An understanding of the process by which consumers match consumption choices to personal values is powerful aid to guide strategic market orientation. It is of particular importance in the highly saturated food markets of developed countries, where consumer needs are shifting closer and closer towards the search for quality and emotional benefits. This study sets out to explore variation in the consumer choice structure in relation to three products with different levels of search, experience and credence attributes, using means-end chain theory. The results suggest the presence of an emotional component in foods that increases in complexity (becomes more abstract) with the number of credence attributes associated with the product; a fact worthy of the consideration of product managers when designing marketing strategies.quality, the information economy, search, experience and credence goods, means-end chain, laddering, abstraction, Food Consumption/Nutrition/Food Safety,

In recent years, consumer concerns on environmental and health issues related to food products have increased and, as a result, the demand for organically grown production has grown. Higher costs of production and retailer margins generate a gap between real prices and those that consumers are willing to pay for organic food. In this article, consumer willingness to pay for organic food in two Spanish regions is analyzed. Markets in both regions are segmented considering consumers lifestyles. Results indicate that consumers concerned about healthy diet and environmental degradation are the most likely to buy organic food, and are willing to pay a high premium. Organic attributes are easily identified in perishable products as the premium consumers would pay for organic meat, fruits, and vegetables is higher.Demand and Price Analysis,

The Public Institutiones Of Higher Education: Analysis Of The Factors That Affects The Educational System

The purpose of the present research is to study the effects of statistical data on the behavior of Higher Education Faculties (IPES) in some states of the Mexican Republic. According to the ANUIES (2012) data base, in Hidalgo State 17% of students concluded their career, while 10.7% is graduated, this is associated that some students delay the academic process. In Mexico State 14.4% students complete the higher studies, but only 74.25% obtain their professional grade. Puebla indicates that 18% finished their studies and only 76% are graduated. Therefore, the most outstanding problems in higher education are the following situations: • Inequity in access to the detriment of young people from low economic status. • Limited relations with industrial-productive areas. • Discrepancy with other educational levels. • Insufficient economical support for research in public Universities and restricted relationship with the science and technology system. • Weak relevance and quality. • Growth of student population in higher institutions. Finally, the problematic considers that IPES has influences in the commitment of human resource to improve the results of the academic institutions, since in the higher education is one of the main factors in the educational process. Within the functional areas of the IPES, the main component to be studied is the academic employees, who provide the institution with knowledge, skills, abilities and capacities, which become human resource advantages; In return for this, the employees obtain benefits of salary, rewards, gratuities and promotions, therefore the degree of satisfaction increases its disposition when maintaining lines of activity with the educational organization. In this relationship of economic-social interchange the norm of reciprocity and variables such as communication, motivation, job satisfaction, identity, teamwork and leadership, so the degree of employee satisfaction generates a sense of belonging that favors the achievement of organizational objectives

Confidence in the Beef Production System as a Key Factor to Mitigate the Impact of BSE on Beef Consumption

    Get PDF
Recent food scares in the food market has caused a reduction in consumer's confidence in the food system that it has induced a significant reduction in consumption in a sector, the beef sector that was already characterized by a saturated trend in quantity terms. In this context, all participants in the beef production system are facing to a great challenge, to retrieve consumer's confidence in the food chain and to mitigate the reduction in beef consumption. The aim of the paper is to analyse the impact of consumer's confidence in the food system as well as other factors on the explanation of food consumption reduction. A structural modelling approach has been used to analyse factors affecting the reduction in beef consumption in two different regions characterised by different production systems and different marketing strategies (PGI beef label). Results indicate that main factor explaining the reduction in beef consumption is the confidence in the beef and a positive relation has been found. Moreover, confidence in a product is directly related to the perceived quality offered by farmers and other decision makers on the beef chain, and to the consumer involvement with the product. Therefore, the main implication is that participants in the food chain has to develop adequate communication strategies such as quality labelling in order to increase consumers perceive quality because, higher quality perception will recover consumers' confidence in beef, and therefore, it will mitigate beef consumption reduction.food confidence, consumer behaviour, structural equation modelling, beef sector, quality label, Food Consumption/Nutrition/Food Safety,

The role of gas infall in the evolution of disc galaxies

    Get PDF
Spiral galaxies are thought to acquire their gas through a protracted infall phase resulting in the inside-out growth of their associated discs. For field spirals, this infall occurs in the lower density environments of the cosmic web. The overall infall rate, as well as the galactocentric radius at which this infall is incorporated into the star-forming disc, plays a pivotal role in shaping the characteristics observed today. Indeed, characterising the functional form of this spatio-temporal infall in-situ is exceedingly difficult, and one is forced to constrain these forms using the present day state of galaxies with model or simulation predictions. We present the infall rates used as input to a grid of chemical evolution models spanning the mass spectrum of discs observed today. We provide a systematic comparison with alternate analytical infall schemes in the literature, including a first comparison with cosmological simulations. Identifying the degeneracies associated with the adopted infall rate prescriptions in galaxy models is an important step in the development of a consistent picture of disc galaxy formation and evolution

In a constitutional rule of law are fundamental rights translated through substantive and procedural safeguards that identify it as existing in the different processes are respected them. In criminal proceeding s, the involvement of important legal rights such as freedom requires that the fundamental guarantees are respect in their entirety, this perspective in criminal law has remained exclusively for the accused, however, in criminal proceedings there are other parties to the proceedings as the victim. The victim in the criminal process has gained significant relevance today, more so during the term of the new Criminal Procedure Code since April two thousand and seven in the Judicial District of La Libertad-Trujillo, because in lawsuit judges do not use interpretation criterions like unity of constitution, practical agreement, functional correction, integrated function and legal vigency, to make use of 95°,100° and 101° CPP articles, obstructing its legal presence in intermediate stage by conditioning presence as aggrieved just until accusation control, placing lim in inequal situation in front of the accused person, this situation is increased during the oral trial by being unabled to prove the real acts so that the lawsuit can be defined through the jur. In order to prove the hypothesis, several methods and technics, with emphasis in the cases analysis and the interview to 50 lawyers who were specialist of this topic, wich has been confirmed through results in demonstrated in statistical charts, according to these, a high percentage of victim grievance in the own fundamental rights, divided in the discussion of results. Ended up in summarized conclusions, wich from a constitutional point of view, 95°, 100° and 101° articles of CPPP affect fundamental rights for law access and equality in the victim, having as purpose that the victim could interact in a correct position in front of the accused person during the penal trial.Tesi
