We Need To Talk: Advancing Urban School Social Worker Knowledge of ADHD and Collaboration with Teachers

The high prevalence of ADHD continues to present a challenge, particularly in high poverty urban schools. Low-income children of color are both more likely to be diagnosed with the disorder and more likely to be under-treated compared to their Caucasian peers. While significant attention is paid to what teachers across a variety of school settings know about ADHD, little is known about school social workers knowledge of ADHD. In addition, little is also known about the collaborative processes by which school social workers support teachers in addressing ADHD in urban schools. Utilizing a mixed-methods survey design, this study explored urban elementary school social worker knowledge of ADHD and inter-disciplinary collaboration processes between school social workers and teachers. Findings indicated that urban elementary school social workers N=43 had strong knowledge of ADHD causes and symptoms. No significant differences were observed when compared to their suburban elementary school colleagues N=24 as measured by The ADHD Belief and Attitudes Scale (Johnston and Freeman, 2002). A directive content analysis of responses for N= 43 urban elementary school social workers further revealed key findings. First, school social workers were able to identify a number of behavioral and instructional strategies applicable to students with attention related difficulties. Secondly, while collaboration between teachers and school social workers may occur during participation in interdisciplinary school teams and informal discussions, time constraints and teacher receptiveness presented as major barriers for consistent and effective collaboration. Given the limited resources of many urban school settings, it would benefit schools to promote the role of the school social worker and collaborative practices with teachers in addressing ADHD and similar disruptive behavior disorders within the classroom

Influence of Source Propagation Direction and Shear Flow Profile in Impedance Eduction of Acoustic Liners

The acoustic impedance of liners is a key parameter for their design, and depends on the flow conditions, i.e., the sound pressure level and the presence of a grazing flow. The surface impedance of a locally reacting liner is defined as a local intrinsic property relating the acoustic pressure to the normal acoustic particle velocity at the liner surface. Impedance eduction techniques are now widely used to retrieve the impedance of liners in aeroacoustic facilities in the presence of a shear grazing flow. While surface impedance is intrinsic by definition, the educed impedance has recently been shown to depend on the direction of the incident waves relative to the mean flow. Different studies have investigated this issue by considering different acoustic propagation models used in the education process in the hope of matching the educed values. The purpose of the present work is to continue the previous investigations by evaluating the influence of the shear flow profile on the educed impedance, while considering a Bayesian inference process in order to evaluate the uncertainty on the educed values. The identified uncertainties were not able to totally account for the observed discrepancies between educed impedances

This bureaucratic reform was also carried out in Musi Rawas Regency. BKPSDM which has the main task of carrying out the affairs of the Regional Government in the formulation and implementation of regional policies in the field of Civil Service and has a function in connection with regional staffing affairs is the spearhead in the bureaucracy reform that was nationally proclaimed. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods.Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, In accordance with the research method, the data analysis technique used in this study uses qualitative techniques. From the main elements of the organization namely Men, Money and Material all three are important elements, but what are the human factors that will provide energy for other elements (Money and Meterial), Human Empowerment in an organization is very vital, SWOT analysis produces strengths and opportunities in human empowerment by maximizing supervision by utilizing budget availability

Background : Indonesia has 216,9 million number of people with 1,36% population growth rate. In order to restrict this rapid population increasing, Governmalet had done the construction oriented to the justice and gender equality in Family planning and Reproductive Health. One of the gender equality in family planning was male participation in contraceptive USAge. But, nowadays the gender equality in Indonesia is still dominated by women. Based on the data of UPTB KB Monthly Report Kecamatan Indralaya, male participation in contraceptive USAge in Kelurahan Indralaya Mulya was still bad. Because of that, this research aimed to know the male participation in contraceptive USAge. Method : Used analytic survey method with cross sectional study design. Sample in this research was male who have wife aged 15-49 years old which amounts to 82 people. The sampling technique used simple random sampling. Data analysis technique used univariate and bivariate with statistic test used Chi Square test. Result : Showed that from 7 independent variables, 5 variables were connected to male participation in family planning, education (pvalue = 0,001), knowledge (pvalue = 0,014), family planning services access (pvalue = 0,010), male family planning quality service (pvalue = 0,030) and male family planning image (acceptance) (pvalue = 0,008). Conclusion : Variables related to male participation in family planning are education, knowledge, family planning services access, male family planning quality service and male family planning image (acceptance) whereas variables which are not related are age and number of children

The Effect of Different Ways of Chitosan Coating on Smoked Catfish (Pangasius Hypophthalmus) Quality During Room Temperature Storage

This research was aimed to determine the effect of different ways of chitosan coatingon the quality of smoked catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus) during room temperaturestorage. The method used in this research was experimental method, with coating of chitosanin different ways to smoked catfish; without treatment (K0), spraying with 2% of chitosanconcentration (K1), and brushing with 2% of chitosan concentration (K2). Smoked catfish wasobserved to organoleptic test appearance, odor, flavor, texture; moisture content, proteincontent, fat content, peroxide value; identification of fungi and bacteria Staphylococcusaureus. The results showed that smoked catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus) was coated withbrushing 2% of chitosan concentration could slowdown the deterioration smoked catfishquality during room temperature storage, with organoleptic value of appearance, odor, flavor, and texture was 6.78, 6.74, 6.72 and 6.84 respectively. Proximate value, also could slowdownthe deterioration in protein content (34.44% to 29.97%) and fat content (31.60% to 24.39%).Its could inhibit the increasing of moisture content (10.09% to 15.37%) and peroxide value(0.00mg ek/1000g to 7.38mg ek/1000g); the fungus Aspergillus sp and Staphylococcusaureus were not found during room temperature storage
