Non-invasive imaging techniques in patients with coronary chronic total occlusions: A key for successful diagnosis, revascularization, and post-intervention outcomes

Coronary chronic total occlusions (CTOs) are a common finding on coronary angiograms of patientswith coronary artery disease, with an incidence ranging from 15% to 25%. Despite this high incidence,the proper treatment strategy in those patients often remains unclear. There are some observational studiessuggesting that successful revascularization of a CTO can reduce angina symptoms, improve qualityof life, improve the left ventricular ejection fraction, and lower mortality. However, not all patients willbenefit from revascularization. Pre-procedural assessment of left ventricular function, ischemic burden,and viability seems to be crucial for a good outcome of the revascularization. Usabilidade do Lume – Repositório Digital da UFRGS: uma avaliação por meio das heurísticas e de testes com usuários

Assesses the usability of the interface Lume - Repository of UFRGS. Aims to verify whether the main usability requirements are included and users interact easily while using the system. Sought to identify usability criteria not adopted in the interface and verify its influence on access to information. It has a qualitative approach and uses an exploratory methodology. We used the heuristic evaluation to detect problems of usability and an empirical method involving users. The results assisted in the identification requirements can not adopted and heuristics to identify violated. It was possible to verify that the interface Repository covers the main requirements of usability, featuring a low error rate and few problems.Avalia a usabilidade da interface do Lume - Repositório Digital da UFRGS. Tem por objetivo verificar se os principais requisitos de usabilidade são contemplados e se os usuários interagem facilmente durante a utilização do sistema. Buscou-se identificar critérios de usabilidade não adotados na interface e verificar sua influência no acesso à informação. Possui uma abordagem qualitativa e utiliza uma metodologia exploratória. Utilizou-se a avaliação heurística, para detectar problemas de usabilidade e um método empírico que envolve usuários. Os resultados obtidos auxiliaram na identificação de requisitos não adotados e na identificação de heurísticas violadas. Foi possível verificar que a interface do Repositório contempla os principais requisitos de usabilidade, apresentando uma baixa taxa de erros e poucos problemas

Data Competency: a contemporary need for researchers and society

Introdução: O objetivo deste artigo é analisar os requisitos que envolvem a Competência em Dados citada na literatura do campo da Ciência da Informação. Metodologia: A metodologia adotada foi a pesquisa bibliográfica sobre Competência em Dados e demais conceitos que constituem os pilares dessa temática, com ênfase para a Ciência Aberta e eScience. Resultados: Destacando os conceitos e os objetivos dos assuntos mencionados, o presente trabalho aponta que a Ciência da Informação brasileira deveria abordar a Competência em Dados de maneira mais contundente. Conclusão: Conclui-se que a Competência em Dados pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento da Ciência Aberta e da eScience, bem como ajudar a administrar a abundância de dados atualmente disponíveis.Introduction: This article aims to analyze the requirements involving Data Competency mentioned in the literature in the Information Science field. Method: The methodology adopted was the bibliographical research on Data Competency and other concepts that constitute the pillars of this theme, emphasizing Open Science and eScience. Results: Highlighting the concepts and objectives of the subjects mentioned, the present work points out that Brazilian Information Science should approach Data Competency more forcefully. Conclusion: It is concluded that Data Competency can contribute to the development of Open Science and eScience, as well as help manage the abundance of data currently available

