Yugonostalgia. The Meta-National Memory Narratives of the Last Pioneers
Taking into account the specificities of (post)
Yugoslav neostalgia (Velikonja, 2010) there is a
strong need for theory to take a closer look at the
multiplicities of both Yugoslavia and its nostalgia(s).
Introducing the political aspect of nostalgia, with
particular focus on the last generation of pioneers
(born between 1974 and 1982), we are leaving
the banalizing official post-communist discourses
(Buden, 2012) on nostalgic transition losers and
those academic discourses that deny nostalgic
sentiments of the ability to generate a political
movement or a programme (Horvat and Štiks,
2015). Within revisionist political and cultural
discourses, nostalgia emerges, through Svetlana
Boym’s concept of counter-memory (Boym,
2001), in public spaces without state control
and without the control of dominant discourses
of political elites, and as such is being translated
into reflective nostalgia (Boym, 2001, p.49).
Through this reflection, the last generation of
pioneers creates memory narratives that interweave
the political and the nostalgic. These narratives
perform as “noeuds de mémoire” – exceeding
attempts of territorialisation and identitarian
reduction (Rothberg, 2010) and through their
multidirectionality (Rothberg, 2009), they emerge
as meta-national Yugonostalgic memory,
creating a new paradigm in the political field.
This essay aims to provide further reflection on
possible theoretical frameworks for understanding
the phenomenon of Yugonostalgia and its place
within the political imaginary of the last pioneers.
Remaining embedded in research and theory,
I have decided to structure this article as an
invitation to a dialogue, rather than a fully rounded
academic article. The present political phenomena
demand new perspectives and thinking about

The structure of connotative dimensions judo and karate
The research was conducted in order to determine the specificity of conative dimensions of judo and karate athletes as well as their differences.
To determine the specificity of the structure of the tested anthropological dimensions, the researchers tested 200 judo and karate athletes, members of judo and karate clubs in Serbia (about 100 judokas and about 100 karatekas), aged 18 to 27.
For the assessment of conative characteristics, the researchers chose the measuring instrument CON6 to assess the following conative regulators: activity regulator, regulator of organic functions, regulator of defense reactions, regulator of attack reactions, system for coordination of regulatory functions, and the system for integration of regulatory functions.
All the data in this study were processed at the Multidisciplinary Research Center, Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Pristina through the system of data processing software programs DRSOFT developed by [ 19, 28, 17 ].
The algorithms and programs realized in this study are fully presented, and the results of the programs are analyzed
Reimagining Academic Freedom:An Introduction
Is there a need to reimagine academic freedom? Does it happen? Where and how? As guest editors of this special issue, we have enjoyed the challenge of curating a set of papers under the theme of ‘reimagining academic freedom’. By ‘reimagining’ we refer to an act of imagining again and anew, more precisely to develop new conceptualisations and codifications of academic freedom (AF) from different perspectives. Because academic freedom is a necessary precondition to sociological imagination that challenges and defies the status quo, we also employ the concept of ‘social imaginary’ as a framework for understanding academic freedom and its multiple facets. Here ‘social imaginary’ refers broadly to the organising structure of shared understanding of academic freedom that makes legible or illegible certain relationships and practices within a given community. Social imaginaries can also organise social relations on different scales (e.g. national, regional, global), circumscribe the questions deemed worth asking and delimit the answers considered viable or valid, they, thus, link present conditions to future aspirations. As the authors in this issue argue, imaginaries also remount to all that has not been, to the unexpressed potentialities, to the reservoirs of the future – in term of the virtuality of action – that the past holds in its folds (see Pinto & Zellini, this issue)
A wearable microwave antenna array for time-domain breast tumor screening
In this work, we present a clinical prototype with a wearable patient interface for microwave breast cancer detection. The long-term aim of the prototype is a breast health monitoring application. The system operates using multistatic time-domain pulsed radar, with 16 flexible antennas embedded into a bra. Unlike the previously reported, table-based prototype with a rigid cup-like holder, the wearable one requires no immersion medium and enables simple localization of breast surface. In comparison with the table-based prototype, the wearable one is also significantly more cost-effective and has a smaller footprint. To demonstrate the improved functionality of the wearable prototype, we here report the outcome of daily testing of the new, wearable prototype on a healthy volunteer over a 28-day period. The resulting data (both signals and reconstructed images) is compared to that obtained with our table-based prototype. We show that the use of the wearable prototype has improved the quality of collected volunteer data by every investigated measure. This work demonstrates the proof-of-concept for a wearable breast health monitoring array, which can be further optimized in the future for use with patients with various breast sizes and tissue densities
