Sintering behavior of ultrafine silicon carbide powders obtained by vapor phase reaction
The sintering behavior of ultrafine SiC powder with average particle size of about 0.01-0.06 microns produced by a vapor phase reaction of the Me4Si-H2 system was studied at the temperature range of 1400-2050 deg. It was found that the homogeneous dispersion of C on SiC particles is important to remove the surface oxide layer effectively. B and C and inhibitive effect on SiC grain growth
Persistent Homology Over Directed Acyclic Graphs
We define persistent homology groups over any set of spaces which have
inclusions defined so that the corresponding directed graph between the spaces
is acyclic, as well as along any subgraph of this directed graph. This method
simultaneously generalizes standard persistent homology, zigzag persistence and
multidimensional persistence to arbitrary directed acyclic graphs, and it also
allows the study of more general families of topological spaces or point-cloud
data. We give an algorithm to compute the persistent homology groups
simultaneously for all subgraphs which contain a single source and a single
sink in arithmetic operations, where is the number of vertices in
the graph. We then demonstrate as an application of these tools a method to
overlay two distinct filtrations of the same underlying space, which allows us
to detect the most significant barcodes using considerably fewer points than

Polarised target for Drell-Yan experiment in COMPASS at CERN, part I
In the polarised Drell-Yan experiment at the COMPASS facility in CERN pion
beam with momentum of 190 GeV/c and intensity about pions/s interacted
with transversely polarised NH target. Muon pairs produced in Drel-Yan
process were detected. The measurement was done in 2015 as the 1st ever
polarised Drell-Yan fixed target experiment. The hydrogen nuclei in the
solid-state NH were polarised by dynamic nuclear polarisation in 2.5 T
field of large-acceptance superconducting magnet. Large helium dilution
cryostat was used to cool the target down below 100 mK. Polarisation of
hydrogen nuclei reached during the data taking was about 80 %. Two oppositely
polarised target cells, each 55 cm long and 4 cm in diameter were used.
Overview of COMPASS facility and the polarised target with emphasis on the
dilution cryostat and magnet is given. Results of the polarisation measurement
in the Drell-Yan run and overviews of the target material, cell and dynamic

Analytical and clinical evaluation of an electrochemiluminescence immunoassay for the determination of CA 125
The CA 125 II assay on the Elecsys(R) 2010 analyzer was evaluated in an
international multicenter trial. Imprecision studies yielded within-run
CVs of 0.8-3.3% and between-day CVs of 2.4-10.9%; CVs for total
imprecision in the manufacturer's laboratory were 2.4-7.8%. The linear
range of the assay extended to at least 4500 kilounits/L (three decades).
Interference from triglycerides (10.3 mmol/L), bilirubin (850 micromol/L),
hemoglobin (1.1 mmol/L), anticoagulants (plasma), and several widely used
drugs was undetectable. Method comparisons with five other CA 125 II
assays showed good correlation but differences in standardization. A 95th
percentile cutoff value of 35 kilounits/L was calculated from values
measured in 593 apparently healthy (pre- and postmenopausal) women. In 95%
of patients with benign gynecological diseases CA 125 was </=190
kilounits/L; 63% of patients with newly diagnosed ovarian carcinoma had
values >190 kilounits/L. A comparison of CA 125 values obtained with the
Elecsys test and with other common CA 125 tests in monitored patients
being treated for ovarian cancer showed identical patterns. In conclusion,
the Elecsys CA 125 II assay is linear over a broad range, yields precise
and accurate results, is free from interferences, and compares well with
other assays
Effect of combined resistance and aerobic training on reactive hyperemia in men
Abstract Reduced response to reactive hyperemia (RH) in the extremities reflects impaired endothelium-dependent vasodilation of the microvasculature. The aims of the present study were to determine whether resistance training and a combination of aerobic and resistance training increase the endothelial vasodilation of the forearm assessed by RH. A total of 39 young men were assigned to either high-intensity resistance training (HIR; six types of exercises, 80% 1RM 9 10 repetitions 9 3 sets, n = 14) or moderate-intensity resistance training (MIR; six types of exercises, 50% 1RM 9 16 repetitions 9 3 sets, n = 14) or a combination of high-intensity resistance training and moderate-intensity endurance training (COMBO; HIR and 60% maximal heart rate 9 30 min, n = 11) groups. We measured forearm blood flow response to RH before and after 4 months of exercise intervention. All training groups increased maximal strength in all muscle groups tested (all P \ 0.05). After 4 months of training, the forearm blood flow during RH increased significantly in the MIR and COMBO groups, from 57 ± 4 to 66 ± 7 ml/min per 100 ml tissue and from 59 ± 6 to 74 ± 8 ml/min per 100 ml tissue, respectively (both P \ 0.05). There was no change in the response to RH in the HIR groups. In conclusion, the findings in this study demonstrate that combined resistance and aerobic training may affect the vasoreactivity response to RH in the forearm, but not resistance training alone
