Glycopeptide Resistance in S. aureus

The glycopeptides (particularly vancomycin) have been the recommended therapy for serious methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections. The increased incidence of MRSA has led to the frequent use of vancomycin. Unfortunately, with the increased use of vancomycin, isolates of S. aureus have been discovered with reduced susceptibility to vancomycin. Several studies suggest that reduced vancomycin susceptibility is associated with vancomycin treatment failure. Various forms of glycopeptide resistance have appeared in MRSA strains, including high‐level resistance, homogeneous and heterogeneous intermediate resistance. While vancomycin‐resistant S. aureus (VRSA) strains are limited to a handful of reported cases and vancomycin‐intermediate S. aureus (VISA) strains remain rare; heterogeneous VISA (hVISA) strains are more common. This article summarizes the current knowledge regarding the history, definition, mechanisms, detection methods, epidemiology and clinical significance of ‘glycopeptide resistance in S. aureus’ and discusses therapeutic optıons for the treatment of hVISA/VISA infections

An investigation on relationship between CRM and organizational learning through knowledge management: A case study of Tehran travel agency

Customer relationship management (CRM) plays essential role on the success of many business units. CRM integrates necessary data from internal and external sources to assist managers and employees for business development. This paper attempts to analyze relationship between CRM, organizational learning, and knowledge management. Research population includes travel agencies in Tehran, Iran and their manager are considered for the purpose of this study. This research has four variables 1- Successful implementation of KM, 2- Organizational learning, 3- customer orientation, and 4- information share with customers. The preliminary results of this survey indicate that any development of CRM will significantly contribute relative efficiency of this travel agency. The results also indicate that there is a meaningful relationship among components of CRM including organizational learning, and knowledge management in this travel agency

Comparison Analysis of CBR Value Enhancement of Soil Type in Swamp Area by Addition of Fly Ash

Roads was built on swamp areas should be consider the condition of the base soil, since the characteristics of the soil in swamp areas have always inundated and have a low soil carrying capacity (Subagyo, 2006).  One of effort that could be done to improve the existing soil condition was used fly ash as a material for soil stabilization (Indera et al, 2016; Mina et al, 2016). This study was conducted to analyze the enhancement of CBR value on various soil types in swamp area by the addition of fly ash. Testing on the values of index properties, compaction, and CBR values was done in laboratory base on ASTM and AASHTO standars.  The test results show that the type of soil at the location of the sampling is silty or clay gravel and sand, clay soil, and silty soil.  The reduction of optimum water content  after the addition of fly ash is the highest decrease of  20.92%. While the highest increase of dry content weight after the addition of fly ash was 0.904 gr / cm3. An enhancement in the value of CBR by the addition of 20% fly ash in the study area, however the increase magnitude depends on the existing soil types, ie 7.99% in the silty or clay gravel and sand, 6 - 8% in the clay soil and 0,22 - 5% on silty soil. This indicates that the addition of fly ash was the optimum used on the type of clay soil

Study of the relationship between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Knowledge Sharing (KS)

Firms can obtain competitive advantages from their employee’s knowledge sharing behaviors. Due to the importance of knowledge in today’s competitive world, an understanding of how to enhance employee knowledge sharing has become critical. Since employees’ knowledge sharing intentions are one of the strong predictors of actual employee knowledge sharing behavior. This paper presents a descriptive-correlative research to understand the relationship among the emotional intelligence of employees and knowledge sharing in lubricant industry. The hypotheses are tested on data collected from 230 employees of a Lubricant Company in Iran; samples were selected by simple random sampling. The EI and KS questionnaires were used as research instruments and the data was analyzed by “Structural Equation Modeling” by “Lisrel” software. The results showed that there is a meaningful positive relationship between emotional intelligence and knowledge sharing. Limitations of this study and future research directions are also discussed. The Effectiveness of Couples' Relationship Enrichment Training with Emotion-Focused Approach on Fear of Intimacy and Insecure Attachment Styles

Background and Aim:Marital infidelity is a traumatic interpersonal issue that can lead to cognitive, emotional, and behavioral symptoms in the victim. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of couples' relationship enrichment training with the EFT, emotion-focused approach on fear of intimacy and insecure attachment styles among couples  faced with spousal infidelity. Materials and Methods:The method of the study was a semi-experimental with pre-test, post-test, control group and with the follow-up phase. The statistical population of this study was all men and women faced with spousal infidelity in Tehran in 2019-2020.Throughconvenience sampling method, 40 people were selected and randomly divided into an intervention group by training couples' relationship enrichment with an emotion-focused approach and a control group. The experimental group underwent 8 sessions of 90 minutes of training to enrich couples' relationships with an emotion-focused approach and the control group stayed on the waiting list. Data were collected based on an attachment styles questionnaire and fear of intimacy questionnaire. Multivariate covariance analysis test was used to eliminate the effect of pre-test using SPSS software. Results:The results showed that emotion-focused training affected the scores of insecure attachment styles (P<0.01) and fear of intimacy (P<0.01). The results also showed that the method of training was to enrich couples' relationships with an emotion-focused approach in the follow-up phase. Conclusion:It can be concluded that the intervention on  training couples' relationship enrichment focused on the emotion-focused approach is an effective model in women and men affected by spousal infidelity and can be used as one of the therapeutic or educational methods in couple therapy program

