Phase motion in the Z−(4430)Z^-(4430) amplitude in B0→ψ′π−K+B^0\to\psi^\prime\pi^-K^+ decay

In view of the proliferation in the number of new charmonium states, it is really important to have a experimental way to prove that an observed bump is, indeed, a real resonance. To do that, in this paper we present an alternative method to demonstrate the resonant behavior of a state. With this method, the phase variation of a generic complex amplitude can be directly revealed through interference in the Dalitz-plot region where it crosses a well established resonant state, used as a probe. We have tested the method for the $Z^-(4430)$ state by generating Monte Carlo samples for the $B^0\to \psi^\prime \pi^-K^+$ decay channel. We have shown that the proposed method gives a clear oscillation behavior, related to the phase variation associated to a real resonant state, in the case where the $Z^-(4430)$ is considered as a regular resonance with a strong phase variation. We have also discussed the possibility of using the proposed method complementary to the Argand diagram to determine the internal structure of the $Z^-(4430)$ state.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures -- submitted to Phys. Poco tiene que ver la edición original de 1972 de Learning from las Vegas, the forgotten symbolism of the architectural form, con la edición revisada de 1977, que fue traducida al español y publicada por Gustavo Gili en 1978. El gran formato del libro original (38x28cm) se justificaba por la importancia del material gráfico desplegado, un ejercicio de análisis que aspiraba a descubrir nuevas técnicas de representación capaces de reproducir una realidad tan compleja sensorialmente como la de la ciudad de las Vegas. La drástica transformación, impulsada por los propios autores, suponía un abaratamiento y por tanto una mayor difusión del libro, pero sobretodo trataba de acabar con el conflicto entre su crítica al diseño Bauhaus y el diseño Bauhaus tardío del libro original, como señaló la propia Denise Scott Brown en el prologo de la edición revisada de 1977

The study is focused on both building-context and building-structure relationships. This two aspects show how irony in Koolhaas goes beyond simple provocation, understood as the logic capable of fitting together theoretical stances which were considered as contradictories before: unity vs. fragmentation, universality vs. specificity, Zeitgeist vs. Genius loci. The attention to these oppositions characteristics of the conflict between Modern Movement and first postmodernity defines an ideological agenda which is modern and simultaneously critical with modern principles, but without being reactionary. This agenda is revealed through deeper analysis of the Congrexpo and the master-plan from which it derives

Extracting CKM γ\gamma phase from B±→K±π+π−B^{\pm} \to K^{\pm} \pi^+ \pi^- and B0B^0, Bˉ0→Ksπ+π−\bar B^0 \to K_s \pi^+ \pi^-

We discuss some aspects of the search for CP asymmetry in the three body B decays, revealed through the interference among neighbor resonances in the Dalitz plot. We propose a competitive method to extract the CKM $\gamma$ angle combining Dalitz plot amplitude analysis of $B^{\pm} \to K^{\pm} \pi^+ \pi^-$ and untagged $B^0$, $\bar B^0 \to K_s \pi^+ \pi^-$. The method also obtains the ratio and phase difference between the {\it tree} and {\it penguin} contributions from $B^0$ and $\bar B^0 \to K^{*\pm} \pi^{\mp}$ decays and the CP asymmetry between $B^0$ and $\bar{B^0}$. Delegated Portfolio Management and Risk Taking Behavior

Standard models of moral hazard predict a negative relationship between risk and incentives; however empirical studies on mutual funds present mixed results. In this paper, we propose a behavioral principal-agent model in the context of professional managers, focusing on active and passive investment strategies. Using this general framework, we evaluate how incentives affect the risk taking behavior of managers, using the standard moral hazard model as a special case; and solve the previous contradiction. Empirical evidence, based on a comprehensive world sample of 4584 mutual funds, gives support to our theoretical model.

Navegación en el sistema de salud de las personas que viven con el VIH/SIDA

Tesis (Cirujano Dentista)Objetivos: Identificar las experiencias como usuarios, de personas diagnosticadas y tratadas con VIH / SIDA en el sistema de salud chileno. Métodos: Estudio cualitativo, fenomenológico y descriptivo. Se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas en profundidad, evaluando temas de: diagnóstico, tratamiento, garantías explícitas en salud, y salud bucal. Los participantes fueron personas que viven con el VIH/SIDA. Los datos fueron transcritos y posteriormente analizados con el software cualitativo Nvivo 10. Resultados: Se entrevistó a 17 participantes. Se identificaron barreras percibidas en el sistema de salud, tales como: retraso en el diagnóstico, falta de información sobre el nuevo estado de salud, falta de apoyo psicológico inicial, y de confidencialidad sobre el estado VIH por parte de los profesionales de la salud. También se identificaron temáticas asociadas a conductas y emociones, tales como: Conductas de riesgo, sentimientos y/o sensaciones de angustia, discriminación y miedo al momento de declarar su enfermedad en el entorno social. Discusión: Las barreras percibidas pueden obstaculizar el diagnóstico precoz y la adhesión al tratamiento dentro del sistema de salud. La educación de los profesionales de la salud es clave para desarrollar ambientes de apoyo para los pacientes diagnosticados

Complex amplitude phase motion in Dalitz plot heavy meson three body decay

We propose a method to determine the phase motion of a complex amplitude in three body heavy meson decays. We show that the phase variation of a complex amplitude can be directly revealed through the interference observed in the Dalitz Plot region where it crosses with a well established resonant state. This method could be applied to the decays \d3pi and $D^+\to K^-\pi^+\pi^+$, to determine whether the low mass states $\sigma$ and $\kappa$, suggested by E791, have phase motions compatible with resonances.Comment: To appear in Physics Letters
