Motivations behind Attending Fitness Clubs in Bangladesh: A Survey Study on Clubs' Members in Sylhet

    Get PDF
Fitness club is a place where people join to have physical exercise. Though it has been practicing from the ancient nomadic lifestyles, the fitness industry is experiencing the boom when Dr. Ken H. Cooper in 1968 released his concepts to prevent the growth of chronic diseases, regular exercise and fitness is essential. This study is descriptive in nature and aims to know the reasons for which the fitness club members attend fitness clubs in Sylhet. 200 members were asked several questions, 99 of whom seems physical exercise improves their health conditions, 81 thinks it develop their self-control, 49 found it as an way to gain status, 79 beliefs it helps to stay away from diabetes. The study will helpful to different individuals interested to practice physical exercise, operators and trainers of fitness clubs and also future researchers. Key words: Fitness club, Motivation, Physical Exercise, Physical Accord

Hard Combination Data Fusion for Cooperative Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio

This paper presents a study of hard combination data fusion for cooperative spectrum sensing in Cognitive Radio (CR). We evaluated the performance of cooperative spectrum sensing with the hard combination OR, AND and MAJORITY rules. Energy detection technique is used to sense the presence of primary user (PU) signal. Simulation result shows that cooperative spectrum sensing with OR rule is the best among hard combination data fusion in Cognitive Radio and gives the better performance than AND and MAJORITY rules.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v2i6.181

Highly selective and sensitive macrocycle-based dinuclear foldamer for fluorometric and colorimetric sensing of citrate in water.

The selective detection of citrate anions is essential for various biological functions in living systems. A quantitative assessment of citrate is required for the diagnosis of various diseases in the human body; however, it is extremely challenging to develop efficient fluorescence and color-detecting molecular probes for sensing citrate in water. Herein, we report a macrocycle-based dinuclear foldamer (1) assembled with eosin Y (EY) that has been studied for anion binding by fluorescence and colorimetric techniques in water at neutral pH. Results from the fluorescence titrations reveal that the 1·EY ensemble strongly binds citrate anions, showing remarkable selectivity over a wide range of inorganic and carboxylate anions. The addition of citrate anions to the 1·EY adduct led to a large fluorescence enhancement, displaying a detectable color change under both visible and UV light in water up to 2 μmol. The biocompatibility of 1·EY as an intracellular carrier in a biological system was evaluated on primary human foreskin fibroblast (HF) cells, showing an excellent cell viability. The strong binding properties of the ensemble allow it to be used as a highly sensitive, detective probe for biologically relevant citrate anions in various applications

Performance Evaluation of Ad Hoc Network over Moving Vehicles in a City

A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that can dynamically form a temporary network without the aid of any existing network infrastructure. Wireless connectivity on vehicles is an important mode of communication. It is more challenging to provide high-bandwidth networking over fast moving vehicles. Ad Hoc network can be formed on fast moving vehicles where the interior node acts as rely node. A dynamic routing protocol is needed for a node to exchange data with another. In this research work, we consider the traffic density of a typical district town where traffic density much lower than a metropolitan city and vehicle speed is regulated according to traffic law. We have studied two routing protocols AODV and DSR in city traffic. According to our study, AODV shows performance than DSR on city roa

Fractal dimension of fractal functions on the real projective plane

    Get PDF
In this article, we consider an iterated functions system on the non-Euclidean real projective plane which has a linear structure. Then, we study the fractal dimension of the associated curve as a subset of the projective space and like a set of the Euclidean space. At the end, we initiate a dual real projective iterated function system and pose an open problem

In the title compound, C21H33N4S3 3+·3I−, three secondary amines are protonated, while the central amine remains unprotonated. One thiophene is disordered with an occupancy ratio of 0.868 (6)/0.132 (6). Each protonated amine is involved in N—H⋯I hydrogen-bonding interactions with the iodide anions

Capacitance-Voltage Characteristics of Nanowire Trigate MOSFET Considering Wave Function Penetration

    Get PDF
Short channel  effects on the gate capacitance of nanowire trigate MOS field-effect transistors are studied considering wave function penetration. Capacitance-Voltage (C‑V) measurements are commonly used in studying gate-oxide quality in detail.  C‑V test results offer a wealth of device and process information, including bulk and interface charges. Capacitance indicates switching speed of the MOSFET. It is our goal to minimize capacitance as possible as we can in MOSFET. Due to our necessary to compact the Integrated Circuit as possible as we can for getting small electronics devices. Capacitance determines the speed of the IC. Every engineer in this section should know capacitance of his implementing device MOSFET to get exact result from this device. Whenever we deal with 10X10 nm scale or less device of MOSFET. We must concern the effect of wave function penetration into device in this stage classical mechanics fails to describe exact result of the system because electron can move in only one direction (x), in 3 Dimension, it cannot move in other two direction (y, z). i.e. confined in two direction which is not predictable by classical mechanics here quantum mechanics (QM) gives better solution of this problem. Therefore we consider QM in our study. Here we presented how wave function play vital role considering small area of trigate MOSFET. It is the analytical approach of QM and highly recommendation to use QM rather than CM to get accuracy. This result will be helpful for determining capacitance of trigate MOSFET.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v2i6.178
