    Authenticity of Electronic Signature Under Jordanian Legislation

    The novelty of electronic signature and its instability in the legislation of the Jordanian electronic transactions system and this is attributed to the novelty modern electronic transaction laws as a whole; whereas the temporary Jordanian electronic transactions law no. (85) Of 2001 was the beginning of recognition of the electronic dealing, despite the passage of years after the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Signatures with its last amendments in 2001. What demonstrates the instability of the electronic signature system is the introduction of the legislature for the vocabulary of the public key, private key, protected signature and signature transactions documented in Law No. (15) Of 2015.The research on the attitude of the Jordanian legislator for a system of electronic signature and its legal value and the adopted legal policy made known about it, because as we shall see in this research, the legislature established a distinction between authenticities granted by the electronic signatures to the instrument depending on the electronic documentation.     A New 4-DOF Robot for Rehabilitation of Knee and Ankle-Foot Complex: Simulation and Experiment

    Stationary robotic trainers are lower limb rehab robots which often incorporate an exoskeleton attached to a stationary base. The issue observed in the stationery trainers for simultaneous knee and ankle-foot complex joints is that they restrict the natural motion of ankle-foot in the rehab trainings due to the insufficient Degrees of Freedom (DOFs) of these trainers. A new stationary knee-ankle-foot rehab robot with all necessary DOFs is developed here. A typical rehab training is first implemented in simulation, and then tested on a healthy subject. Results show that the proposed system functions naturally and meets the requirements of the desired rehab training.Comment: 23 pages, 14 figure

    Prevalence of anemia and new onset atrial fibrillation in patient come to imam hossein hospital emergency department

    Background: Recognition of association between anemia and new onset atrial fibrillation would result in better therapeutic approaches and better prognosis. Hence, the purpose was to determine the prevalence of anemia and new onset atrial fibrillation (AF) in patient come to Imam Hossein hospital emergency department.Materials and Methods: In the observational study that performed as a case-control survey, 150 consecutive addicted patients in imam hossein hospital emergency department in 2018 were enrolled including those with and without AF in electrocardiogram (EKG) and the frequency rate of anemia among groups was determined and compared.Results: The results in this study demonstrated that 43 patients (27.8%) had anemia that was seen in 36% and 21.3% in case and control groups, respectively with statistically significant difference (p=0.047).Conclusion: Totally, according to the obtained results there was significant association between anemia and new onset atrial fibrillation

    Value of Admission HbA1c Level in Non-diabetic Patients With Unstable Angina

    Introduction: There have been incompatible evidences about the prognostic value of HbA1c on the adverse outcomes in acute coronary syndrome. Also, these data are so limited in nondiabetic patients with unstable angina.Methods: In this cross-sectional study, HbA1c level of 231 nondiabetic patients admitted with unstable angina, was measured using high performance liquid affinity chromatography (HPLC) at admission. Then transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) was performed for evaluation of ejection fraction (EF) using Simpson method.Results: Our data revealed that HbA1c was significantly higher in patients with EF≤ 50% in comparison with EF>50% group (P value=0.01).Conclusions: HbA1c may be a helpful prognostic marker in nondiabetic patients admitted in emergency department with diagnosis of unstable angina

    Hematological and Biochemical Alterations due to Over Dosage of Enrofloxacin in Cats

    Enrofloxacin, an antimicrobial agent used to treat bacterial diseases is well tolerated by cats at recommended dosage (5 mg/kg). To investigate the tolerance of high-dose of the Hipralona Enro-I® (5% enrofloxacin solution) in cats, 28 urban cats (11 males and 17 females) between the weight of 1.3 and 2.4 kg were randomly assigned to a control group (n=4) and three treatment groups (n=8). Each treatment groups were injected low-dose enrofloxacin (5 mg/kg, IM), high-dose enrofloxacin (15 mg/kg, IM), and very high-dose enrofloxacin (25 mg/kg, IM) once daily for seven consecutive days. Blood samples were collected from jugular vein before injection of enrofloxacin in the hind limb muscles of cats as self-control, and at 3rd, 7th, 14th, and 21st days after first drug injection. Samples were tested for various hematological and serum biochemical parameters. The systemic tolerance during experiment was investigated via monitoring of behavior and general physical examination. Hematological and serum biochemical parameters were not significantly different between groups. In addition, there was no statistically difference between various sampling days for any treatment group in each parameter. Furthermore, there was no change in the behavior and the general health condition of cats in the control and the three experimental groups. As serum biochemical indications of hepatotoxication and nephrotoxication were not observed. It was concluded that muscular injection of enrofloxacin in doses up to 25 mg/kg (5ED50) for seven consecutive days was tolerated by cats

    Nonlinear Active Noise Control Using Adaptive Wavelet Filters

    This paper deals with nonlinear active noise control using adaptive wavelet filters. The ability of wavelets in signal reconstruction and function approximation make them appealing for black box system identification. Moreover, the intrinsic similarity between wavelet filters and noise/vibration signals implies that better approximation of these signals can be achieved by employing wavelet filters. Here, a new simple structure for using in active noise control system is proposed comprises a nonlinear static mapping cascaded with an IIR filter to take care of the dynamics of the system. With this strategy, one can avoid using multi-dimensional wavelet networks and thus eliminate curse of dimensionality. The performance of the proposed ANC system is examined for typical linear/nonlinear cases. The simulation results demonstrate superior performance of this method in terms of fast convergence rate and noise attenuation as well as computational complexity reduction while avoiding curse of dimensionality

    The effects of letrozole-induced maternal hyperandrogenism on sexual behaviors, testicular histology, and serum biochemical traits in male offspring rats: An experimental study

    Background: Intrauterine endocrine abnormalities have profound effects on the development of physiological disorders. Objective: This study aimed to assess the effects of in utero exposure to letrozole (an aromatase inhibitor) and its late consequences on the reproductive and metabolic performance of an adult male offspring. Materials and Methods: 15 pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats (8 wk, 155 gr) were randomly assigned into 5 experimental groups (n = 3/each) and orally received either letrozole at doses of 0.25, 0.75, 1.00, and 1.25 mg/kg body weight (BW) or vehicle (control) on the gestation days of 16, 17, and 18. Pregnancy outcome, sexual behaviors on postnatal day 60, serum biochemical features, and the histopathology of testes were assessed in male offspring. Results: Compared to control group, delayed labor (21.83 vs. 24.25, p < 0.0001) and reduced litter size (n = 12.25 vs. n = 2, p < 0.0001) were recorded in 1.25 mg/kg BW group. A reduction in high-density lipoprotein level and the elevation of testes weight, BW gain, anogenital distance, as well as the serum concentrations of testosterone, triglycerides, cholesterol, and glucose were observed in 1.25 mg/kg BW (p < 0.0001) and 1.00 mg/kg BW (p < 0.0001) groups in comparison to control. A larger number of anogenital female sniffing, pursuit, and mounting behaviors were also observed in 1.25 mg/kg BW group in comparison to control (p < 0.0001). Severe testicular defects including necrosis and disruption of the epithelium of seminiferous tubules, sloughing of epithelial cells, and spermatogenesis arrest were observed in letrozole-treated groups, in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion: Maternal exposure to letrozole can adversely affect the reproductive and metabolic performance of male offspring rats, suggesting an incomplete sex differentiation.
