The results of the patterned microstructures fabrication through electrochemical anodizing, sol-gel synthesis, photolithography and chemical etching are presented. The continuous xerogel films were used as a protective mask. They are good alternative to metal in photolithography. Perspectives of application of these structures in planar optoelectronics are discussed

SPONTANEOUS AND LPS-INDUCED PRODUCTION OF 26 CYTOKINES SECRETED BY BLOOD CELLS OF PATIENTS WITH LIVER CIRRHOSIS DURING OF CELL THERAPY

The objective of the present study was to assess the level of 26 cytokines secreted by peripheral blood cells of the patients with liver cirrhosis (LC; n = 20) during the cell therapy (CT). All the patients were administered with intravenously injected autologous bone marrow-derived mononuclear cells (MNCs) in a dose of 1.3±0.3 × 109 (Ме 1.0 × 109 ) followed by 14 days later intravenous injection of ex vivo generated mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) in a dose of 22.3±5.0 × 106 (Ме 16.0 × 106 ). The patients were examined before the CT, 2-3 days after the administration of MNCs and, then, 2-3 days after the introduction of MSCs. Cytokine-secretory function of peripheral blood cells was evaluated in a 24-hour whole blood cultures both in the absence of any stimulation and in response to lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The control group consisted of 10 healthy donors. The administration of patients’ bone marrow cells (both MNCs and MSC) was safe and well tolerated and caused no any adverse (toxic or allergic) events. Compared with donors, LC patients (especially, with class B+C by Child-Pugh) differed by an initially increased production of several cytokines and chemokines. Actually, there was a statistically significant increase of the spontaneous production of IL-9, MIP-1β, and IP-10, as well as a distinct trend to an increase in TNFα, IL-1ra, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-13, of MCP-1, MIP-1α, RANTES and Eotaxin. Moreover, the blood cells of LC patients were susceptible to the stimulatory effect of LPS, and the LPS-induced production of 11 out of 26 cytokines (IL-1ra, IL-6, IL-9, IL-15, IL-17, IL-7, IL-8, IP-10, MIP-1α, MIP-1β, Eotaxin) significantly exceeded the normative values. Transplantation of bone marrow MNCs had minimal impact on cytokine production. Meanwhile, the MSCs introduction resulted in a significant decrease in spontaneous and LPS-induced production of, respectively, 20 and 18 analytes including pro-/anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory cytokines, chemokines and growth factors. The normalization of cytokine-secretory function following transplantation of MSCs revealed in the patients with LC indicates the weakening of an inflammatory activity of circulating blood cells and the decrease in their reactivity to endotoxin. MSC suppressive effect on cytokine production was dose-dependent, and most pronounced in patients with decompensated LC (class B+C by Child-Pugh) of viral etiology

The results of synthesis and analysis of the film structures fabricated from suspensions based on titanium dioxide sol and terbium-doped yttrium aluminum composite powder are presented. The film structures comprising titania with terbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet grains were fabricated by sol-gel method on the textured aluminum foil. The synthesized samples reveal strong room temperature terbium photoluminescence with the most intensive band at 543 nm.

Au@UiO-66: a base free oxidation catalyst

[EN] We present the in situ synthesis of Au nanoparticles within the Zr based Metal Organic Framework, UiO-66. The resulting Au@UiO-66 materials were characterized by means of N-2 sorption, XRPD, UV-Vis, XRF, XPS and TEM analysis. The Au nanoparticles (NP) are homogeneously distributed along the UiO-66 host matrix when using NaBH4 or H-2 as reducing agents. The Au@UiO-66 materials were evaluated as catalysts in the oxidation of benzyl alcohol and benzyl amine employing O-2 as oxidant. The Au@MOF materials exhibit a very high selectivity towards the ketone (up to 100%). Regenerability and stability tests demonstrate that the Au@UiO-66 catalyst can be recycled with a negligible loss of Au species and no loss of crystallinity. In situ IR measurements of UiO-66 and Au@UiO-66-NaBH4, before and after treatment with alcohol, showed an increase in IR bands that can be assigned to a combination of physisorbed and chemisorbed alcohol species. This was confirmed by velocity power spectra obtained from the molecular dynamics simulations. Active peroxo and oxo species on Au could be visualized with Raman analysis.K.L. acknowledges the nancial support from the Ghent University BOF postdoctoral grant 01P06813T and UGent GOA Grant 01G00710. The results of study the morphology of the microstructured porous anodic alumina films formed using electrochemical anodization, sol-gel synthesis, photolithography and chemical etching are given. The metal mask was not used in photolithography, because of fabrication the continuous xerogel film. The perspective of application of these structures in planar optoelectronics and photocatalyses are discussed.

    Development of oats syrup technology

    No full text
Interest in the cultivation and using of naked oats has increased significantly in recent years in the most of countries. This is due to dietary and curative properties of the grain and its derived products such as syrups. Technological stages of syrup production are germinating of cereal, preparation of wort and its concentration. The article reviews an issue concerning the impact of wort concentration temperature on the physico-chemical indicators of syrup, as well as, considers an experimental data on the content of dietary fiber and vitamins in syrups, and illustrates carbohydrate content of end-products. It is found that with increasing of wort concentration temperature from 40 ° C to 70 ° C the time of the process reduces 3.7 times, and further it leads to lessening of the reducing substances from 53.9% to 45.7% and increases the colour of syrup from 61.7 EBC units to 68.5 EBC units. For obtaining of optimal physicochemical parameters of syrup and ensuring a minimum time of concentration recommended temperature of the process is 60 ° C. It is shown that the syrup produced from commercial malt contains 2.2 times more pentosans compared to the syrup produced from Vyatsky oat. In turn, syrup from Vyatsky oat contains 2.5 times more β-glucan - the most important physico-chemical component in a viewpoint of nutrition. The carbohydrate composition of syrups permits to recommend them for using in functional products as well as high content of dietary fiber and vitamins gives a perspective of their application in the food industry
