Workplace bullying of nurses in hospitals in China is a very sensitive and important issue.  Nurses are vulnerable to aggressive behaviors of doctors, hospital admin staff, and attendants or relatives of patients.  The purpose of this study was to investigate the incidence rate and prevalence of workplace bullying of nurses in various hospitals in China and to recognize the risk factors that contribute to it. This research was conducted on 300 nurses from four hospitals in Guangxi, china using a cross-sectional survey design. The incidence rate of workplace bullying of nurses in hospitals in China was 41.0%. The workplace prevalence varies significantly based on age, gender, marital status, and hospital level. The detailed analysis of the results collected from this research showed that age, gender, hospital level, and marital status of nurses were significant determinants of workplace bullying. This research gives us a detailed analysis of workplace bullying of nurses in hospitals in China and it can help us in understanding what factors contribute to workplace bullying of nurses in China. So the local authorities and government could find better solutions to manage it and decrease its incidence

Rhabdomyosarcoma of the nasal cavity: a case report

Introduction: Rhabdomyosarcoma is a high-grade malignant neoplasm with skeletal muscle differentiation; a common soft tissue sarcoma in children but considered one of the rarest in adults. Case description: We report a case of 35-year-old male with a chronic productive cough and haemoptysis for five days. A CT scan of the nasopharynx revealed a blocked left maxillary and ethmoid sinus with bone destruction. These findings raised a suspicion of a tumour, and trans-nasal endoscopic sinus surgery was performed. Discussion: Nasal rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare adult malignant tumour. Most patients have lymphatic metastasis or skull base tumour infiltration at the time of the initial diagnosis and treatment, which poses a challenge to the diagnosis and management. Conclusion: Nasal acinar rhabdomyosarcoma, one of the histopathological types of rhabdomyosarcoma, has rapid disease progression and high mortality. Therefore, the treatment of rhabdomyosarcoma requires a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy to work together to achieve the best care for the patient

Purpose: To study the differences in lipid-soluble compounds from naturally-fermented Rhizoma Pinelliae fermentata (BXQ) samples, and fermentation products of BXQ using pure cultures of Bacillus subtilis, Aspergillus niger, and Meyerozyma guillermondii. Methods: First, unfermented BXQ (CTFJ-Q), traditional, naturally-fermented BXQ (CTFJ-H), and fermentation products of BXQ using pure cultures of Bacillus subtilis (XJFJ), Aspergillus niger (MJFJ), and Meyerozyma guillermondii (JMJFJ) were obtained. Their lipid-soluble components were then analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) technology and principal component analysis (PCA). Results: GC-MS results showed that there were 26, 24, 27, 31 and 32 types of chemical components in CTFJ-Q, CTFJ-H, XJFJ, MJFJ and JMJFJ, respectively. Furthermore, PCA revealed that samples obtained using fermentation with pure cultures of the three microorganisms had unique chemical components. Conclusion: These results suggest that the microorganisms used for fermentation greatly influence the lipid-soluble components of BXQ. This finding is considered beneficial for the optimization of BXQ fermentation process

Genotyping of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi strains isolated from 1959 to 2006 in China and analysis of genetic diversity by genomic microarray

Aim To determine the genotype of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi (S. Typhi) strains in China and analyze their genetic diversity. Methods We collected S. Typhi strains from 1959 to 2006 in five highly endemic Chinese provinces and chose 40 representative strains. Multilocus sequence typing was used to determine the genotypes or sequence types (ST) and microarray-based comparative genomic hybridization (M-CGH) to investigate the differences in gene content among these strains. Results Forty representative S. Typhi strains belonged to 4 sequence types (ST1, ST2, ST890, and ST892). The predominant S. Typhi genotype (31/40) was ST2 and it had a diverse geographic distribution. We discovered two novel STs – ST890 and ST892. M-CGH showed that 69 genes in these two novel STs were divergent from S. Typhi Ty2, which belongs to ST1. In addition, 5 representative Typhi strains of ST2 isolated from Guizhou province showed differences in divergent genes. Conclusion We determined two novel sequence types, ST890 and ST892, and found that ST2 was the most prevalent genotype of S. Typhi in China. Genetic diversity was present even within a highly clonal bacterial population

AbstractThis paper conducts an analysis study on indoor thermal environment of a steam turbine room in power plant by CFD. Refer to a typical steam turbine room in an actual thermal power plant which has been conducted field test, the typical numerical simulation model is built including a reasonable indoor heat conditions, structural parameters and envelope architectural opening, flow boundary conditions. Indoor air temperature distribution and air velocity distribution of steam turbine room is obtained. Comparing the simulation results with the corresponding field measurement data on typical location show that two sets of results are very close. So accuracy and applicability of CFD simulations is proved. It is also proved that complete method for CFD simulations of the paper is appropriate for interior thermal environment study of typical steam turbine room and thus laid the foundation for the further studies of a large number of universal cases
