Vibration surveillance for efficient milling of flexible details fixed in adjustable stiffness holder
The paper presents the results of research related to the possibility of using an intelligent workpiece holder with adjustable stiffness, during end milling process. Machining a one side supported flexible workpiece will be performed with constant spindle speed and feed speed. In order to avoid hazardous vibration, stiffness of the especially designed spring (mounted in a workpiece holder) will be modified off-line. In order to predict the accuracy of the proposed method, appropriate simulations were performed. As a simplified model of the flat workpiece it was applied the Euler-Bernoulli bar with possibility of identifying the two lowest normal modes. On this basis and for approaching optimal spindle speeds, the mean of adjusting relevant stiffness of the holder is invented
Badania przesiewowe dotyczące zaburzeń metabolizmu węglowodanów u mieszkańców domu pomocy społecznej w Rzeszowie
Introduction: To screen for undiagnosed type 2 diabetes and other disturbances of the glucose metabolism in welfare home residents in
Rzeszów.
Material and methods: 478 residents of four randomly selected welfare homes in Rzeszów were initially enrolled in the study. Among
them were 66 residents with previously diagnosed diabetes. Of the remaining 412 adults, 191 (39 males) aged 66.0 ± 17.7 years were enrolled
in the study having completed informed consent. All subjects underwent measurements of fasting glucose levels using a glucose
meter (Roche Accu-Chek Active, Mannheim, Germany). In participants whose glucose levels exceeded 99 mg/dL, an oral glucose tolerance
test (OGTT) was performed. The results of OGTT were qualified as impaired fasting glucose (IFG), impaired glucose tolerance (IGT), or
diabetes mellitus (DM).
Results: Among the 191 participants, we found 26 cases of IFG (13.6%), 25 of IGT (13.1%), and ten (5.2%) cases of newly diagnosed T2DM.
Conclusions: This study highlights that in Polish welfare homes greater medical vigilance is needed in order to optimise the health of
residents. (Endokrynol Pol 2012; 63 (6): 483–486)Wstęp: Celem pracy było określenie występowania zaburzeń metabolizmu węglowodanów oraz cukrzycy typu 2 u mieszkańców domów
pomocy społecznej (DPS) w Rzeszowie.
Materiał i metody: Badaniem objęto 478 mieszkańców z 4 losowo wybranych DPS w Rzeszowie. Wśród nich było 66 mieszkańców
z wcześniej rozpoznaną cukrzycą. Spośród pozostałych 412 dorosłych osób do badania, po uzyskaniu świadomej zgody, włączono 191
osób (152 kobiety i 39 mężczyzn) w wieku 66,0 ± 17,7 roku.
użyciu glukometru (Roche Accu Chek Active Mannheim, Niemcy). U osób, u których stężenie glukozy przekraczało wartość 99 mg/dl,
przeprowadzono doustny test tolerancji glukozy (OGTT).Wyniki OGTT kwalifikowano jako nieprawidłową glikemią na czczo (IFG),
upośledzoną tolerancję glukozy (IGT) lub cukrzycę (DM).
Wyniki: Wśród 191 uczestników badania stwierdzono 26 przypadków IFG (13,6%), 25 przypadków IGT (13,1%) i 10 (5,2%) przypadków
nowo zdiagnozowanej cukrzycy typu 2.
(Endokrynol Pol 2012; 63 (6): 483–486
Polityka z twarzą : personalizacja parlamentarnych kampanii wyborczych w Polsce w latach 1993-2011
The main goal of this study is the verification of a hypothesis/idea of centralized
personalization during Polish electoral campaigns. Because of its goal and implemented
methodology, such research project is unique among research presented in scientific
literature thus far.
The work has a descriptive character; it is congruent with treatments from the field
of political communication, combining approaches of communicology and political
science, in that it expresses an attempt to include in the analysis the circumstances
of election campaign personalization and factors specific to mediacentric and political
-scientific perspectives, as well as because of the fact of recognizing media content
in political party communication. Election communication research includes six Polish
parliamentary elections from the years 1993—2001. Along with an analysis of communiqué
contents, published in information media, as well as communiqué prepared by
political subjects contending in the elections, basic analysis methods within the study
are historical-comparative and statistical data analyses.