PELATIHAN IDENTIFIKASI LAHAN MENGGUNAKAN ARCGIS DI DINAS PUPR KABUPATEN BANYUASIN

Pada saat ini pemerintah Kabupaten Banyuasin terus berbenah diri dalam mengelola tata ruang wilayah, melalui dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Perencanaan Ruang (PUPR) yang bergerak di bidang perencanaan dan pelaksanaan kegiatan pembangunan di Kabupaten Banyuasin keseluruhan perencanaan tata ruang wilayah dibuat. Dinas ini yang terletak di kawasan Kantor Pemerintahan Kabupaten Banyuasin, yang terletak di Kecamatan Pangkalan Balai.  Untuk kebutuhan tersebut maka sumber daya yang terkait dalam perencanaan tata ruang wilayah memerlukan pengetahuan mengenai ArcGIS, hal ini juga sejalan dengan pelaksanaan Peraturan Presiden no. 9 tahun 2016 tentang tentang Percepatan Pelaksanaan Kebijakan Satu Peta (KSP) pada Tingkat Ketelitian Peta Skala 1:50.000.  Langkah awal yang harus dipenuhi dalam pencapaian kinerja pada saat ini adalah pelaporan kondisi ruas jalan dan jembatan menggunakan GIS sebagai dasar dalam penyusunan tata ruang wilayah. Minimnya sumber daya manusia yang memiliki pengetahuan tentang ArcGIS dan kebutuhan mereka terhadap pengetahuan ArcGIS merupakan alasan dari Dinas PUPR Kabupaten Banyuasin untuk menyambut baik kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dari tim pengabdian Jurusan Teknik Sipil Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya yang mengangkat permasalahan tetang: “Pelatihan Identifikasi Lahan Menggunakan ArcGIS” yang akan dilaksanakan di Dinas PUPR Kabupaten Banyuasin.  Kegiatan ini teridiri dari 2 tahap dimulai dari pembuatan modul pelatihan agar mempermudah peserta selama pelatihan dan pelaksanaan pelatihan yang dilaksanakan langsung di Kantor Dinas PUPR Kabupaten Banyuasin. Selama mengikuti pelatihan para peserta yang terdiri dari 25 orang sangat antusias dalam mengikuti pelatihan, hal ini terlihat dari diskusi interaktif selama pelaksanaan pelatihan dan perserta berharap adanya pelatihan lanjutan terhadap materi lain tentang aplikasi arcgis

PENERAPAN STANDAR OPERATING PROCEDURES PENGENDALIAN MUTU BETON READY MIX PADA PT. INDO BETON

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan untuk mensosialisasikan Standar Operating Prosedure (SOP) pada PT. Indo Beton yang beralamat di Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Kelurahan Talang Kelapa Kecamatan Alang-alang Lebar dan bergerak dalam bidang penyediaan beton ready mix. Dalam pelaksanaan pengendalian mutu beton, PT.  Indo Beton belum menggunakan acuan/ pedoman pelaksanaan sehingga tim pelaksana pengabdian memberikan solusi kepada PT. Indo Beton  untuk membuatkan SOP yang dibutuhkan dalam pelaksanaan pengendalian beton reay mix melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang merupakan salah satu bentuk kegiatan tri darma perguruan tinggi. Dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan kedepannya PT. Indo Beton dapat menerapkan SOP dalam kegiatan pengendalian mutu Beto ready mix yang diproduksinya.  Kegiatan ini dibagi dalam 2 tahap, pertama yaitu penyusunan  SOP pengendalian mutu beton dan kedua adalah penyuluhan tentang penerapan SOP tersebut dalam kegiatan pengendalian mutu beton, khususnya beton ready mix. Hasil yang dicapai sangat memuaskan karena para peserta sangat antusias dalam menerima materi. Dengan adanya SOP yang dihasilkan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini, PT. Indo Beton sebagai mitra kerjasama dibidang pengabdian kepada masyarakat merasa sangat terbantu karena untuk selanjutnya SOP pengendalian mutu ini akan digunakan dalam kegiatan produksi beton ready mix untuk meningkatkan kualitas produksi beton ready mix

Field Investigation on Sub-clinical Mastitis in Cows in Different areas of Barisal district in Bangladesh

In every year, Subclinical mastitis (SCM) frequently occurs and results huge economic losses in livestock industry of Bangladesh. This study was redacted to estimate the present status of SCM in cow in selective area of Barisal district. For determining sub-clinical mastitis, a total of 152 milk samples of clinically suspected cows were subjected to White Side Test (WST) and Surf Field Mastitis Test (SFMT). Specifically, the milk samples of each individual cows which were positive to both WST and SFMT considered as SCM indicating 35.52% prevalence. Other than the local breed cows, the cross bred cows showed significantly higher prevalence, is 47.06%. In consideration to age variation, highest prevalence was observed at 5 to 7 years of age in both types where cross breed was 54.71% and 36.67% for local breed cows. Though highest prevalence was recorded as 34.78% in 2nd parity of local breed cows but the cross breed cows showed highest prevalence 54.55% in their 3rd parity. Afterward, non-pregnant cows showed the insignificantly higher prevalence (41.06%) than pregnant cows were 26.32%. Additionally, this study reported that the cross breed cows yielding more than 10 liters of milk (prevalence was 61.54%) were more prone to SCM than the others and also >5 to 10 liters milk producing local breed cows (prevalence was 31.03%) were more susceptible to SCM than others. In a short, this study revealed that high milk yielding cross breed cows are more likely to SCM after their 3rd calving
