Abstract. The Internet is not only a global source of information but also a communication tool. At the present time studies of Internet communication and the language functioning as a means of electronic communication are one of the most relevant and innovative areas of linguistics. This paper considers gender specifics of the representation of the Russian lexeme баба (baba) in the Internet discourse based on messages of women's and men's forums. The gender component of the Internet discourse and ways of linguistic representation of sex in the Russian-language Internet are research objects. The study of the naming unit баба in the Russian-language Internet forums made it possible to identifyand describe gender stereotypes of femininity existing in a modern culture of language, as well as to determine the role and position of this lexeme in the system of gender values of virtual environment users. The scientific novelty of the work is as follows: an analysis of the lexeme баба was carried out on the basis of Russian-language Internet forums for the first time. As a result of the research, specific functioning of the баба's lexeme in the Internet discourse was revealed and described; non-procedural and procedural characteristics of the баба's lexeme reflected in the language of the Russian-language Internet users were identified and systematized; gender symmetry / asymmetry of the баба’s image was revealed by comparing the results of identification and self-identification by people of the opposite sex. Keywords: Internet discourse, forum, gender, cognitive classifiers, cognitive signs

Objective: Synthesis of the salts and diylidenehydrazidеs of 2-bromo-1-(thietan-3-yl) imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid to evaluate the antidepressant activities. Methods: The structures of the synthesised compounds were confirmed by elemental analysis and 1РNMR spectral data. The melting points of the compounds were determined on a Stuart SMP30 apparatus. The X-ray diffraction data for compound IIc were obtained at room temperature on a Xcalibur Gemini Еos. The antidepressant activity was investigated in the tail suspension and forced swimming tests. The locomotor activity and anxiety were studied in the open field test. Results: All synthesised compounds showed antidepressant activity after single intraperitoneal injection to male mice at doses equimolar to 10 mg/kg of imipramine. One of the compounds, 2-bromo-1-(thietan-3-yl) imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid di[(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl) methylidenehydrazide], reduced the anxiety and decreased the locomotor activity at statistically significant levels. Other compounds did not have sedative and/or stimulating effects. Conclusion: Among the synthesised 2-bromo-1-(thietan-3-yl) imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid derivatives, compounds with marked antidepressant activity were identified. An obvious advantage of these products is low toxicity

Cancer stem cells: 20 years behind

The biology of cancer stem cells (CSC) has been investigated and debated for past 20 years. Owning to their exceptional plasticity and the complexity of controlled processes CSC inspire the development of new research techniques for cell isolation and targeted therapy. This review is an attempt to summarize recent data and trends in the field of cancer stem cells and discuss potential and weaknesses of new research techniques

This article is devoted to the analysis of lexical and word-formation expression means assessment in A. I. Solzhenitsyn's story One day of Ivan Denisovich. The language assessment category draws attention of scientists from different areas: philosophers, logicians, linguists. The assessment can be expressed in language in the different ways: intonational, graphic, word-formation, lexical and syntactic. The most brightly valuable picture of the world is presented in lexicon and word formation. A. I. Solzhenitsyn's creativity generally becomes object of close literary critics attention whereas features of his works language did not become a subject of the linguists close attention yet. Studying emotional and estimative lexicon allows to describe features of the writer's style and is essential to adding to idea of his creativity in general. The methods used in the course of research are the following: lexic-and-semantic analysis, descriptive, context method, structure and motivational word-formation analysis method, component analysis method. As a result of research it is established that language of heroes and author contains a large number of estimative lexemes, many of which are stylistically lowered. Camp and prisoner's life, unlike household conveniences and free life with positive connotation, are generally negatively assessed. The image of the chief can be estimated both as negative, and as positive

Russian translation of the International code of nomenclature for cultivated Plants

    Get PDF
The International Code of Nomenclature for Cultivated Plants promotes uniformity, accuracy, and stability in the naming of agricultural, forestry and horticultural plants. It governs the nomenclature of such categories as Cultivar, Group and Grex, and provides stability in the rules of their naming avoiding or rejecting the use of names that may cause errors or ambiguities. The first edition of the Code was published in 1953. Currently, the ninth edition of the International Code of Nomenclature for Cultivated Plants is relevant (International Code…, 2016).The first translation of the Code into Russian was made on behalf of the All-Union Botanical Society by Professor Ya.I. Prokhanov and published in 1957. The work on the Russian translation of the ninth edition of the International Code of Nomenclature for Cultivated Plants was initiated by the N.I. Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources. The scientific translation was carried out by I.G. Chukhina (VIR), S.R. Miftakhova (VIR), and V.I. Dorofeyev (BIN RAS). All parts of the Code, including the Preamble, Principles, Rules, Recommendations, Examples and Appendices, are published in the five issues of the Vavilovia journal

A study of Pc-5 ULF oscillations

International audienceA study of Pc-5 magnetic pulsations using data from the Combined Release and Radiation Effects Satellite (CRRES) was carried out. Three-component dynamic magnetic field spectrograms have been used to survey ULF pulsation activity for the approximate fourteen month lifetime of CRRES. Two-hour panels of dynamic spectra were examined to find events which fall into two basic categories: 1) toroidal modes (fundamental and harmonic resonances) and 2) poloidal modes, which include compressional oscillations. The occurence rates were determined as a function of L value and local time. The main result is a comparable probability of occurence of toroidal mode oscillations on the dawn and dusk sides of the magnetosphere inside geosynchronous orbit, while poloidal mode oscillations occur predominantly along the dusk side, consistent with high azimuthal mode number excitation by ring current ions. Pc-5 pulsations following Storm Sudden Commencements (SSCs) were examined separately. The spatial distribution of modes for the SSC events was consistent with the statistical study for the lifetime of CRRES. The toroidal fundamental (and harmonic) resonances are the dominant mode seen on the dawn-side of the magnetosphere following SSCs. Power is mixed in all three components. In the 21 dusk side SSC events there were only a few examples of purely compressional (two) or radial (one) power in the CRRES study, a few more examples of purely toroidal modes (six), with all three components predominant in about half (ten) of the events. Key words. Magnetospheric physics (MHD waves and instabilities; magnetospheric configuration and dynamics) ? Space plasma physics (waves and instabilities

Electrodeposition of copper and zinc coatings from electrolytes based on aminotris(hydroxymethyl)methane

It is proposed to use aminotris(hydroxymethyl)methane (TRIS) in electrolytes for copper and zinc electroplating. The compositions of the electrolytes were elaborated, and their electroplating characteristics were determined. It was shown that the effect of TRIS on the electrode process is due to its adsorption by zinc electrodes