Osobine kvaliteta grožđa i vina sorte merlot (Vitis Vinifera L.) i klonova selekcionisanih u Srbiji
The third phase of individual clone selection of Merlot Cultivar was perfomed at
Grocka vineyard, Republic of Serbia. The agrobiological traits and technological traits
of three selected clones (022, 025 and 029) and variety (standard) were studied in the
period 2009-2013. For all studied traits, except for grape yield, there was statistically
significant difference among standard and clones. There was no significant difference
between clones for any of the studied traits. The selected clones were characterized by
good quality grapes and wines. Clone 025 has been found to have a good attributes for
the production of high-quality red wines.Izvršena je selekcija trećeg vegetativnog potomstva klonova sorte Merlot u
Gročanskom vinogorju, Republika Srbija. Ispitane su agrobiološke i tehnološke
karakteristike grožđa i vina tri odabrana klona (022, 025 i 029) i sorte (standarda) u
The Enzyme Immobilization: Carriers and immobilization methods
Strategies based on the enzyme application are increasingly replacing the conventional chemical procedures because of their efficiency, quicker performance and environmental protection. However, natural enzymes can rarely be used in industry since their beneficial features can not endure the industrial conditions. Additional drawbacks of natural enzymes are their inhibition by reaction products and difficulty to be removed from the reaction mixture. The most promising technique to substantially improve the enzyme properties, such as activity, pH, thermal and organic-solvent stability, reusability and storage stability, in non-natural environments is by the enzyme immobilization. In this review we summarized different techniques used to immobilize enzymes to inert carriers. A wide variety of materials of both the organic and inorganic origin was used as carriers for the enzyme immobilization. We also summarized a class of new materials where the enzyme performance was enhanced by combining different classical materials and shaping in specific forms
Internalized Stigma among People with Mental Illness in Serbia and the Psychometric Properties of the Ismi Scale
This study was aimed at exploring the experience of internalized stigma in persons with mental illness. It also served the purpose of exploring the feasibility of using the Internalized Stigma of Mental Illness Scale (ISMI) to establish basic psychometric characteristics. The study is a part of the international INDIGO- ASPEN project. Participants (N=103) were service users of two psychiatric clinics and one primary health service in Serbia, with severe mental illnesses (52 with diagnosis of Major depression and 51 with Schizophrenia). Participants were of different age, gender, level of education, marital and employment status. For internalized stigma assessment the ISMI scale was applied. It consists of 5 subscales and 29 questions. Participants completed a questionnaire about socio-demographic and clinical data. 17.5% of participants reported experiencing moderate or severe stigma and 82.5% mild or minimal stigma. An elevated score was established for answers at all subscales: Alienation (27.2% of participants), Social Withdrawal (24.3%), Stereotype Endorsement (16.5%) and Discrimination (16.5%). Results show that socio-demographic and clinical variables are not linked to ISMI subscales. The study results confirm the good psychometric characteristics of the ISMI. Though the experience of internalized stigma in the sample of people with depression and schizophrenia in Serbia is mildly grave it should not be discarded. Effective stigma reduction interventions should include empowerment of interpersonal relationships in persons with mental illnesses, their inclusion in self-help groups and self-esteem improvement.

Organic composition of Igalo bay peloid (Montenegro)
837-848Igalo peloid is known for a number of therapeutic properties (resort of healing, cosmetic or aesthetic application) and its closeness of the sea, which makes the peloid extremely valuable. So far, the organic composition of the Igalo peloid was not investigated or determined. Also, there are studies for its medical application and biological activity, which are directly related to its chemical composition. In this paper we analyzed the content of organic compounds (fatty acids, proteins, amino acids, sugars) and we also listed their main and well-known biological, pharmaceutical and medical roles and purposes. For the purpose of this study, different analytical techniques were applied to the collected peloid, including extraction, chromatographic, electrophoretic and NMR techniques
