Influence of Source Propagation Direction and Shear Flow Profile in Impedance Eduction of Acoustic Liners
The acoustic impedance of liners is a key parameter for their design, and depends on the flow conditions, i.e., the sound pressure level and the presence of a grazing flow. The surface impedance of a locally reacting liner is defined as a local intrinsic property relating the acoustic pressure to the normal acoustic particle velocity at the liner surface. Impedance eduction techniques are now widely used to retrieve the impedance of liners in aeroacoustic facilities in the presence of a shear grazing flow. While surface impedance is intrinsic by definition, the educed impedance has recently been shown to depend on the direction of the incident waves relative to the mean flow. Different studies have investigated this issue by considering different acoustic propagation models used in the education process in the hope of matching the educed values. The purpose of the present work is to continue the previous investigations by evaluating the influence of the shear flow profile on the educed impedance, while considering a Bayesian inference process in order to evaluate the uncertainty on the educed values. The identified uncertainties were not able to totally account for the observed discrepancies between educed impedances
Pengaruh Model Poe (Predict-observe-explain) terhadap Hasil Belajar Kimia pada Kelas XI Materi Kelarutan dan Hasil Kali Kelarutan di SMA Negeri 4 Pasangkayu
The type of in this research is the experimental of research with using of model POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) held in to SMAN 4 Pasangkayu XI science of class. The experiment class (XI IPA 2) using POE learning the model cinsists of 21 student and the class of control (XI IPA 1) using of research conventional learning model to consists of 17 students. This research aims to determine the effect learning of a POE model on learning outcomes in chemistry class XI science student of SMAN 4 Pasangkayu. The test was gave before and after the learning twice (pretest and posttest). The observation sheet was used to observe student's learning of activities. T test was performed after normality test and data homogenity. Based on the data analysis the average for experiment class is 11.07 with the mastery percentage of 71.42% while of 28.57% did not completed. For a control class average to valve 9,08 with the percentage completeness to valve learning a student 41.17% while not completed of 58.82%. In this matter to pointed that there are to affect of POE model on learning result in chemistry to XI exact science of class with material on the solubility and product solubility to SMAN 4 of Pasangkayu, cause can to interest layer and result of student learning
Biocharcoal dari Serbuk Gergaji Kayu Cempaka (Elmerrillia Ovalis Miq) Serta Daya Adsorpsinya pada Zink dan Tembaga
Cempaka wood is a typical wood in Sulawesi Island and Maluku archipelago. This wood can be used for wood industry particularly for the manufacture of furniture. However, not only furniture can be produced from the wood but also the sawdust as the waste. This research utilized the sawdust of cempaka wood as biocharcoal to adsorb zinc and copper ions included in liquid organic fertilizer complement based on variation of weight and concentration of biocharcoal. The method used in this study was the spectrophotometry spectroDirect with sawdust of cempaka wood as the adsorbent. The results showed the characteristic of water content of biocharcoal was 4.05% while ash content was 7.75%. The optimum weight of biocharcoal to adsorb zinc ions was 40 mg with the adsorption capacity of 19.97 mg/g while for copper ions was 60 mg with the adsorption capacity of 16.16 mg/g. The optimum concentration of zinc and copper ions than can be adsorbed was 60 ppm with the adsorption capacity of 11.80 mg/g for copper ion and 9.29 mg/g for zinc ion

A Whole CLOTTA Pain: A Case of IVC Thrombosis Presenting as Severe Abdominal Pain in a Patient with Anti-Phospholipid Syndrome
Background: Anti-phospholipid syndrome (APS) is an immune-mediated condition characterized by the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies in the setting of venous and arterial thrombosis and or pregnancy loss [1]. APS can be a primary syndrome or can be associated with connective tissue diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus. The goal of treatment in patients with APS is to decrease the risk of thromboembolic events and the standard of care is warfarin therapy. We describe a case of a 42-year-old gentleman with a history of APS on anticoagulation with apixaban who presented to the hospital with severe abdominal pain secondary to infrarenal IVC thrombosis. This case highlights the importance of appropriate anticoagulation in patients with APS.
Case Presentation: A 42-year-old man with a past medical history of APS presented to the hospital with a 7-day history of bilateral, dull, non-radiating, generalized abdominal pain. He denied any associated diarrhea, constipation, changes in urination, fever, nausea, or vomiting. Physical examination was notable for tachycardia with HR 110s, BP 150/100 mmHg, and a distended, tender abdomen with visible abdominal varicosities. Labs revealed a WBC 20,000 th/uL, creatinine of 2.0 mg/dL, AST 15 IU/L, ALT 20 IU/L, alkaline phosphatase 101gm/dL, INR of 1.12, and a PTT of 62.2 secs. CT abdomen and pelvis without contrast showed severe narrowing and occlusion of the infrarenal inferior vena cava over a length of 6-7 cm with dilated tortuous varices. Liver US demonstrated normal-appearing flow in hepatic veins and the intrahepatic IVC. The patient was evaluated by surgery however recommendations were made to treat the patient medically with a heparin drip with a bridge to warfarin.
Discussion: Anticoagulation therapy in patients with APS is important as these patients can develop severe, life-threatening thrombotic events. Warfarin therapy is superior to direct oral anticoagulant (doac) therapy in preventing thrombotic events in these patients. Given the episode of thrombosis on doac therapy, our patient will be on lifelong warfarin therapy with an INR goal of 3.5. He has not had a recurrence of thrombotic events
