Úspěchy Odin Teatret ve vývoji fyzického herectví a autorské režii kontrastují s československým Bílým divadlem, které slouží jako příklad laboratoře, jež v rámci politických okolností neměla možnost...This thesis, entitled Farm in the Cave-a Laboratory Theatre, presents Viliam Dočolomanský's International Theatre Studio Farm in the Cave based in Prague, Czech Republic as an aspect of the discourse of 'laboratory theatres.' The first part examines the concept of the 'laboratory theatres' that developed in the 1960s as a new 'genre' of theatre practice and a 'method' of creating performances based on physical expression; this is presented as distinct from the 'theatre laboratories' that emerged at the beginning of the 20th century mostly in the framework of institutions as 'schools' for actors. As such, this thesis introduces the changes that came with Jerzy Grotowski's manifestos in connection to his easily adaptable training for actors and idea of 'physical scores.' Laboratory theatres' background and interests are presented as alternative theatre practice that emerged from a need of 'searching for truth' through the body what evolved into counterculture attitude. The first part establishes Eugenio Barba's Odin Teatret as an independent laboratory that developed on the margins of the contemporary theatre community and evolved into an influential culture institution. Odin Teatret's achievements in developing physical acting and original theatre directing are set in confrontation with the...Departement of Theatre StudiesKatedra divadelní vědyFilozofická fakultaFaculty of Art
Certain subphenotypes of aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease distinguished by latent class analysis
Background: Aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD)
is recognized as a distinct asthma phenotype. It usually has a
severe course accompanied by chronic hyperplastic eosinophilic
sinusitis with nasal polyps, blood eosinophilia, and increased
concentrations of urinary leukotriene E4 (LTE4). More
insightful analysis of individual patients shows this group to be
nonhomogeneous.
Objective: We sought to identify any likely subphenotypes in a
cohort of patients with AERD through the application of latent
class analysis (LCA).
Methods: Clinical data from 201 patients with AERD (134
women) were collected from questionnaires. Standard
spirometry, atopy traits, blood eosinophilia, and urinary LTE4
concentrations were evaluated. LCA was applied to identify
possible AERD subphenotypes.
Results: Four classes (subphenotypes) within the AERD
phenotype were identified as follows: class 1, asthma with a
moderate course, intensive upper airway symptoms, and blood
eosinophilia (18.9% of patients); class 2, asthma with a mild
course, relatively well controlled, and with low health care use
(34.8% of patients); class 3, asthma with a severe course, poorly
controlled, and with severe exacerbations and airway
obstruction (41.3% of patients); and class 4, poorly controlled
asthma with frequent and severe exacerbations in female
subjects (5.0% of patients). Atopic status did not affect class
membership. Patients with particularly intensive upper airway
symptoms had the highest levels of blood eosinophilia and the
highest concentrations of urinary LTE4.
Conclusions: LCA revealed unique AERD subphenotypes, thus
corroborating the heterogeneity of this population. Such
discrimination might facilitate more individualized treatment
in difficult-to-treat patients
Teatr jako gabinet luster o inspiracjach antropologicznych przedstawienia Farmy w Jaskini
The article presents the Czech laboratory-theatre Farma v jeskyni (Farm in the Cave) and its last performance, entitled The Theatre. It simultaneously addresses the anthropological inspirations influencing the form and subject of the performance: particularly two expeditions to Brazil during which the group came in contact with Afro-Brazilian culture, its theatrical forms, dance and musical motifs. Through a description of certain scenes of the play, the set design, the props and the stage action, the author shows these inspirations within the closed material of the artistic work. She considers the transposed significance of the utilised motifs, the function of the theatre in theatre, the role of the spectator and the actor-slave parallel

Shared Space practices self-interviewing
Kluczowe cele PW:
budowanie pozainstytucjonalnej wspólnoty twórczyń i twórców opartej na trosce i zaufaniu;
możliwość eksploracji indywidualnych i kolektywnych praktyk artystycznych;
Konceptualna, kolektywna praca nad badaniem ruchu (movement research) w sytuacji pandemii umożliwia nam rozwój praktyk w okresie utrudnionego kontaktu i prekarnego funkcjonowania artystek i artystów. Różnorodność naszych wrażliwości, doświadczeń zdobywanych w wielu środowiskach twórczych i miejscach na świecie uważamy za atut wzbogacający dynamikę spotkań i samoorganizację grupy.