The specific objectives of the treatment are:
— Description of circumstances of the political communication personalization thesis
on the level of mediatization of politics and political campaign professionalization
theories;
— Analysis of the trend occurrence and characteristics of the electoral campaign
personalization trend based on empirical research conducted in western-European
parliamentary democracies;
— Recognition of conditions of electoral campaign personalization in parliamentary
elections in Poland;
— Analysis of the trend occurrence and characteristics of media personalization in
Polish electoral campaigns based on opinion-forming press research;
— Analysis of the trend occurrence and characteristics of strategic personalization in
Polish electoral campaigns based on political TV advertisement research
Partia Razem w prasie opiniotwórczej przed wyborami parlamentarnymi w 2015 roku
The main goal of the article concerning the parliamentary election in 2015 in Poland
was to study the way the quality press presented the Razem/Together Party in the
election campaign, the least (in terms of social support) the national electoral committee.
Based on content analysis of Gazeta Wyborcza and Rzeczpospolita considering exposure,
forms, context and themes of the party presentation there were some conclusions
presented referring to the qualities of the presentation in the light of the media functions
resulting from the liberal democratic model
The coverage of regional and local elections ‘2018 in Public Regional Television in the light of public service mission (based on the example of news programme “Aktualności” TVP3 Katowice)
The public service mission of public media imposes a number of responsibilities on public broadcasters covering politics. These responsibilities were expressed in the article as three news media functions. First, information (dissemination of information about candidates, their programs and main issues in election campaign). Second, the “watchdog” role which focuses on the delivery of information about candidates’ abuses of law and ethical violations, as well as critical information about their offers. Lastly, mobilisation which focuses on the delivery of information encouraging voters to vote. To answer the main research question about how the requirements of public service mission were fulfilled by regional television in the period preceding regional and local elections in 2018, the above-mentioned functions were verified after the content analysis of news programme “Aktualności” TVP3 Katowice. The results of the qualitative and quantitative analysis exhibited the dominance of propaganda bias in television news regarding local elections. The overall conclusion was that the analysed medium did not respect the elementary rules of the public service mission (impartiality and internal pluralism) and it did not fulfil the functions of news media properly
Nowa książka o komunikowaniu politycznym i zachowaniach wyborczych – recenzja
Personalizacja kampanii wyborczej. Przypadek polskich wyborów parlamentarnych w 2015 roku
The main goal of the article concerning parliamentary election in 2015 year included:
1) to analyse the conditions of the personalization of parliamentary election
campaigns, 2) to study the role of campaign leaders in the strategies of the main
election committees on the basis of audiovisual political advertising (strategic personalization),
3) to evaluate the trend of media personalisation based on contents
analysis of „Gazeta Wyborcza” and „Rzeczpospolita”. The results show that leaders
play an important role in campaign communication, especially in advertising,
not necessarily at the cost of the institution of parties and issues in parties’ offers.
There was insignificantly stronger emphasis on individuals put in press comparing
to previous elections, but the trend of personalization in terms of individualisation
and privatisation was not identified
Forecasting EUR/PLN Exchange Rate: the Role of Purchasing Power Parity Hypothesis in ESTVEC Models
The purpose of this paper is to verify strong-form purchasing power parity (PPP) of EUR/PLN within a class of smooth transition vector error correction models (ESTVECM). Empirical importance of exponential smooth transition functions is confronted with the linear error-correction mechanism. A class of competing models for recursive samples are compared by the likelihood ratio test, information criteria, and out of sample forecast accuracy measures
Kampania prezydencka w USA w 2008 roku : modernizacja i profesjonalizacja kampanii wyborczych
USA presidential campaign in 2008. Modernization and professionalisation of electoral campaigns
Professionalisation of electoral campaigns, treated as one of aspects of modernization, is characterized by convergence and standardization of practices and concepts used by political organizations. This process is mainly determined by American innovations, most frequently adjusted to suit local institutional and cultural conditions. The analysis of the professionalisation process of the USA presidential campaign in 2008
proves continuation of the tendencies identified before, with their common denominator of mediatisation
and political marketing. First of all, the activities were intensified and effectiveness improved in reaching by the political parties / candidates the potential voters belonging to selected groups (targeting) and the shaping of image of the candidates (popcultural trend in positioning). The most innovative element was the usage of new media, primarily taking advantage of the potential of the Internet. Significant stimulation of the flow of information about the campaign can be attributed to online activites (especially to the phenomenon of social networking sites and activity on YouTube); they have also caused greater involvement especially in the youngest group
of voters, which translated into effectiveness of fundraising for campaigns and greater mobilization
of the electorate
[fragm. tekstu
