Solvable multi-species extensions of the drop-push model

A family of multispecies drop-push system on a one-dimensional lattice is investigated. It is shown that this family is solvable in the sense of the Bethe ansatz, provided a nonspectral matrix equation is satisfied. The large-time behavior of the conditional probabilities, and the dynamics of the particle-type change are also investigated

Annihilation-diffusion processes: an exactly solvable model

A family of diffusion-annihilation processes is introduced, which is exactly solvable. This family contains parameters that control the diffusion- and annihilation- rates. The solution is based on the Bethe ansatz and using special boundary conditions to represent the reaction. The processes are investigated, both on the lattice and on the continuum. Special cases of this family of processes are the simple exclusion process and the drop-push model.Comment: 11 pages, LaTe

Design of a compact planar transmission line for miniaturized rat-race coupler with harmonics suppression

This paper presents an elegant yet straightforward design procedure for a compact rat-race coupler (RRC) with an extended harmonic suppression. The coupler’s conventional λ /4 transmission lines (TLs) are replaced by a specialized TL that offers significant size reduction and harmonic elimination capabilities in the proposed approach. The design procedure is verified through the theoretical, circuit, and electromagnetic (EM) analyses, showing excellent agreement among different analyses and the measured results. The circuit and EM results show that the proposed TL replicates the same frequency behaviour of the conventional one at the design frequency of 1.8 GHz while enables harmonic suppression up to the 7th harmonic and a size reduction of 74%. According to the measured results, the RRC has a fractional bandwidth of 20%, with input insertion losses of around 0.2 dB and isolation level better than 35 dB. Furthermore, the total footprint of the proposed RRC is only 31.7 mm ×15.9 mm, corresponding to 0.28λ×0.14λ , where λ is the guided wavelength at 1.8 GHz.This work was supported in part by the Icelandic Centre for Research (RANNIS) Grant 206606051, and in part by the National Science Centre of Poland Grant 2017/37/B/ST7/00563

    Exclusion Processes and boundary conditions

A family of boundary conditions corresponding to exclusion processes is introduced. This family is a generalization of the boundary conditions corresponding to the simple exclusion process, the drop-push model, and the one-parameter solvable family of pushing processes with certain rates on the continuum [1-3]. The conditional probabilities are calculated using the Bethe ansatz, and it is shown that at large times they behave like the corresponding conditional probabilities of the family of diffusion-pushing processes introduced in [1-3].Comment: 11 pages, LaTeX2

Design of a Compact Neutron Detector with Flat Response in energy range from 5-20 MeV

    Get PDF
One of the requirements of neutron detection in wide energy range is a detector with flat response. In this work, a compact neutron detector for energy range from 5-20 MeV has been introduced. The detector has two small spherical 3He proportional counters (PC) placed inside a cylindrical polyethylene moderator. Flat response (sensitivity) of the detector has been optimized according to the counters positions inside the moderator. Optimization carried out using MCNP4C Monte Carlo code and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Results show that the flatness of the sensitivity response of the introduced detector has been increased compared to the conventional detectors

Exactly solvable models through the generalized empty interval method: multi-species and more-than-two-site interactions

Multi-species reaction-diffusion systems, with more-than-two-site interaction on a one-dimensional lattice are considered. Necessary and sufficient constraints on the interaction rates are obtained, that guarantee the closedness of the time evolution equation for Ena(t)E^{\mathbf a}_n(t)'s, the expectation value of the product of certain linear combination of the number operators on nn consecutive sites at time tt.Comment: 10 pages, LaTe

Introduction: Polymyxin B has been applied as one of the last-resort antibiotics for the treatment of multidrug resistance among Gram-negative bacterial infections. Due to side effects such as renal toxicity, the use of polymyxin is associated with limitations. The present study evaluates in vitro antibacterial activity of a number of polymyxin B commercial products against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Methods: This study included 63 non-duplicated P. aeruginosa isolates examined for in vitro polymyxin B suscepti¬bility testing using the following powder disks: polymyxin B sulfate, otosporin, Poly-Mxb, and Myxacort. MIC50 and MIC90 have also been identified for polymyxin B antibiotics. Results: Myxacort had functional activity against most P. aeruginosa isolates, and only seven isolates had a relative¬ly high MIC. The activities of Poly-MXb and Myxacort were the same as otosporin. Conclusions: Our findings revealed that the national generic polymyxin B product (Myxacort), and two external products (Otosporin, Poly-MXb) are similar in terms of microbiological activity

Evaluation of life expectancy in Kurdistan Province, Iran, during the years 2006 and 2016

BACKGROUND: Life expectancy index is used in assessing changes in the health status of Kurdistan Province community, Iran, especially among the elderly, the difference in the health levels of women and men, and also the economic levels and the desired changes. This study aimed to evaluate the life expectancy in the age groups in Kurdistan Province using demographic information and mortality based on age and sex during the years 2006 and 2016.METHODS: In this study, life expectancy was used for calculating life table according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Death information was extracted based on age groups and using demographic data of the statistical centers; in addition, the raw mortality rate was extracted according to age groups and calculated using Chiang method in the stage of life expectancy by sex and location. To analyze the data, Stata 12 and Excel software packages were used for calculations.RESULTS: Life expectancy at birth in Kurdistan Province in the whole population was equal to 74.56 and 78.31 years in 2006 and 2016, respectively, and this rate was higher among women compared to men.CONCLUSION: Extensive factors including medical and health status, well-being, nutrition status and quality, etc., affect the life expectancy index in different societies, and promotion of each criterion increases the life expectancy. It is necessary to establish required fields for establishing these indicators at the provincial level by creating a complete and accurate record of mortality and illness

A family of one-dimensional multi-species reaction-diffusion processes on a lattice is introduced. It is shown that these processes are exactly solvable, provided a nonspectral matrix equation is satisfied. Some general remarks on the solutions to this equation, and some special solutions are given. The large-time behavior of the conditional probabilities of such systems are also investigated.Comment: 13 pages, LaTeX2
