Method e historicity. The influence of Dilthey and medieval studies in the young Heidegger

    Get PDF
This paper will discuss a segment of particular interest in the Heidegger’s work, concerning, on the one hand, to the Dilthey’s reception and, on the other, to the courses that the young professor imparts between 1921 and 1922 about the Pauline epistles and Augustine of Hippo and the Neoplatonism. In these texts, we assist to the decisive influence that Heidegger makes of the historicism in the phenomenology and to see how his contribution is fundamental when he print his personal trace to the Husserl’s phenomenology to insist in the historicity of fundamental experiences and to give place to the hermeneutic turn

Micronarratives as the form of contemporary communication

Narratives can be considered as a way for presenting and representing reality, going beyond time, space, aesthetic form, and medium of conveyance. From Aristotelian classical principles, to structuralist rules, to post-structuralist plurality, the aesthetics of narrative representation is constantly put into discussion. Narratives are composed by both constant structures and figures, which determines whether an object can be identified as a narrative, and variables which determine the way in which it is conveyed on different media. In this paper, we concentrate on contemporary narratives on social media. After declaring what are the main characteristics of the medium in terms of affordances, content, and role of the users, we analyse two existing case studies using the concepts of remediation and narrativity. The paper aims at bringing a contribution to the discussion about contemporary aesthetics in media design, considering narratives as a matter of design, and investigating on the role of the designer

The emerging population of pulsar wind nebulae in hard X-rays

The hard X-ray synchrotron emission from pulsar wind nebulae (PWNe) probes energetic particles, closely related to the pulsar injection power at the present time. INTEGRAL has disclosed the yet poorly known population of hard X-ray pulsar/PWN systems. We summarize the properties of the class, with emphasys on the first hard X-ray bow-shock (CTB 80 powered by PSR B1951+32), and highlight some prospects for the study of Pulsar Wind Nebulae with the Simbol-X mission.Comment: Proceedings of the 2nd Simbol-X Symposium, AIP Conf. Conservation biology studies on the endemic species from Sardinia within the "GENMEDOC" Project - The achieved results of the Interreg IIIB "Genmedoc" project (2004-2006) are here reported. Data focused on the conservation biology studies of Sardinian endemic species are showed in this work. During the project 26 populations of 16 species were investigated and the ex situ conservation for these species was guaranteed by storage of 65 seed lots in the seedbank. Furthermore 8 species were analysed by in situ characterization of 17 populations: for each population ecological studies were carried out. Real and possible threats that affect these populations were detected. For 6 species effective germination protocols were identified and also valied by other two project partners. These protocols allow evaluating seed quality for the stored lots and their longevity during next years; moreover the knowledge of the best germination conditions will be able to schedule a possible cultivation or an in situ re-introduction for these species. These results were obtained by sistematic conservation biology studies of threatened endemic species of Sardinia by a tested and internationally acknowledged methodology

Juda, Claudia. Universidad Nacional de Rosario. Facultad de Humanidades y Artes. The Concept of Limit as an Indicator of the Maturation of Hegel’s Logic

Hegel, además de dar un importante giro al problema del límite dentro del idealismo alemán, nos muestra cómo el límite, incluso para la filosofía política, puede constituir un dispositivo teórico esencial para comprender las realidades complejas y entramadas que pueblan nuestro mundo global actualThis paper will discuss the proposals of three fundamental authors of the German Idealism (Kant, Fichte and Hegel) on a key issue both for the proposals of these authors and the contemporary philosophical debate: the concept of limit. This problem permeates the 18th and 19th German Philosophy and constituting Hegel's philosophy a particularly interesting development. We will deal therefore the figure of the limit in the Science of Logic, where in few and dense pages, Hegel reverses the Kantian dynamic of the limit and also transfigures Fichte's contribution. Although the Hegelian position is in our opinion more interesting, it is necessary to take into account Kant and Fichte's problems in order to provide a context for the philosophical challenges Hegel was facing. The problem of limit, so, is articulated in the construction of identity, since, as we see in Kant, the limit always implies a subject with which it is associated. The problematics of the subject in Kant is precisely the reason of the exclusive limit: a limit that divides the faculties of the subject without defining what is the subject. Already Fichte inverts this point, through the self-positioning of the subject as act, leading through the limit to the determinedness. Hegel reveals how the limit has a very strong potential in the development of the concept of identity, transforming fixed identities and giving birth to new ones. Besides giving a significant turn to the problem of the limit within German Idealism, Hegel shows how the limit, even in political philosophy, may constitute an essential theoretical device in order to understand the complex and framed realities that populate today's global worl

INTEGRAL IBIS/ISGRI energy calibration in OSA 10

We present the new energy calibration of the ISGRI detector onboard INTEGRAL, that has been implemented in the Offline Scientific Analysis (OSA) version 10. With the previous OSA 9 version, a clear departure from stability of both W and 22Na background lines was observed after MJD 54307 (revolution ~583). To solve this problem, the energy correction in OSA 10 uses: 1) a new description for the gain depending on the time and the pulse rise time, 2) an improved temperature correction per module, and 3) a varying shape of the low threshold, corrected for the change in energy resolution. With OSA 10, both background lines show a remarkably stable behavior with a relative energy variation below 1% around the nominal position (>6% in OSA 9), and the energy reconstruction at low energies is more stable compared to previous OSA versions. We extracted Crab light curves with ISGRI in different energy bands using all available data since the beginning of the mission, and found a very good agreement with the currently operational hard X-ray instruments Swift/BAT and Fermi/GBM.Comment: Accepted for publication in proceedings of "An INTEGRAL view of the high-energy sky (the first 10 years)" the 9th INTEGRAL Workshop, October 15-19, 2012, Paris, France, in Proceedings of Science (INTEGRAL 2012), Eds.
