    Monitoring and Leak testig of wwer-440 fuel assemblies in Slovak wet interim spent fuel storage facility

    An accelerated monitoring system designed for the Slovak wet interim spent fuel storage facility in NPP Jaslovské Bohunice bases on the newly designed “cesium detectors” is presented in the paper. Since 1999, leak tests of WWER-440 fuel assemblies are provided by a special leak tightness detection system “Sipping in Pool” delivered by the Framatome-anp with external heating for the precise defects determination. Although this system seems to be very effective, the detection time of all fuel assemblies in one storage pool is too long. Therefore, a new “on-line” detection system, based on the new sorbent NIFSIL for an effective 134Cs and 137Cs activity was developed. The design of this detection system and its application possibility in Slovak wet interim spent fuel storage facility as well as preliminary results are presented

    Deposits of old blast-furnace slag are an environmental problem. The slag’s hardness is an important for calculation of the energy cost for crushing and grinding process. Due to its porosity, measurement of the (macro) hardness is. To adapt the dimensions of the indentations to the character of the slag, it is necessary to apply loads in the range of micro-hardness. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the influence of load on the micro-hardness - the Indentation Size Effect (ISE) using Meyer’s, Hays-Kendall and PSR methods.     Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na problematiku odborné přípravy, výkonu práce, a stanovení požadovaného počtu zaměstnanců na pozici strojvedoucí ve společnosti ČD Cargo, a. s. V teoretické části je přiblížena pozice železničního nákladního dopravce, zejména ve vztahu k vybraným personálním činnostem, kvalifikačním a ostatním požadavkům pro výkon práce strojvedoucího. V analytické části se autor práce blíže zaměřuje zejména na společnost ČD Cargo, a. s., a charakteristiku práce strojvedoucího v této společnosti. V práci jsou dále formulovány návrhy pro stanovení požadovaného počtu strojvedoucích ve společnosti ČD Cargo, a. s., včetně možných změn v kvalifikaci a systému vzdělávání. Následně jsou v práci zhodnoceny a doporučeny vybrané návrhy.The diploma thesis deals with the problematics connected with training, work performance and determination of the required quantity of engine drivers of the company ČD Cargo, a. s. The theoretical background is focused on the pose of the freight railway transport provider primarily regarding the personal management, qualification, and other requirements for the job of engine driver. The analytical part involves especially the characteristics of the company ČD Cargo, a. s., and the job of engine driver. In the thesis there are formulated the proposals of determination of the required quantity of engine drivers, qualification, and the educational system.     Application of Six Sigma Using DMAIC Methodology in the Process of Product Quality Control in Metallurgical Operation

    The Six Sigma DMAIC can be considered a guide for problem solving and product or process improvement. The majority of companies start to implement Six Sigma using the DMAIC methodology. The paper deals with application of Six Sigma using the DMAIC methodology in the process of product quality control. The case study is oriented on the field of metallurgical operations. The goal of the Six Sigma project was to ensure the required metallurgic product quality and to avoid an increase in internal costs associated with poor product quality. In this case study, a variety of tools and techniques like flow chart, histogram, Pareto diagram, analysis of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) data, cause and effect diagram, logical analysis was used. The Sigma level has improved by approximately 13%. The achieved improvements have helped to reduce the quantity of defective products and the processing costs (technology for re-adjusting). Benefits resulting from the DMAIC implementation can be divided into three levels: the qualitative, economic and safety level
