    The Monetary Transmission Mechanism: An SVAR Analysis of the Four Municipalities in China

    This paper explores the role of housing markets in the transmission of monetary policy shocks across four Chinese municipalities, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Chongqing. The analysis is based on identification of housing demand shocks, monetary policy shocks and credit supply shocks through a Structural Vector Autoregressive (SVAR) model estimated using monthly data for four cities from July 2005 to December 2015. The empirical results show great differences in the four cities as far as the housing market is concerned. They also indicate that housing plays a stronger role in the transmission of monetary policy shocks in Beijing and Shanghai than in Tianjin and Chongqing. These results are reasonably robust across several model specifications

    The measurement of masses of OB-type stars from LAMOST DR5

    The measurements of masses and luminosities of massive stars play an important role in understanding the formation and evolution of their host galaxies. In this work, we present the measurement of masses and luminosities of 2,946 OB-type stars, including 78 O-type stars and 2,868 B-type stars, based on their stellar parameters (effective temperature, surface gravity, and metallicity) and PARSEC isochrones model. Our results show that the median mass and luminosity of the 2,946 OB-type stars are 5.4 M⊙_{\odot} and log(L/L⊙_{\odot})=3.2 with the median relative error of 21.4%\% and 71.1%\%, respectively. A good agreement between our results estimated by using our method and those derived by using the orbital motions of binary stars from the literature is found for some B-type stars. In addition, we also fit the mass-luminosity relation of B-type stars by using our derived mass and the luminosity from GaiaGaia DR3.Comment: 12 pages, 10 figures, 1 table, accepted for publication in ApJ

    Dietary supplementation of exopolysaccharides from Lactobacillus rhamnosus GCC-3 improved the resistance of zebrafish against spring viremia of carp virus infection

    Spring viremia of carp virus (SVCV) can cause high mortality of fish. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GCC-3 exopolysaccharides (GCC-3 EPS) on zebrafish (Danio rerio) infected with SVCV and elucidate the underlying mechanisms. Zebrafish were fed with a control diet or diet supplemented with 0.5% and 1% of GCC-3 EPS for 2 weeks. The results showed that supplementation of GCC-3 EPS significantly improved the survival rate of zebrafish compared with the control group. In addition, dietary 0.5% and 1% GCC-3 EPS significantly up-regulated the expression of genes related to type I interferon (IFN) antiviral immunity. Consistent with in vivo results, GCC-3 EPS significantly inhibited SVCV replication in zebrafish embryonic fibroblast (ZF4) cells while significantly increased the expression of type I IFN signaling pathway related genes. Furthermore, knocking down TANK-binding kinase 1 significantly blocked the antiviral effect of GCC-3 EPS. Dietary GCC-3 EPS improved gut microbiota, and the culture supernatant of GCC-3 EPS-associated microbiota significantly inhibited SVCV replication in ZF4 cells compared with the control-microbiota counterpart. In conclusion, our results indicate that dietary GCC-3 EPS can improve the resistance of zebrafish against SVCV infection, and the mechanism may involve enhanced type I interferon signaling. KEYW

    Identification of Blue Horizontal-Branch Stars From LAMOST DR5

    We construct a new catalog of the blue horizontal-branch (BHB) stars from the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) DR5 dataset, which contains 5355+81 BHB stars at high Galactic latitude ((∣Glat∣>20∘|Glat|>20^{\circ}). We combine the spectral line indices with a set of Balmer line profile selection criteria to identify the BHB stars. During the selection process, we use the line index of \ion{Ca}{2}\,K to exclude the metal-rich A-type dwarfs. We obtain their atmospheric parameters by cross-matching our BHB stars with the catalog provided by \citet{Xiang2022}. The results show that our sample is consistent with the theoretical TeffT_{\rm eff}-log\,gg evolutionary tracks of the BHB stars, indicating that our method is robust for identifying BHB stars from the LAMOST spectra. Their spatial distribution indicates that most of our BHB stars are located in the inner halo or the disk of the Milky Way. Combined with other BHB samples from the literature, the BHB stars can cover a large Galactic volume, which makes it a better probe for studying the kinematics, dynamics, and structural characteristics of the Milky Way.Comment: accepted by ApJS.15 pages, 18 figure

