Prospective catalytic structured converters for of from biogas stationary engines : in situ template-free synthesis of ZSM-5 Cu exchanged catalysts on steel carriers
The main objective of this study is to develop
highly active catalyst and its preparation method that
would meet the requirements of steel carriers for short-
channel structured converters for NO
x
abatement from
stationary biogas engines. The in situ synthesis was applied
to deposit a series of Cu-exchanged MFI zeolite (ZSM-5)
on kanthal sheets. The samples differ in preparation con-
ditions: organic template assisted and template-free syn-
thesis, Si/Al ratio and catalyst carrier pretreatment
(calcined vs. non-calcined). Dip-coating method was used
as a reference to compare loading efficiency. In order to
evaluate preparation quality and purity of resulting struc-
ture the samples were examined by XRD and SEM/EDS at
various stages of preparation. For the assessment of
mechanical endurance of the deposited catalyst layers the
ultrasonication method was used. The results demonstrated
high depositing efficiency of the in situ synthesis as well as
high activity and selectivity of the Cu-exchanged MFI
samples prepared without costly organic template
Assessment of quality of life of patients after resection of gallbladder with laparoscopic and traditional method
Admission
Cholelithiasis is one of the most common conditions in the abdominal cavity. The highest incidence is observed in highly developed or developing countries. Bile duct diseases often require surgical treatment, which is a great physical and mental burden for the patient. The perspective of the surgical procedure and the accompanying circumstances is a sense of insecurity and fear for the patient and his family. The fact of the prevalence of cholelithiasis and the effects of the disease may have an impact on the quality of life of people after gallbladder surgery.
Objective of the work
The aim of the study was to assess the quality of life of patients after resection of the gall bladder using laparascopy and traditional methods.
Research methods
As a research method, the diagnostic survey method was used, a standardized WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire was used, in which the analysis of the collected material referred to the somatic, psychological, social and environmental sphere.
Results
The obtained research results allowed to state that socio-demographic variables differentiated the patients' opinions on the subjective assessment of the quality of life and health. The place of residence does not have a significant impact on the quality of life.

Controlling structural and functional features of photosynthetic antenna
In order to gain control over the assembly and functioning of photosynthetic antenna, we have developed methods to manipulate pigment composition of bacterial LH1 complexes via their reconstitution with modified bacteriochlorophylls or carotenoids, major photoactive cofactors of these antennae. In the present work we show how the reconstitution and pigment exchange approach is applied to control structural and functional parameters of LH1 and its subunits. The size of the subunits and the energy of the first excited singlet state can be controlled via the use of detergent while the thermodynamics of LH1 formation can be modified using carotenoids and/or a co-solvent. Carotenoids affect the efficiency of the intracomplex energy transfer, while the replacement of native bacteriochlorophyll a with its Ni-substituted analog allows one to control the excited state properties of LH1. These results show that LH1 is a very promising model system applicable for the design of bio-inspired device performing solar energy conversion

Women’s expectations regardings medical outpatient implemented in gynaecological
Admission
Primary health care is the first level of a professional medical service, to which patients with their ailments and health problems apply. Access to basic health care services should be free from any physical, organizational and financial barriers due to the willingness to use the services of various patients.
Objective of the work
The aim of the work was to get to know the expectations of women regarding the medical care provided in the gynaecological clinic. In order to achieve the research objective, the issues concerning, among other things, the level of satisfaction of women with the functioning and offering of medical services in the gynecological clinic as well as the expectations of women during visits to the gynecological clinic were chosen.
Material and methods
The research was based on the method of a diagnostic survey using a standardized questionnaire, which was addressed to women using gynecological outpatient services.
Results
The research shows that the most frequent respondents visited the gynecologist once every three years, (49.33%, n = 74). Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between the professional activity of the surveyed women and the frequency of visits to the gynecologist (p = 0.004). The study showed that most often during the visit to the gynecological clinic, the respondents expected: gynecological examination (93.33%), cytological examination (83.33%) and breast examination (69.33%).
Conclusions
Expectations of women during a visit to the gynecological clinic concern primarily the obtaining of information on research and treatment. Women using the gynecological clinic are satisfied with the offered medical services and the way the clinic operates. Women aged 30-41 with higher education are significantly more satisfied with the gynecological clinic than women under 30 and over 40 years of age and with basic or vocational and married education
Assessment of knowledge of nursing students on HBV and HCV infection prophylaxis : introductory report
HBV and HCV infections are not given enough attention even though they affect 500-600 million people around the world.
Every year in Poland about 1500 people are infected with Hepatitis B and according to research carried out in 2009, about 2% of Poles are
infected with Hepatitis C. Healthcare workers are often exposed in contact with blood and other potentially infectious matter, especially if
health and safety regulations are not adheared to. The aim of the research was to ascertain nursing students' knowledge level on after-exposition procedures against HBV,
HBC and other hazardous material. Research was carried out among third year students at University of Bielsko-Biala and Medical University of Silesia.
Methods used included: poll and survey questionnaire (prepared by the authors) and knowledge test. The majority of the surveyed students know the methods of HBV and HCV transmission and can state the after-exposition procedures. A small proportion of them performs invasive procedures without individual protection means. Among surveyed students there were
people who were exposed to probable transmission and the implemented proceedings did not comply with after-exposition procedures. The analysis of the obtained data led to the conclusion that the knowledge level of nursing students on prophylaxis and afterexposure procedures is insufficient and requires supplementation. Special attention should be paid to education in the field of health and
safety which will contribute to the increase of awareness thus causing a reduction of students' exposition and in the future the exposition of
healthcare workers
Relationships between body weight and percentage body fat in the body and the development of osteopenia and osteoporosis
Obesity nowadays is a significant problem in developing countries and developed ones. Both the percentage of adipose tissue in the body and the proportion of muscle tissue affect the condition of the skeletal system. The common origin of adipose tissue and muscle tissue shows that overweight and obesity are not indifferent to the metabolism of bone tissue. Both malnutrition and obesity can lead to unfavorable health effects, contributing to the development of bone disorders and the occurrence of osteopenia, osteopenia with sarcoidosis, osteoporosis or osteoarthritis. Increased percentage of adipose tissue and/or muscle tissue during menopause may have an osteoprotective effect and thus prevent or relieve the effects of menopause in women or andropause in men. Research aimed at measuring the content of adipose tissue as a supplement to other diagnostic tests may contribute to the early detection and even prevention of osteoporosis.
