    A Hybridized- Logistic Regression and Deep Learning-based Approaches for Precise Anomaly Detection in Cloud

    Anomaly Detection plays a pivot role in determining the abnormal behaviour in the cloud domain. The objective of the manuscript is to present two approaches for Precise Anomaly Detection Approaches by hybridizing RBM with LR and SVM models. The various phases in the present approach are (a) Data collection (b) Pre-processing and normalization; OneHot Encoder for converting categorical values to numerical values followed by encoding the binary features through normalization (c) training the data (d) Building the Feedforward Deep Belief Network (EDBN) using hybridizing Restricted Boltzmann Machine (RBM) with Logistic Regression (LR) and Support Vector Machine (SVM); In the first approach, RBM model is trained through unsupervised pre-training followed by fine-tuning using LR model. In the later approach, RBM model is trained through unsupervised pre-training followed by fine-tuning using SVM model; both the approaches adopt unsupervised pre-training followed by supervised-fine-tuning operations (e) Model Evaluation using the significant parameters such as Precision, Recall, Accuracy, F1-score and Confusion Matrix. The experimental evaluations concluded the effective anomaly detection techniques by integrating the RBM with LR and SVM for capturing the intricate patterns and complex relationships among the data. The proposed approaches paves a path to improved anomaly detection technique, thereby enhancing the security features and anomaly monitoring systems across distinct domains

    Hierarchal attribute based cryptographic model to handle security services in cloud environment: a new model

    The sharing of information in the cloud is a unique element of the environment, but there is a risk that the information may land with the wrong people. To counterattack this problem, security-associated methodologies were used to secure the information that was readily available to clients. Despite the lack of benefits, this provides productive/adaptability and dependability in access control strategies between clients in the sharing of information. The novel hierarchal attribute-based cryptographic security model (NHACSM) is being proposed to provide adaptability, versatility, and access control in sharing information in the appropriate climate. This model allows clients to share information in a hierarchal way, allowing for a productive assessment of access control strategy and improved security. The NHACSM method is used to reduce the total time values for different user instances compared to conventional approaches, for example, attribute-set-based encryption (ASBE), key-policy attribute-based encryption (KP-ABE), and ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE). With respect to 10 instances existing methods achieve 2.7, 2.5, and 2.3 respectively, and also compared to 20, 30, 40, and 50 instances, our proposed method is low.     Effect of Right Median Nerve Stimulation on Level of Consciousness in Traumatic Brain Injury Subjects

    The median nerve serves a peripheral gateway to the central nervous system. Median nerve stimulation is positively associated with regaining the level of consciousness in patients with traumatic brain injury, but the level of evidence is still a research question. So the purpose of the study is to find out the effectiveness of right median nerve stimulation on the level of consciousness and the relation between them in subjects with traumatic brain injury. Twenty subjects with traumatic brain injury of axonal type were selected for study and randomized into two groups. Experimental group received right median nerve stimulation along with medications where as control group received medications only one month, 30 minutes a day. Glasgow coma scale is used to assess the changes in conscious levels. The results have revealed that there is significance improvement noted in experimental group when compared to control group. Comparison  of Glassgow coma scale scores between experimental and control groups after one month showed significant difference with a P value 0.0261.     Laser Writable Polymers: Markability and Durability Characteristics

    Characters on computer keyboards are typically printed using one of the two different processes, namely tampographic printing and laser marking. Tampographic printing is time consuming (app. 3-5 mins.), requires skilled workers and employs difficult-to-handle chemicals. On the other hand, the laser marking process is rapid «1 min.), relatively cheap, avoids the need for chemicals and can be carried out with fewer, less skilled operatives than required for tampographic printing. Data from a keyboard production company indicated that there has been a sudden decline in the percentage (from 60% in 2001 to less than 10% in 2003) of laser marked keyboard users over recent years due to a lack of initial contrast of white characters on a dark plastic and poor durability. Under usual office conditions, characters that are used more regularly e.g. 'e' or's', can be erased in less than 3-6 months. Further, generating a durable high contrast laser mark on dark coloured polymers has also long been an issue.The thesis initially reports on an investigation into the reasons for lack of initial contrast and subsequent discolouration of laser marked and tampo printed characters. This is followed by the development of a range of plastics compounds based on ABS and containing a series of different additives. Criteria for selecting additives that would respond appropriately to a laser are also proposed. The compounds were laser marked under a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser at different power, frequency and speed settings. Plaques of the material were manufactured and laser marked in a grid-like pattern to study both the effect of frequency and speed of marking. The mechanisms associated with the laser-material interaction during the marking process were also investigated using light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Microscopy was also employed to observe the morphology of the marks left by the laser. Finally a unique test regime was designed to characterise the durability of the laser markings under conditions that attempt to simulate those experienced in practice.Results show that aluminium trihydroxide generated superior contrast and exhibited enhanced durability characteristics when compared with nine other micro-additives. Nano-additives, such as nano titanium dioxide portrayed better contrast and durability performance when compared to their micro-size additive equivalents. Analysis of the test plaque results clearly demonstrated that for a specific material compound, it is possible to optimise the laser settings to achieve the best combination of character contrast and durability.Finally, this work is believed to have made a significant contribution to the rather sparse laser markable polymers research field. It will assist in the development of a more fundamental understanding of laser/material interactions and provide a basis for future work in optimising materials formulations for successful laser marking

    Formulation and Validation of Multidisciplinary Design Problem on Wear and Fatigue Life of Lead Screw Actuators

    Multidisciplinary design optimization has been widely applied in the optimization of large-scale complex system and also in the design and optimization of components, which are involved in multidisciplinary behaviors. The wear and fatigue life of lead screw actuators is a typical multidisciplinary problem. The wear behaviors of actuators closely relate to many factors such as loads, lubrications, materials properties, surface properties, pressures, and temperature. Therefore, the wear and fatigue life of actuators cannot be modeled without a simultaneous consideration of solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, contact mechanics, and thermal dynamics. In this paper, the wear and fatigue life of a lead screw actuator is modeled and validated. Firstly, the theory of asperity contact and Archard’s model of sliding wear are applied to estimate the amount of wear under certain circumstances. Secondly, a test platform is developed based on a standard ASTM test protocol, and the wear phenomenon at the ball-on-flat sliding is measured to validate the developed wear model. Thirdly, finite element analysis is conducted using Nastran to assess the contact stresses in the lead screw and nut assembly model. The estimated data from the three sources are finally merged to formulate a mathematical model in predicting the wear and fatigue life for the optimization of lead screw actuators

Recent developments in Py-GC technology and instrumentation include laser pyrolysis and non-discriminating pyrolysis. Progress has also been made in the detection of low level polymer additives with the use of novel Py-GC devices. Furthermore, it has been predicted that future advances in separation technology such as the use of comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography will further enhance the analytical scope of Py-GC
