    Patching up the monopole potential

It is well known that a vector potential cannot be defined over the whole surface of a sphere around a magnetic monopole. A recent claim to the contrary is shown to have problems. It is explained however that a potential of the proposed type works if two patches are used instead of one. A general derivation of the Dirac quantization condition attempted with a single patch is corrected by introducing two patches. Further, the case of more than two patches using the original Wu-Yang type of potential is discussed in brief.Comment: 6 page

Comparative Analysis of Transcription Start Sites Using Mutual Information

The transcription start site (TSS) region shows greater variability compared with other promoter elements. We are interested to search for its variability by using information content as a measure. We note in this study that the variability is significant in the block of 5 nucleotides (nt) surrounding the TSS region compared with the block of 15 nt. This suggests that the actual region that may be involved is in the range of 5–10 nt in size. For Escherichia coli, we note that the information content from dinucleotide substitution matrices clearly shows a better discrimination, suggesting the presence of some correlations. However, for human this effect is much less, and for mouse it is practically absent. We can conclude that the presence of short-range correlations within the TSS region is species-dependent and is not universal. We further observe that there are other variable regions in the mitochondrial control element apart from TSS. It is also noted that effective comparisons can only be made on blocks, while single nucleotide comparisons do not give us any detectable signals

The present study describes the occurrence of dermatophytes and their antifungal susceptibility in healthy rabbits kept on a farm or in a household as companion animals. Out of 614 animals examined, 146 samples (23.78%) were positive for dermatophytes by direct microscopic examination, and the dermatophytes were isolated from 112 samples (112/146, 76.71%). The four predominant species of dermatophytes isolated from healthy rabbits were Trichophyton mentagrophytes (37.5%), Microsporum gypseum (25%), Microsporum nanum (21.43%) and Microsporum canis (16.07%). The kits younger than 6 months of age showed a relatively higher occurrence rate, and male animals showed significantly higher occurrence than the females (P<0.05). Occurrence of dermatophytes in the studied rabbits was higher in summer and autumn than in spring and winter (P<0.05). Itraconazole (0.03-0.5 μg/mL), ketoconazole (0.06-0.5 μg/mL), miconazole at 0.03-0.5 μg/mL and 0.03-.25 μg/mL concentrations showed the lowest MIC values against T. mentagrophytes, M. canis, M. nanum and M. gypseum, respectively. However, fluconazole and griseofulvin showed the highest MIC value against the isolates, indicating antifungal resistance.U radu je opisan nalaz dermatofita i njihova osjetljivost na protugljivične lijekove u zdravih kunića držanih na farmi ili u domaćinstvu kao kućni ljubimci.

Precision Farming Has a Positive Potential in the Agricultural Industry Regarding Water Conservation, Increased Productivity, Better Development of Rural Areas, and Increased Income. Blockchain Technology is a Better Alternative for Storing and Sharing Farm Data as It is Reliable, Transparent, Immutable, and Decentralized. Remote Monitoring of an Agricultural Field Requires Security Systems to Ensure that Any Sensitive Information is Exchanged Only among Authenticated Entities in the Network. to This End, We Design an Efficient Blockchain-Enabled Authenticated Key Agreement Scheme for Mobile Vehicles-Assisted Precision Agricultural Internet of Things (IoT) Networks Called AgroMobiBlock. the Limited Existing Work on Authentication in Agricultural Networks Shows Passive Usage of Blockchains with Very High Costs. AgroMobiBlock Proposes a Novel Idea using the Elliptic Curve Operations on an Active Hybrid Blockchain over Mobile Farming Vehicles with Low Computation and Communication Costs. Formal and Informal Security Analysis Along with the Formal Security Verification using the Automated Validation of Internet Security Protocols and Applications (AVISPA) Software Tool Have Shown the Robustness of AgroMobiBlock Against Man-In-The-Middle, Impersonation, Replay, Physical Capture, and Ephemeral Secret Leakage Attacks among Other Potential Attacks. the Blockchain-Based Simulation on Large-Scale Nodes Shows the Computational Time for an Increase in the Network and Block Sizes. Moreover, the Real-Time Testbed Experiments Have Been Performed to Show the Practical Usefulness of the Proposed Scheme

AbstractObjectiveTo evaluate the wound healing and antimicrobial activity of root extracts of Ixora coccinea (I. coccinea).MethodsTo investigate the wound healing efficacy of root extract of I. coccinea Linn, five groups of animals were divided each containing six animals. Two wound models including incision and excision wound models were used in this study. The parameters studied were tensile strength on incision wound model and in terms of wound contraction for excision wound model were compared with standard Nitrofurazone (NFZ) ointment (0.2% w/w). Six extracts (ethanol, aqueous, petroleum ether, benzene, chloroform and ethyl acetate) of I. coccinea were screened for in vitro growth inhibiting activity against different bacterial strains viz, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus pumilius, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and fungi Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger were compared with the standard drugs ciprofloxacin and chloramphenicol for antibacterial and griseofulvin for antifungal screening. The serial dilution and cup (or) well plate methods were used for the antimicrobial study and MIC was determined.ResultsThe ethanolic extract showed significant (P<0.001) wound healing activity when compared to standard drug NFZ with respect to normal control group. Amongst all, ethanolic extract showed highly significant antibacterial activity against all bacterial strains used in this study when compared to standard. The aqueous extract showed moderate significant inhibition against all bacterial strains when compared to standard. All the extracts were shown negligible activity against the fungal strains used in this study.ConclusionsThe ethanolic root extract of I. coccinea showed pronounced wound healing and antibacterial activity. The probable reason to heal the wound was that the external application of the extract prevented the microbes to invade through the wound thus the protection of wound occurs against the infection of the various organisms
