Hydrologic Data for Urban Studies in the Austin, Texas metropolitan area, 1974
This technical report includes information on the watershed features, hydrologic instruments used, storm rainfall-runoff records, monthly and yearly weighted mean rainfall and discharge data from Waller Creek at 38th and 23rd Street.The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Texas Water hydrologic studies in the Austin urban area of this project are as follows: 1. To determine the effects of progressive urbanization on infiltration, rates of peak discharge, and rainfall- runoff relations in the Waller Creek watershed. 2. To provide rainfall and runoff data from the rural Wilbarger Creek watershed to be used for comparative purposes in determining the effects of existing and progressive urbanization in the Waller Creek watershed. 3. To provide applied research facilities for studies at the University of Texas at Austin.
The purpose of this report is to present rainfall and runoff data for the Waller Creek and Wilbarger Creek study areas for the 1974 water
year (October 1, 1973 to September 30, 1974).

Presence and species identity of rumen flukes in cattle and sheep in the Netherlands
The purpose of the study was to gain knowledge about the prevalence and identity of rumen flukes (RF) in cattle and sheep in the Netherlands. Routine faecal examinations of diagnostic submissions between May 2009 and September 2014 showed a mean annual herd or flock RF prevalence of 15.8% for cattle and 8.0% for sheep. Prevalence in cattle was higher after 2012 than before, which may reflect a change in detection method as well as an increase in true prevalence. During November and December 2014, an abattoir survey was conducted to allow for scoring of rumen fluke burden and to obtain specimens for molecular species characterization. Over 8 visits to 5 abattoirs in areas deemed to pose a high risk for trematode infection, 116 cows and 41 sheep from 27 herds and 10 flocks were examined. Prevalence of RF was higher in beef cattle than in dairy cattle and higher in cattle than in sheep. Median fluke burden was >100 specimens per animal for most positive animals.
Using a semi-quantitative RF density score as a gold standard, sensitivity and specificity of a modified quantitative Dorsman egg counting method were estimated at 82.6% and 83.3%, respectively.
Of 14 collected adult rumen flukes, twelve (8 bovine and 4 ovine specimens) were identified as Calicophoron daubneyi. The other two, of bovine origin, were identified as Paramphistomum leydeni, which was unexpected as in other European countries all recently collected rumen flukes in both cattle and sheep were identified as C. daubneyi. The findings implicate that multiple rumen fluke species, intermediate host species and transmission cycles may play a role in rumen fluke infections in the Netherlands

An Ensemble Kalman-Particle Predictor-Corrector Filter for Non-Gaussian Data Assimilation
An Ensemble Kalman Filter (EnKF, the predictor) is used make a large change
in the state, followed by a Particle Filer (PF, the corrector) which assigns
importance weights to describe non-Gaussian distribution. The weights are
obtained by nonparametric density estimation. It is demonstrated on several
numerical examples that the new predictor-corrector filter combines the
advantages of the EnKF and the PF and that it is suitable for high dimensional
states which are discretizations of solutions of partial differential

A Study of Diabetes Content in Associate and Baccalaureate Schools of Nursing
Nurses play a critical role in promoting quality diabetes patient care. The practice patterns of the generalist nurse are established in undergraduate nursing programs. It is therefore critical that the information delivered to the diabetic patient reflect the most recently identified priorities of diabetes care. The American Diabetes Association Council on Education conducted a survey to determine the extent to which diabetes content is addressed in the curricula of nursing schools. Data collected from associate and baccalaureate degree nursing faculty revealed a majority of didactic content focused on topics related to diabetic pathophysiology, followed respectively by information regarding the therapeutic regimen and educational or psychological concepts associated with diabetes management. The majority of clinical learning took place in acute care settings, minimizing student exposure to nonacute, outpatient practice experiences focusing more on issues of diabetes self-management. A majority of faculty responsible for teaching diabetes content had attended continuing education courses to obtain information to use with other teaching materials. Further research is needed to better define the diabetes practice objectives of the generalist nurse and to translate these findings to the nursing faculty responsible for teaching this content. Two-photon final states in peripheral heavy ion collisions
We discuss processes leading to two photon final states in peripheral heavy
ion collisions at RHIC. Due to the large photon luminosity we show that the
continuum subprocess can be observed with a
large number of events. We study this reaction when it is intermediated by a
resonance made of quarks or gluons and discuss its interplay with the continuum
process, verifying that in several cases the resonant process ovewhelms the
continuum one. It is also investigated the possibility of observing a scalar
resonance (the meson) in this process. Assuming for the the
mass and total decay width values recently reported by the E791 Collaboration
we show that RHIC may detect this particle in its two photon decay mode if its
partial photonic decay width is of the order of the ones discussed in the

The Intentional Use of Service Recovery Strategies to Influence Consumer Emotion, Cognition and Behaviour
Service recovery strategies have been identified as a critical factor in the success of. service organizations. This study develops a conceptual frame work to investigate how specific service recovery strategies influence the emotional, cognitive and negative behavioural responses of . consumers., as well as how emotion and cognition influence negative behavior. Understanding the impact of specific service recovery strategies will allow service providers' to more deliberately and intentionally engage in strategies that result in positive organizational outcomes. This study was conducted using a 2 x 2 between-subjects quasi-experimental design. The results suggest that service recovery has a significant impact on emotion, cognition and negative behavior. Similarly, satisfaction, negative emotion and positive emotion all influence negative behavior but distributive justice has no effect
Azimuthal anisotropy and correlations in p+p, d+Au and Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV
We present the first measurement of directed flow () at RHIC. is
found to be consistent with zero at pseudorapidities from -1.2 to 1.2,
then rises to the level of a couple of percent over the range . The latter observation is similar to data from NA49 if the SPS rapidities
are shifted by the difference in beam rapidity between RHIC and SPS.
Back-to-back jets emitted out-of-plane are found to be suppressed more if
compared to those emitted in-plane, which is consistent with {\it jet
quenching}. Using the scalar product method, we systematically compared
azimuthal correlations from p+p, d+Au and Au+Au collisions. Flow and non-flow

Azimuthal anisotropy: the higher harmonics
We report the first observations of the fourth harmonic (v_4) in the
azimuthal distribution of particles at RHIC. The measurement was done taking
advantage of the large elliptic flow generated at RHIC. The integrated v_4 is
about a factor of 10 smaller than v_2. For the sixth (v_6) and eighth (v_8)
