The purpose of this essay is to describe how structure of the organization and its culture will affect the formal process of strategic planning and analysis. The link among them is presented through two extreme mind frames, ‘palace’ and ‘tent’, that serve as a background for discussing the different approach of strategic process and the culture behind it when facing the changing environment. RISK MANAGEMENT ISSUES ON THE CASE STUDY OF QANTAS CRASH IN BANGKOK, SEPTEMBER 1999

The cycle of risk management is an essential procedure for every company in order to be able to manage its risks. The purpose of this discussion is to explore the risk management issue of Qantas crash in Bangkok, September 1999. Analyzing the potential factors of the safety of flying that closely related to Qantas reputation would give some understanding how to improve company performance. Outlining the six steps proposed by Augustine as a guidance to manage the crisis highlights the importance of identifying the potential crisis, preventing it to happen or even finding the potential success from it. In addition, exploring the case can generate some knowledge that can help one recognizing the effective ways to deal with crisis. Finally, by looking, at the analysis as a whole, it can be concluded that there are always risks associated with flying. Therefore every effort should be made by an airplane company toward the safety of passengers. Improving knowledge of pilot is also essential to reduce human error. Moreover, regularly updating strategy and procedure will give awareness toward the best action that should be taken when facing the crisis

Penerapan Model Discovery Learning Berbantuan Aplikasi Google Meet

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi merebaknya kasus Covid-19 yang penyebarannya mulai mengkawatirkan. Kondisi ini memaksa guru harus menyiapkan pembelajaran secara online. Pembelajaran yang paling sederhana dilakukan guru melalui Whatsapp group dengan orang tua murid. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil yang didapatkan dari penerapan model Discovery Learning untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik dokumentasi, observasi, dan kualitatif. Hsil penelitian yang didapatkan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi Google Meet dapat membantu guru dalam menyampaikan materi maupun memberikan tugas dan bimbingan kepada siswa sehingga persoalan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa yang rendah dapat diatasi. Beberapa penelitian terdahulu menjadi acuan peneliti untuk menggunakan aplikasi Google Meet dengan didukung penerapan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa
