. Result of the study shows that OLM were
strongly related with the organizational commitment. Factor of work experience and age group at least in the studied organizational shows no differences with the affective, continuance and organizational commitment. Education level also doesn’t seem to have any differences towards the organizational commitment and his dimensions
Rancher's self-efficacy on practicing sustainable edible-nest swiflet ranching practices
The demand for edible-nest is increasing over the years. Ranchers as a key player in this industry plays a vital role in keeping the industry sustainable for a long term. This study was aimed to identify factors that lead to rancher’s self-efficacy on practicing sustainable practices. The study revealed five factors that associated with sustainable ranching practices. Policy makers are recommended to provide a proper attention on extension services towards implementing sustainable ranching practices to the ranchers
An empirical study of worldwide governance indicators as determinants of debt maturity structure for public and private debt securities in Malaysia and Singapore
This study examines worldwide governance indicators (WGI) as new
potential additional determinants for debt maturity structure of public and private debt securities in Malaysia and Singapore. 745 listed Malaysian (537 listed firms) and Singaporean (208 listed firms) nonfinancial firms for the period of year 1996 until 2016 are utilizes in explaining the relationship between WGI and debt maturity structure. Overall, decision of Malaysian and Singaporean firms regarding their debt maturity structure in the past strongly influence by its current and future decision. Moreover, all elements in WGI are more important in influencing debt maturity structure of public or private debt securities in developing country like Malaysia as compared to developed country like Singapore. Finding of this study offers some policy implication as it assists in controlling and stimulating the firms’ demand for long-term public and private debt securities which contribute towards conducive and healthy business environment and maintain stable economic growth