The theory of data citation: a review of scientific production in Latin America

Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, de caráter qualitativo, que buscou identificar o estado da arte acerca da teoria da citação dos dados na produção científica conduzida na América Latina. Para tanto, foram estabelecidas expressões em português, inglês e espanhol acerca da referida temática, que foram utilizadas para explorar as seguintes bases de dados, repositórios e buscadores: Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações, OasisBR, La referencia, Redalyc, Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, Portal de Periódicos Capes, Google Acadêmico, SciELO e Brapci (Base de Dados Referenciais de Artigos de Periódicos em Ciência da Informação). Após a análise dos trabalhos recuperados, foram considerados somente aqueles que discutiam a temática de citação de dados de pesquisa de maneira aprofundada, com a finalidade de contribuírem para a reflexão acerca de uma teoria da citação de dados, totalizando 19 trabalhos. Conclui-se que existe uma ausência significativa de trabalhos na América Latina concernente à teoria da citação de dados, ao mesmo tempo em que foram identificados trabalhos que, embora não se refiram a uma teoria propriamente, oferecem contribuições significativas para a temática de citação de dados de pesquisa e que podem servir de base para o desenvolvimento de trabalhos sobre a teoria da citação de dados. Constatou-se ainda que o Brasil se destacou na produção de trabalhos sobre citação de dados de pesquisa, sendo que dos 19 trabalhos analisados nesta pesquisa, 17 eram produções brasileiras.This is a qualitative bibliographic research that sought to identify the state of art regarding the theory of data citation in the scientific production conducted in Latin America. To this end, expressions were established in Portuguese, English, and Spanish about the referred theme which were used to explore the following databases, repositories, and searchers: Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações, Oasisbr, La referencia, Redalyc, Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, CAPES Journal Portal, Google Scholar, SciELO and Brapci (Reference Database of Journal Articles in Information Science). After the analysis of the retrieved works, only those papers that discussed the topic of citation of research data were considered in depth, in order to contribute to the reflection on a theory of data citation, totaling 19 papers. It is concluded that there is a significant absence of works in Latin America concerning the theory of citation of data; at the same time, works have been identified, although not referring to a theory itself, offering significant contributions to the topic of citation of research data and that can serve as a basis for the development of papers on the theory of data citation. It was also found that Brazil stood out in the production of papers on citation of research data, and of the 19 papers analyzed in this research, 17 were Brazilian production

Guidelines for establishing a checklist for research data curation

A curadoria de dados de pesquisa é um desafio para muitas instituições de pesquisa e profissionais responsáveis pela gestão de repositórios de dados. A comunidade científica vem aderindo às práticas de compartilhamento e reuso, e nesse sentido, cada vez mais é preciso decidir acerca dapreservação de determinados conjuntos de dados em detrimento de outros. Este artigo objetiva discutir curadoria de dados de pesquisa e políticas de avaliação e de seleção de dados considerando-se o contexto de repositórios de dados de pesquisa nacionais. Apresentaresultados de uma pesquisa documental sobre requisitos para curadoria de dados, estabelecidos por repositórios ou instituições dedicadas à pesquisa sobre o tema. O artigo propõe algumas diretrizes para elaboração de checklist de critérios que podem ser aplicados aos repositórios brasileiros.Research data curation is a challenge for many research institutions and professionals responsible for managing data repositories. The scientific community has been adhering to the practices of sharing and reuse, and in this sense, it is increasingly necessary to decide on the preservation of certain data sets to the detriment of others. This paper aims to discuss research data curation, data evaluation and selection policies considering the context of national research data repositories. It presents the results of a documentary research on requirements for data curation, established by repositories or institutions dedicated to research on the subject. The paper proposes some guidelines for a checklist of criteria that can be applied to Brazilian repositories

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie rozwiązań prawnych i instytucjonalnych, których wprowadzenie w ostatnich latach w Polsce miało przyczynić się do zahamowania wyłudzeń w podatku od towarów i usług spowodowanych funkcjonowaniem podmiotów biorących udział w przestępstwach karuzelowych. W artykule dokonano charakterystyki poszczególnych metod walki z przestępczym procederem oraz oceny wprowadzonych rozwiązań. Przeanalizowano również dane dotyczące luki podatkowej w latach 2006-2017, której wielkość w przeważającej mierze wynika z uszczupleń spowodowanych wyłudzeniami podatku od towarów i usług przez podmioty biorące udział w karuzelach VAT-owskich. W części podsumowującej przedstawiono wnioski i sugestie odnośnie do wprowadzenia kolejnych rozwiązań prawnych i instytucjonalnych, które mogłyby przyczynić się do jeszcze skuteczniejszej walki z tego typu przestępczymi działaniami.The aim of the article is to present legal and institutional solutions, the introduction of which in recent years in Poland was to help to curb fraud in goods and services tax caused by the functioning of entities involved in carousel crimes. The article presents the characteristics of individual methods of combating criminal activity and the assessment of introduced solutions. The data regarding the tax gap in the years 2006-2017 was also analyzed, the size of which is largely due to depletions caused by the extortion of tax on goods and services by entities participating in VAT carousels. The summary section presents conclusions and suggestions regarding the introduction of further legal and institutional solutions that could contribute to an even more effective fight against this type of criminal activities
