Moral Principles shown by Varadhar Nenjuvidu Thoothu
Literature is a mirror of the life of man. Due to the lack of time to read the classics in accordance with the change of time, many of the minor literature genres have been acquired. On that basis, famous kinds of minor literature such as Pillai Thamizh, Kovai, Bharani, Ula, Thoothu, etc., are featured. From that point of view, the researcher has chosen Varadhar Nenjuvidu Thoothu as his title in the Thoothu literature. This study is based on data on the period at which the minor literature originated, the interpretation of the word ‘Chitrilakiyam’, the significance of the word Chitrilakiyam, especially the semantics of the thoothu, the types of thoothu, the specialties of the Thoothu literature, and the moral principles in the Thoothu literature. This study is based on data on the principles of morality, the impermanence of worldly life, the degradation of human birth, the way to attain the benefit of birth, the destruction of sensuality, the dangers of human birth, the way in which the world can rise, the use of dasaavatharam, etc
Application of remote sensing in fisheries. In: Winter School on Impact of Climate Change on Indian Marine Fisheries held at CMFRI, Cochin 18.1.2008 to 7.2.2008
Satellite oceanic remote sensing is now playing a very important role in India for fishery forecasting,
research and management by providing synoptic oceanic measurements. These can be used for evaluating
environmental effects, which ultimately affects the abundance and availability of fish populations. Indian
seas, which have a coastline of 8118 km, an EEZ area of 2.02 million sq. km and a shelf area of 0.53 million
sq. km (Anon, 2002), have multi species composition. It is a well known fact that changes in ocean conditions
greatly influence the natural fluctuations of fish stocks. Hence the information on variations in ocean
conditions is necessary to understand the influence they cause on fish stocks and their distribution. This
knowledge will immensely help in formulating the best fishery management strategies and developing efficient
harvesting methods for fishery resources
PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF WATERMARKING APPROACH FOR VLSI DESIGN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION
VLSI technology brought revolution in EDA industry. Fabrication of complicated system on a chip is possible by using reusable module called Intellectual Property (IP) core. IP cores that became an integral part of the electronic design industry influenced and had a rather significant and almost incomparable impact with respect to system designing in any chip. IP designs for any organization are imperative; contrary, IP designs that are shared can significantly cause high security risks. The majority of IP’s require time as well as effort for purposes of designing and verification, however there still remains the possibility of these being copied or minor modifications to hide proof of ownership. To overcome this problem watermarking technique is recommended for IP Core protection. Watermark insertion in multilevel increases the security of the system. In this paper the ownership information is inserted in state transition outputs of State Transition Graph employing hierarchical representation of Finite state Machine (FSM) and subsequently in the netlist level by embedding watermark in the delay between the states. Watermark insertion at two levels increases the security of the design. Signature generation uses cryptographic algorithm for enhancing the security of the IP core designs. The experimental results show that performance is improved
Import substitution of combination wire rope. Part 2. Production and standardisation of 17 mm dia combination wire rope.
The prototype combination wire rope (Cift-CWR 1) developed for deep sea trawling was further studied for improvement, optimisation of efficiency and standardization. A series of improved prototype combination wire ropes (Cift-CWR 2 to 6) were twisted and evaluated their mechanical properties and reported in this paper with recommendations for a standard 17mm dia combination wire rope of 6S (7C+8+1 Scr) + 6 Crs(6+1+1 Crc) construction
Tensile strength properties of polyethylene netting twines under exposure to out-door and artificial UV radiation
Photodegradation of three types of polyethylene twines namely, polyethylene fibrillated tape twine, polyethylene flat tape twine and polyethylene monofilament twines were studied by exposing them to sunlight and artificial UV radiation. The percentage residual strength varied in the samples, the monofilament with the highest residual strength followed by fibrillated tape twine and flat tape twine. A plot of the difference between the breaking strengths of the fibrillated tape twine and the mono filament twines against any given period of exposure exhibited a linear relationshi
The hydrogen peroxide-sensitive proteome of the chloroplast in vitro and in vivo
Muthuramalingam M, Matros A, Scheibe R, Mock H-P, Dietz K-J. The hydrogen peroxide-sensitive proteome of the chloroplast in vitro and in vivo. Frontiers in Plant Science. 2013;4:54-1-54-14.Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) evolves during cellular metabolism and accumulates under various stresses causing serious redox imbalances. Many proteomics studies aiming to identify proteins sensitive to H2O2 used concentrations that were above the physiological range. Here the chloroplast proteins were subjected to partial oxidation by exogenous addition of H2O2 equivalent to 10% of available protein thiols which allowed for the identification of the primary targets of oxidation. The chosen redox proteomic approach employed differential labeling of non-oxidized and oxidized thiols using sequential alkylation with N-ethylmaleimide and biotin maleimide. The in vitro identified proteins are involved in carbohydrate metabolism, photosynthesis, redox homeostasis, and nitrogen assimilation. By using methyl viologen that induces oxidative stress in vivo, mostly the same primary targets of oxidation were identified and several oxidation sites were annotated. Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate (RubisCO) was a primary oxidation target. Due to its high abundance, RubisCO is suggested to act as a chloroplast redox buffer to maintain a suitable redox state, even in the presence of increased reactive oxygen species release. 2-cysteine peroxiredoxins (2-Cys Prx) undergo redox-dependent modifications and play important roles in antioxidant defense and signaling. The identification of 2-Cys Prx was expected based on its high affinity to H2O2 and is considered as a proof of concept for the approach. Targets of Trx, such as phosphoribulokinase, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, transketolase, and sedoheptulose-1,7-bisphosphatase have at least one regulatory disulfide bridge which supports the conclusion that the identified proteins undergo reversible thiol oxidation. In conclusion, the presented approach enabled the identification of early targets of H2O2 oxidation within the cellular proteome under physiological experimental conditions
Import substitution of combination wire rope. Part 1. Design, production and evaluation of a prototype combination wire rope
Model combination wire ropes with different covering materials were prepared and worked out specification for the prototype. A table model hand operated wire rope twisting machine was also developed for this. Prototype combination wire rope was twisted in collaboration with M/s South India Wire Ropes Ltd., Alwaye. Specification details, properties and field performance of the prototype studied are reported
