Challenges of Women Entrepreneurs in India and the Emerging Dimensions: A Study

    Get PDF
Indian society today has witnessed a surge of women entrepreneurship. There arises a need to examine the challenges of women entrepreneurs in greater depth. This study attempts to understand these challenges as well as explore the dimensions that emerge from these challenges. The study is based on exploratory qualitative study of 20 women entrepreneurs in India. The narratives reveal six major themes:  Desire to create self- identity and derive satisfaction through entrepreneurship, doing what one loves to do, perceiving risk taking as an enjoyable experience, entrepreneurship as a medium to contribute to society, success speaks for itself and willing to learn, unlearn and relearn

Wideband filter using meta material at THz frequency

    Get PDF
Wideband filtering application using ceramic meta material is reported in this work. Reflective properties of both SNG and DNG, glass and ceramic materials are presented. Simulation results for both structures predict the wide reflected band is found at Terahertz frequency pertaining to above structures. Also non linear variation of “width of the reflected band” is found with varying the thickness of meta material structure

Singular Scaling Functions in Clustering Phenomena

We study clustering in a stochastic system of particles sliding down a fluctuating surface in one and two dimensions. In steady state, the density-density correlation function is a scaling function of separation and system size. This scaling function is singular for small argument -- it exhibits a cusp singularity for particles with mutual exclusion, and a divergence for noninteracting particles. The steady state is characterized by giant fluctuations which do not damp down in the thermodynamic limit. The autocorrelation function is a singular scaling function of time and system size. The scaling properties are surprisingly similar to those for particles moving in a quenched disordered environment that results if the surface is frozen.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures, Invited talk delivered at Statphys 23, Genova, July 200

Approximate solution of the Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau equation for a vector Yukawa potential with arbitrary total angular momenta

The usual approximation scheme is used to study the solution of the Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau (DKP) equation for a vector Yukawa potential in the framework of the parametric Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method. The approximate energy eigenvalue equation and the corresponding wave function spinor components are calculated for arbitrary total angular momentum in closed form. Further, the approximate energy equation and wave function spinor components are also given for case. A set of parameter values is used to obtain the numerical values for the energy states with various values of quantum levelsComment: 17 pages; Communications in Theoretical Physics (2012). arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:1205.0938, and with arXiv:quant-ph/0410159 by other author

Bounding CPT Violation in the Neutral-B System

    Get PDF
The feasibility of placing bounds on CPT violation from experiments with neutral-BB mesons is examined. We consider situations with uncorrelated mesons and ones with either unboosted or boosted correlated mesons. Analytical expressions valid for small T- and CPT-violating parameters are presented for time-dependent and time-integrated decay rates, and various relevant asymmetries are derived. We use Monte-Carlo simulations to model experimental conditions for a plausible range of CPT-violating parameters. The treatment uses realistic data incorporating background effects, resolutions, and acceptances for typical detectors at LEP, CESR, and the future BB factories. Presently, there are no bounds on CPT violation in the BB system. We demonstrate that limits of order 10\% on CPT violation can be obtained from data already extant, and we determine the CPT reach attainable within the next few years.Comment: accepted for publication in Physical Review