    Effects of nuclease-treated fermentation product of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GCC-3 on growth, hepatic health and gut microbiota of zebrafish (Danio rerio) fed a high-fat diet

    Probiotics are reported to improve the nutrition, immunity, and health of fish. Nuclease can hydrolyze nucleic acids of probiotics to produce nucleotides. The present study investigated the effect of stabilized fermentation product of nuclease-treated Lactobacillus rhamnosus GCC-3 (GCC-3 NT) on growth, non-specic immunity, liver health, and gut microbiota of zebrash (Danio rerio). Compared to the high-fat diet (HFD) group, GCC-3 NT did not affect the growth performance of zebrafish. However, GCC-3 NT treatment can signicantly increase the lysozyme activity and the total antioxidant capacity of body surface mucus. In addition, dietary GCC-3 NT signicantly reduced the content of hepatic triglycerides (TAG) in zebrash while signicantly increased the expression of acyl-coenzyme A oxidases 3 (ACOX3) and proliferator-activated receptor γ coactivator 1ι (PGC1ι) compared with the HFD group. The 16S rRNA gene sequencing showed that GCC-3 NT reduced the relative abundance of Actinobacteria while increased Firmicutes at the phylum level. The relative abundance of Rhodococcus was significantly decreased and Lactobacillus and Staphylococcus abundance were significantly increased in the GCC-3 NT group compared to the HFD group. Furthermore, PCoA analysis showed GCC-3 NT diet had a signicant effect on the autochthonous microbiota compared to the HFD diet. Together, our results showed that nuclease-treated L. rhamnosus fermentation product can improve the immunity, liver health and gut microbiota of zebrafish, suggesting that it can be potentially used as a functional feed additive for aquaculture

    GANet: Goal Area Network for Motion Forecasting

    Predicting the future motion of road participants is crucial for autonomous driving but is extremely challenging due to staggering motion uncertainty. Recently, most motion forecasting methods resort to the goal-based strategy, i.e., predicting endpoints of motion trajectories as conditions to regress the entire trajectories, so that the search space of solution can be reduced. However, accurate goal coordinates are hard to predict and evaluate. In addition, the point representation of the destination limits the utilization of a rich road context, leading to inaccurate prediction results in many cases. Goal area, i.e., the possible destination area, rather than goal coordinate, could provide a more soft constraint for searching potential trajectories by involving more tolerance and guidance. In view of this, we propose a new goal area-based framework, named Goal Area Network (GANet), for motion forecasting, which models goal areas rather than exact goal coordinates as preconditions for trajectory prediction, performing more robustly and accurately. Specifically, we propose a GoICrop (Goal Area of Interest) operator to effectively extract semantic lane features in goal areas and model actors' future interactions, which benefits a lot for future trajectory estimations. GANet ranks the 1st on the leaderboard of Argoverse Challenge among all public literature (till the paper submission), and its source codes will be released

    Unveiling precipitation behavior in Mg-Y based alloys

    Mg-Y based alloys exhibit a promising combination of strength and deformability through tuning precipitation and solute strengthening mechanisms and tailoring the activity of non-basal dislocations. Understanding the precipitation sequence of Mg-Y based alloys and its dependence on Yttrium concentration in the matrix will provide a guideline for fine tuning structure, morphology and distribution of precipitates in Mg-Y based alloys. In this paper, we explore the precipitation behaviors of Mg-11Y (wt%) and Mg-11Y-1Al (wt%) alloys using aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy, and rationalize the experimental observations based on first-principles density functional theory calculations. The precipitation sequence during ageing at 225 °C is identified to be SSSS → clusters/G.P. Zones →β′ (Mg7Y) → β′′/βt′′ (Mg3Y). A novel βt′′ phase forms through in-situ transformation from the β′ phase, which shares the same Mg3Y composition with D019-β′′ phase and exhibits the same cbco-structure as β′ phase in Mg-Y based alloys
