In Flight Performance of a Six Ampere-hour Nickel-cadmium Battery in Low Earth Orbit
Flight data for 17,000 orbital cycles are reviewed and summarized. The nickel cadmium battery system operated without failure or abnormality. Battery trend analysis used in determining the feasibility of extending mission life is discussed. The life test data for 20% depth of discharge indicates design life requirements would be reached even at a deeper depth of discharge

This Essay discusses various ways to weave principles of justice and equity into solving the problem of environmental racism. This Essay also demonstrates the enormous potential of the waste management industry to act as an agent for environmental equity. Part I identifies problems that have led to accusations of environmental racism and conditions that have contributed to the definition of environmental racism. Part II discusses issues of the actual and perceived risks posed by waste treatment facilities, and the need for an understanding of these risks. The Essay next considers the issues raised in siting facilities, and the importance of community involvement and corporate responsibility in the decision-making process
Nickel-hydrogen low-Earth-orbit test program
The incorporation of nickel-hydrogen technology for low-Earth-orbit spacecraft applications requires the establishment of a data base. An extensive test program was established to provide this data base. The test program is outlined and the preliminary test programs is presented
Validity of small scale tests for turret/fairing loads and cavity effects
Data from several wind tunnel experiments along with available flight test data are used to discuss the validity of small scale tests and their inherent limitations. Tests were performed at transonic speeds to measure the turbulence levels in a cavity with and without a forward porous fence, turret drag with and without an aerodynamic fairing, and turret/fairing unsteady pressures
RAY-O-VAC BR2325 Lithium Carbon Monofluoride Cell Performance
RAY-O-VAC currently markets a 160 mAH lithium cell recommended for usage in watch and calculator products. The lithium carbon monofluoride cell offers an extended shelf life with no reduction in performance effectiveness. The BR2325 cell has aerospace applications for memory devices and telemetry systems. Over one hundred thirty (130) cells were purchased and tested for evaluation purposes. Realisations of Quantum GL_p,q(2) and Jordanian GL_h,h'(2)
The quantum group GL_p,q(2) is known to be related to the Jordanian
GL_h,h'(2) via a contraction procedure. It can also be realised using the
generators of the Hopf algebra G_r,s. We contract the G_r,s quantum group to
obtain its Jordanian analogue G_m,k, which provides a realisation of GL_h,h'(2)

A data collection scheme for identification of parameters in a driver model
A high gain steering controller to compensate for limitations in a handicapped driver's range of motion is employed when adapting vehicle to his use. A driver/vehicle system can become unstable as vehicle speed is increased, therefore it is desirable to use a computer simulation of the driver/vehicle combination as a design tool to investigate the system response prior to construction of a controller and road testing. Unknown driver parameters must be identified prior to use of the model for system analysis. A means to collect the data necessary for identification of these driver model parameters without extensive instrumentation of a vehicle to measure and record vehicle states is addressed. Initial tests of the procedure identified all of the driver parameters with errors of 6% or less
