In this paper, during a 2013 year, effects of eight pollenizers (Čačanska Rana, Boranka, Čačanska lepotica, Timočanka, Čačanska najbolja, Čačanska rodna, Mildora i Stanley) on the degree of initial and final fruit set in the plum cultivar Čačanska Rana were examined. Besides the controlled pollination of this cultivar, open pollination was investigated. The results indicated that the best final fruit set was obtained when cultivars Čačanska Rodna and Čačanska Najbolja were used as pollenizers.U radu su prikazani rezultati vezani za inicijalno i finalno zametanja plodova sorte šljive Čačanska rana u zavisnosti od primenjenog oprašivača.

The influence of brake pads thermal conductivity on passanger car brake system efficiency

In phase of vehicle braking system designing, besides of mechanical characteristics, it is also necessary to take under consideration the system's thermal fatures. This is because it is not enough just to achieve proper braking power, for the brake system to be effective but equally important thing is the dissipation of heat to the environment. Heat developed in the friction surfaces dissipate into the environment over the disk in one hand and through the brake linings and caliper, in the other. The striving is to make that greatest amount of heat to dissipate not threw the brake pads butthrew disc. The experimental researching of heat transfer process taking place at vehicle brakes was made in the R&D Center of Zastava automobili car factory in order to increase the efficiency of brake system. The standard laboratory and road test procedures were used, according to factory quality regulations. The modern equipment such as thermo camera, thermo couples, torque transducers, signal amplifiers, optical speed measuring system and laptop computer were used. In this paper will be shown the part of the experimental researching, whichrefers to the thermal conductivity ofbrake pad friction linings

Identification of Nonlinear Systems Using the Hammerstein-Wiener Model with Improved Orthogonal Functions

Hammerstein-Wiener systems present a structure consisting of three serial cascade blocks. Two are static nonlinearities, which can be described with nonlinear functions. The third block represents a linear dynamic component placed between the first two blocks. Some of the common linear model structures include a rational-type transfer function, orthogonal rational functions (ORF), finite impulse response (FIR), autoregressive with extra input (ARX), autoregressive moving average with exogenous inputs model (ARMAX), and output-error (O-E) model structure. This paper presents a new structure, and a new improvement is proposed, which is consisted of the basic structure of Hammerstein-Wiener models with an improved orthogonal function of Müntz-Legendre type. We present an extension of generalised Malmquist polynomials that represent Müntz polynomials. Also, a detailed mathematical background for performing improved almost orthogonal polynomials, in combination with Hammerstein-Wiener models, is proposed. The proposed approach is used to identify the strongly nonlinear hydraulic system via the transfer function. To compare the results obtained, well-known orthogonal functions of the Legendre, Chebyshev, and Laguerre types are exploited

The negative effects of the global financial crisis shook the more or less all countries of the world. The problems caused by the global crisis in the Republic of Srpska are most pronounced in the financial and real sector of the Republic of Srpska. In the current financial crisis, the Investment Development Bank receives a key role in the financial support of Serbian economy. A stable and efficient financial system plays a role in achieving the objectives of economic expansion. FINANCIAL sector capital strengthening the financial crisis imposed as a necessity, especially for smaller banks. The problems caused by the global crisis in the Republic of Srpska expressed primarily in financial and real-sector. The main objective of this paper is to highlight the importance and role, and the advantages and disadvantages of financing the development of financial and real sectors of the global financial crisis. The paper elaborated analysis of the degree of development of financial and real sectors of Serbian, conditions in the banking sector and the role of Serbian Investment and Development Bank of the Republic of Srpska in the development of financial and real sectors of Serbian. As a result, an analysis should highlight the importance of financial support to banks in developing financial and real sectors of the global financial crisis

Metals are essential components in indispensable biochemical processes for living organisms. This review article highlights the metals zinc and gold in the development and treatment of breast cancer. Metal compounds off er many advantages as therapeutics due to their ability to coordinate ligands in a three-dimensional configuration. In aqueous solution, they form positively charged ions that can bind to negatively charged biological molecules. Metal complexes that contain metal ions such as zinc(II) and gold have received considerable attention as potential anticancer agents. Zinc is an essential trace element that plays a critical role in a wide range of cellular processes that include structural, signalling, catalytic and regulatory functions. Zinc acts as a key structural component in many proteins and enzymes, including transcription factors, cellular signalling proteins, and DNA repair enzymes, and perturbed levels of zinc in tissues may play a role in cancer aetiology and outcome. Unlike zinc, gold is feasible as a component of compounds for effective anticancer therapy. Some progress in anticancer therapy may include interactions between zinc and gold

Platinum Complexes And Their Anti-Tumour Activity Against Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia Cells

Since the discovery of the antitumor activity of cisplatin by Rosenberg and co-workers, the use of metal complexes in cancer treatment has caused a huge interest. Today, platinum-based drugs are part of standard chemotherapy in the management of a variety of ca ncers, germ cell tumours, sarcomas, and lymphomas. Unfortunately, toxicity and drug resistance are major obstacles to wider clinical application of these drugs. Their use is greatly limited by severe side effects such as nephrotoxicity, ototoxicity, and neurotoxicity. Although cisplatin is one of the most successful anticancer drugs to date, its biochemical mechanism of action is still unclear. Cisplatin is generally accepted as having the ability to interact with the purine bases on the DNA, causing DNA damage, interfering with DNA repair mechanisms, and subsequently inducing apoptosis in cancer cells

Neural Network Based on Orthogonal Polynomials Applied in Magnetic Levitation System Control

    No full text
This paper presents a new approach for improving performances of magnetic levitation system. Controlled parameter is the amplitude which levitated object achieves during movement from one levitation position to another. Two position levitation with improved amplitude performances is obtained by implementing orthogonal neural network in standard levitation control logic. Proposed network is a nonlinear autoregressive neural network with newly developed activation function based on orthogonal polynomials. Performed experiments on a system with default control logic showed that it could not provide stable two position levitation when specified amplitude of the levitation object is greater than 10-4 m. Artificial network was trained using real experimental data and it was based on standard tangent and sigmoid activation functions. Default activation functions were then substituted with a newly developed orthogonal polynomial functions. The amplitude 10-3 m was achieved with stable two position levitation after parameter optimization. It is proven that simple control logic with nonlinear autoregressive neural network and proper activation function can provide improved amplitude performances
